My experience with sound in this game would make my tip for number one be "If the enemy footsteps are muffled and sound like they're coming from upstairs, the player is probably in the doorway next to you where your back is facing"
bro i just started playing and the amount of effin times ive died thinking this kid was two houses over and hes staring at me is crazy. im sure its a good system once you understand it but ffs literally wipe your memory of all other ways sound functions in other games cause it does not apply here
happened to me yesterday, I hear someone coming from upstairs to the left of me on lair and I’m peeking next thing you know they’re coming from the room all the way down the hallway
After 3.2k hrs in siege, all these were known for me, BUT i will say 2 things: 1) this is a very well made list, 2) i'd also reccoment for players to drone when on attack and reinforce when they're on defence, in ranked at least :D
Based on the thumbnail I can tell you what you need to know. Never plant because your gun won't be up, make Aruni gates affect both enemies and teammates (a team kill is still a kill) and shoot holes into reinforce walls (part of the new shotgun buff).
For tip 1: some walls on certain maps are thinner and sound will be the same either way. Tested it out in custom game and if there is a difference it's not noticeable. Extra tip: Don't stand too close to a wall as you're peaking an angle, bc chances are the other side of that angle will see you before you see them. They could see your barrel of the gun, half your body, if you're hugging the wall. Better to back up and giggle peak the angle, so you don't slowly move into someone's crosshair. This way you die less, get more kills and improve your awareness.
For Tip 4 another great thing is for attackers they can shoot in the same spot twice it’ll make a really small hole and it won’t break the glass so most defenders won’t notice
in tip 8 you talked about team colour, A good tip to add is to put your team on red and the enemy team on blue. this makes seeing enemy gadgets such as claymores and Valk cams easier. especially on maps such as theme park and skyscrapers which have a red coloured theme to them.
Here are some more tips for newcomers, reinforce walls between site for more protection when the bombs explode, Doc’s revolver also stims teammates so make sure to stim their head with the revolver. As a attacker make sure to never defuse the bomb because your gun goes down. Never shoot enemies because you lose your precious ammo. As a attacker when the timer goes to 0 you win, so make sure to hide on the roof. As a defender run outside so you are invincible from bullets and knifes. use only pistols to counter thatcher’s gadget. Make sure to goyo tachanka or capito afk teammates to make them get un-afk faster. Walk in Thermite and Buck’s gadget for more health. Use Flores gadget on droning teammates so they can get in the fight faster. Shoot the red part on the osa shield. And finally drone phase is phone phase.
The one on the soft wall sound, and the one on the floor board steel were ones I didn't know and are actually really helpful, not just for vert play but also playing solis or IQ, lets say you don't have any impacts left but still want to deny plant or deny counter defuse, now it makes it a lot easier to shoot through the floor boards because you know the direction they are placed accross
Tip 3 . There is actually a general rule , The floor railing in this game is always parallel to the north i tested in clubhouse , kafe , chalet they always facing from North to south
For #4 I always tell my teammates not to shoot out the window before repelling. I always tell them to wait until after they are right next to the window, otherwise the defenders will hear them repelling up
I played on release. Then took a break for like 2-3 years. Then I came back 2022 and was mind blown when my friends told me you could open hatches with DMRs.
ngl, Im surprised by the last tip. I was expecting to be something cheesy, like play everyday, rewatch your matches, etc. That last tip is actual good advice! Good work (insert thumbs up emoji bc I'm typing through my PC)
this is mainly for attackers but a thing ive noticed mainly in the lower ranks is players are just way too passive. if you sit and wait for a minute for the kill to come to you youre just putting yourself in a position where you have less time to then find the kills and get a plant down. the amount of low rank players who get caught out by a rush is insane because they play the game at such a slow pace
about tip 3 this is not always the case, for example on skyscraper in display room metal beams are going in the same direction as floorboards, and i think there is also one place like that on border
Number 8 applies to drones as well. You can easily tell a teammates drone from a mozzie drone because of the colour of the light on it. If it glows your team colour, it’s yours and if it glows the enemy teams colour it’s theirs
I will say, to the point about teammates breaking friendly Aruni gates in number 8, another reason is that some people (myself, at least) have a tendency to forget that Aruni gates treat friendly and enemy utility the same. It's the only projectile-catching gadget that does this, and so it's just really easy to forget. I know I've lost some of my utility on defense because I tried throwing it through a friendly Aruni gate once or twice.
Also for tip number 2 this works for Lazer sights as well there has been sooo many times I was hiding in a corner and knew someone was peeking because I saw their red lazer right next to me Edit I dont know if he said this but you can destroy a bullet proof cam just by shooting it on the side. Now you can break it from range without using a explosive
Honestly, having more confidence in ones self in this game will really make the difference. You might not win every gun fight but if you go in thinking you will, you'll look more at the positives and stay competitive
By far my favorite op at this time. His utility is so strong and gives so much info while also being able to destroy gadgets. Once I learned some of the go-to camera spots it’s almost too easy if you have a team that uses the info you give and watches the cams for you when needed. Plus breach charges and the gonne-6 it’s crazy. I can make whole plays by myself.
For tip #4 as a Defender, I like to keep the glass on the window intact so that I can hear it shatter when someone is trying to melee the barricade or even get a cheeky kill if they're using a soft breach on it.
I think the one about breaking glass for more sound is a personal preference because me and some guys try not to break it since enemies breaking it with breach charges is a great sound que to figure out where the enemy is pushing.
Tip 3 is inconsistent, not only are many floors not made of planks, but sometimes, even if they are they are parallel to the beams below. I can say that at least on clubhouse the beams are generally parallel to the planks. It may or may not be the only map where that is the case
The rear peep sight on the in-game MP7 is incredibly big. Hilariously big. It's quite literally just a circle that gives you a lot of situational awareness.
I like using aruni for defense because of her ability to make bigger holes without any gadgets so she makes the game easier in defense. The p10 roni isn’t the best gun in terms of mag size but combined with here punch hole ability she’s op
I don't quite understand the sprint thing, so you're saying, when you want to clutch and you're in a 1/2 vs x situation you shouldn't do this, but to sprint in rotating or other types of rotations its okay? I just want to understand, because I tend to sprint quite a lot.
If you are in a high chance defender area such as in or around site, then you should not sprint However if you are running from one spawn point to another, or rooms you have control of then sprinting is OK. You should just try and sprint only when it's necessary, and not just cause you wanna get somewhere faster. It can cost you the fight
i’ve been playing for 4 days and i can’t get good. my reaction time is shit, cross hair placement is shit, sound ques are shit, and i’m struggling. this video was helpful👍🏽
2:45 im pretty sure that it depends on graphic settings. If you have shadows on Medium+ you can see enemy shadows if you have lower than medium you cant. Im not sure tho , i heard about that in some other yt vid.
on tip 4 if ur an attacker u can shoot the glass at an angle, it will bake a bullet but not break it entirely if u single fire thorugh that glass hole u can break a barricade piece alllowing you to reppel and shoot defenders while they cant here you rappeling
Another tip that saves a lot of time: shooting a barricaded window 5 times (in different spots) will destroy the glass on the other side without breaking the barricade.
i have a little problem which is anoying me, and it's that im scared, im scared to die in the game, im scared to lose, how can i fix this, can you please tell me?
On tip 3, I’m definitely as stupid don’t worry I never thought that it would be a thing in a game because it’s such a weird piece of detail but it makes so much sense
i've been hackusated so many times for simply prefiring a shadow. also had many teammates waste explosive util on hatches when i could have just opened them with my dmr instead
A tip for a 5 stack is to never bring the same operators, always have a rotation and never bring the same operator round after round, if you keep it fresh the enemy team will have to constantly rethink their strategy and in the constant confusion it leads to easy wins
The bars tip (like you, I didnt know it xD) and the last tip, but I don't think the last one will work on me since I always end up dying when I do this.
peekers advantage is a big thing as well in siege and in all shooters. unless you’re on a nasty pixel make sure you’re the one swinging/peeking first and put yourself in a position to do so cause you’ll get an extra .5 seconds to a whole second advantage depending on what their refresh rate is on their gaming setup

tip 10 made so much sense to me
