Yes, this is the same Paula Abdul who was a judge on American Idol. She was a *massive* pop star who was at her peak from 1988-1991 (a lot of MTV Awards and a Grammy), and from before her music days was (and still is) a renowned choreographer/dancer. That's why she was a judge on that show. Her signature hit is "Straight Up," and she has a long list of hits such as "Knocked Out," "The Way that You Love Me," "Cold Hearted," "Forever Your Girl," "Rush Rush," to name a few.
