You are quite the mad genius to store up all that music in your head and make it come out your fingertips on such an amazingly wild contraption strapped to your body.
Me too. I can’t believe I missed this. Not to mention how lucky I am to have stumbled upon....... Now I know what uillean pipes look like. My boyfriend will love this. Thank you.
Being able to see someone play the uilleann pipes in their kitchen gets me motivated to learn. It'll take quite a while to get to your level, but I'm excited non the less.
Being a very literal sort of person, I rarely use this phrase but this is "absolutely amazing". Often, when I watch your videos and with my very eclectic tastes in music from around the world, the thought of "the Jimi Handrix of the Uillean Pipes", come to mind.
I like your playing. It's manic and exciting and you take risks. There are some technically amazing players out there these days but clinical perfection is boring... much better to feel like the tune is a mad, living beast.
Hey Josh, Alot of my music I was given from a local whistle/pipe player called Noel Devine. Learned by ear and with notation. Later I learned just by ear in the Armagh Pipers club from Tiaran O'Dunnican. I think it's about finding which way suits you best...some people pick it up better by ear, others from Notation. Also I'm considering giving skype lessons on the Uilleann pipes. Let me know if you would be interested.

nuair a bheidh tú stop a chur ag caoineadh an mhairbh, beidh tú a bheith ar an gcéad a chur ar an bagpipes, ansin a thabhairt saoirse do na daoine. ☘️
Kitchen gives good acoustics.
Hey Chris! Great playing, I am just startin' the Uilleanns and I'm curious, where do you get the majority of your music or do you learn it by ear?
