Hey Duds, very well made and interesting revue about that leather jacket, which is looking good on you. - Keep up the good work! - Never stop rocking your leathers! You are amazing! Peace and kindest regards from Switzerland.
Hey Del! Just discovered your channel while chopping for my new leather jackets. I have to say I’ve watched a lots of your content in the last 72 hours and learned a lot. Thanks to you!You say in this video that the price of this Master supply jacket is $450, I guess that it’s USD? Your video as been posted 4 weeks ago and the price of the jacket on the MSco is now $647 CAD.
Great review, initially I thought that you talked too much but you’re eloquent and your videos are enjoyable. One thing that you don’t mention is the weight of the jackets.I used to own a HD jacket and I would get tired when wearing it. I’m about to purchase this jacket which costs $499. We have similar body dimensions and weight but my chest size is about 44 or 110 (probably because I’ve been working out) which is the limit on medium. Im afraid that if I order the large it might be too big everywhere else. What do you think?
I looked at both jackets, the Master Supply and the Vanson and you’re right the Vanson jacket is for motorcycle enthusiasts. I bought Master Supply and you can see the grain of the leather, it looks like a real leather jacket, it’s nice. the only thing that I found strange was that the zipper is on the opposite side and I’m right handed. I’m 5’9 1/2 and weight around 194lb but since my chest size is 44 I ended up buying the large. It fits me snug on the chest area but everywhere else it looks perfect. I tried wearing a pull up underneath, zipped it up and it’s not too tight, I figure after it break in it will be a bit loser. I’m going to condition it before I wear it.
@@Obe411 glad it worked out for you! I will say, I like Vanson enough that I worked with them for a collab jacket. Dialed back some of the biker-centric features and got some great Italian leather- turned out really great.
Hey Del! Really enjoy your reviews and just bought my very first Aero FQHH jacket based on your video about Aero. Have you heard of the brand Stewart (from Italy)? They don't seem to be well-known and to fly under the radar for the most part.... But especially their older steer hide repro jackets are pretty great.
Hey Thor thank you! Have not heard of the brand. Seem to be a lot of suede and lamb luxury fashion. I’m less familiar with that type, of which it feels like there are so many brands. Would like to learn more with time
I've had YKK zips in many jackets over the years, of note are my Vanson Chopper and Model B which both use YKK zips throughout and have held up very well. I'd be pretty confident in the zips if they're YKKs.
I think it can be a good start if you’re not sure and you’re drawn to the designs AND you hate buying used. So many good deals are available used that it’s my first recommendation
@@DudsByDel im not really sure what im looking at im in canada and there so many websites im not sure where to look, and going used what brand should i look for? thanks for responding it really helps
Well done, Del and very thorough. I think that this jacket that hits about right for its price. The cuff looks like the leather was doubled over to provide strength there and possibly why it fits so tightly. Compare to your Schott or Rainbow Country jackets, where the cuffs actually enlarge a bit. In my experience, YKK zippers work very well and the size of these look right on this style. I'm not a fan of the pronounced zippers on the chest pockets and cuffs and like the looks of the concealed center zipper better. Just a comment about jackets and motorcycle riding. Obviously, any jacket can be worn while riding. However, all dedicated motorcycle jackets have built in pockets for armor. And, the manufacturers build in extra space for these pockets. The leather provides weather protection and abrasion resistance, but the armor provides safety against impact/crash protection. A good example is the Armored Vanson Original. The armor is removable.
Thanks Marl! It’s not that the cuff is tight, it’s more that it’s thicker and there’s kind of a lump there. Definitely doubled over, but perhaps not hammered down or whatever they do to smooth it as I’ve heard they do at Vanson for example. Agree about motorcycle protection, and while I don’t ride I just wanted it to be clear to folks that the jacket isnt protective
i just hope they keep this specific style or carry on with the lining for the rest of their jackets coz by the time i'd be able to afford any of their stuff, they would be changing the style and changing the design of their jackets.
Hey do you have any red leather jacket racer type ?? I am seriously thinking to get custom one but cannot put my finger about the styling Please can you make a video
@@arkadatta1996 hey Arka! I don’t have any red jackets. Lewis Leathers famously has jackets in a wide variety of colors, including red. I’m sure there are some others out there!
@@ibbjos08 completely understandable! To me it’s a jacket that makes sense in a particular context. My own purchases have often tended towards used, including several Vansons.
this is nicer, nicer collar and it is waisted curved at the waist, I think the collar on your master supply is much better than collar on the vanson comet, the same with biceps area of the sleeve, and the waist is also better on your master supply, also with slanted pockets, but in my own preference I like the chest pockets lower
I wish the handwarmer pockets where zipped. Also unlike most people I prefer polyester twill lining for durability. Looking for a cafe racer, my Hillside 1.3mm horsehide D-pocket is great, but I wanna try other stuff. Between Goldtop and Master Supply at this point. Cheers
They were zipped on the previous model. If you really want it, try emailing them. They may agree to make you one with zipped pockets! As for lining durability, it’s this jacket leans much more into comfort than durability. Have a good one!

Thanks so much Willy. It took me a while to find my words on this video, had been a while since I made one!
A comparison video between the daytona and 530 schott would be fantastic given that they both are similar in style
Fun idea would really like to try it

For 450 usd you can buy jacket made in europe.

I know it’s a small aspect of the design as a whole, but the green lining isn’t great. A deep red or plain black would be better.
