    Hey bro can you attempt to vlog with this set up? I'd like to see how this combo plays out in real world use. For stills this combo is a no brainer but I'd mostly use it for video. 18mm is wide enough for establishing shots, 23mm for mostly narrative/ tracking subjects, and 35mm for close up. These 3 focal lengths are what I would use for a typical short video but the idea of switching primes especially with different filter threads for ND filters is discouraging. The 18-55 OIS lens is great but it's too slow at the long end so I wanted to explore this combo for hybrid shooting

    In 4k video mode is the Sigma 18-35mm's autofocus still very loud when utilizing the Fringe adapter with it? I find that the autofocus noise of the Sigma when used with my Sony a6500 with Sigma MC-11 adapter is damn near unusable for any kind of critical narrative work where dialogue is at the core of a scene.

      Why are you using af for narrative work? Pull focus manually.
      That's how the pros do it. Get a focus puller adapter.
      Ooooor if youre deadset on autofocus (not sure why, I would hate for an errant autofocus ruin a good take).
      Then learn how to setup a boom mic and separate recorder for audio. Or hire a sound guy and let him worry about it.

    Should I buy 18-35mm 1.8 with my xt3 rather than just 35mm 1.4 I need for music video shoots is sigma lens sharp enough?

    • @Maxi86inAction
      @Maxi86inAction 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is sharp enough but you should get a grip because the sigma is pretty heavy. I got an Aluminium grip for 20$ and i really like the Ergonomics now

    The EAF didn't seem to lock on particularly well, still good though when you consider the price.

    Hmm. Did you use the fastest shutter speed / the fastest fps mode? It looks like the AF system loses the eye while shooting the burst (and keeps on using the face detection mode for a bunch of frames). Maybe with one of the slower modes aka the lower fps rates available it has more time to aquire the eye(s) properly. Would be interesting to know if that helps.

    Much better video compared to the first one as you mentioned maybe you should take it down only because it doesn’t make justice to the great potencial that the X-T3 have even though we all know that the A7iii is better but is not as bad is it looks on the first video, I was a bit shocked!

    xt3+fringer+18-35 1.8, would this set up be great for narrative filmmaking? I'm trying to find a good adapter. Thanks!

    If you shoot the 35 at 1.4 what would you say the accuracy hit rate for eye af is. 80%?
    And what about the sony's hit rate?

    • @randallherreraNyc
      @randallherreraNyc  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      with this particular lens I think 80% is about right ,, the sony's to me almost seems like 90-95% , depending on lens of course .. this is purely opinion of course , I dont have the patience or time that it would require to average the exact numbers

    How does the fringer perform with AFC in video?

    • @randallherreraNyc
      @randallherreraNyc  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Paulo Carvalho hi, it depends on the lens , on the sigma 18-35 sigma I think it does acceptably well in a normal(casual) paced situation... on the canon 24-70 2.8mkii, it does not do so well

    • @pauloancarvalho
      @pauloancarvalho 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hei,
    Can this combination perform well in actual real fashion show, cat walk? The model is walking too slowly. Please try to shoot actual cat walk, and see what is the keeper rate.

    Instead of wasting the viewer’s time with your description of your experiences, choose a topic and explain it.
    Try viewing some well known teachers such as Joe McNally. We don’t benefit from your personal rumination
    as to whether, or not you plan to take down your video, etc.
