Omg. I just wanted to say how much I appreciated Mikey Madison’s performance as Anora. She brought such an incredible depth to the character, and I was so moved by the way she captured every emotion so subtly yet powerfully. the characters vulnerability had such nuance. Her ability to convey complex emotions without saying anything, she deserves an Oscar, she’s a force to be reckoned with!
Sean Baker makes no apologies for liking “low brow”cinema. He’s like the Anthony Bourdain of film, he can talk about an obscure Filipino monster movie from the seventies with as much passion as the films of Lars Von Trier or Fellini. He’s the next evolutionary step of film-geek. He’s the filmmaker we need
@@mackereltacos2850 Ari Aster films are regarded as arthouse prestige horror. That's not a guilty pleasure. Guilty pleasure is like how Terrence Malick loves Zoolander and PTA is a fan of Ted 2 and Venom.

Friends through eternity, loyalty, honesty. We’ll stay together through thick or thin. Friends forever, we’ll be together. We’re up top because we play to win.
I'm a psychotherapist and appreciated Anora for many reasons. My favorite is it depicts how silly it is to say "my husband" . It gives people temporary magical strength, until they realize it's meaningless. Oh, and "Florida Project" is the best movie of the century.
Mikey has that look to her. That she belongs in many fun horror movies. We've seen her die as villians. I think we need to see her as a heroine for once.😱🔪
Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood (2019) just keeps on giving: Austin Butler, Sydney Sweeney, Maya Hawke, Mikey Madison, Samantha Robinson, Julie Butters, and so on and so on… Sadie: F**k you, Katie! Sorry I don't know the name of every fascist on TV in the 50s.
Sure, Paris Texas, Felini, Lars Von Trier all have to be there, but we all know Miami Connection is the best movie mentioned here or on any list. It was Stanley Kubrick and Akira Kurosawa's biggest inspiration, they ripped it off constantly. And it was the entire reason John Ford became a director. Totally snubbed at the Oscars in 1987 as well.
How could Akira Kurosawa have constantly ripped it off if most of his films were made 30 years prior to it's release? lol. However, I'm eager to check it out now, so thanks for that.

Just when I thought I couldn't appreciate Sean Baker more, he drops MIAMI CONNECTION as one of his four favorites? lfg
Great director, great taste
He’s totally an rlm fan
Sean has been a letterboxd legend for a while now
Mikey Madison is so adorable
Omg.

i loved Mikey Madison in Better Things. Looking foward to se Anora.
Paris, Texas, is getting more love as of late... my all-time favourite!!!
A lot. There's even fashion brands using the name now? It's like in the zeitgeist of the youths nowadays, for some reason.
@@LordExarKun Don't think the Beyonce song helped 😅
It's always been a popular entry level arthouse film. You're not special for liking it.

Two all time favorites mentioned! (Paris, Texas and Nights of Cabiria). All the picks were very solid!
Very wholesome. Both have kind eyes.
Sean shouting out Lee Chang Dong and Oasis is amazing
PALM D OR WINNERS🎉🎉🎉
Sean should work with Mikey again and again and again. Be the new Lanthimos/Stone

Florida Project and Red Rocket! we're amazing
I loved Anora, the first of Baker's films I've seen. Can see these influences within the film. I'm going to explore his work!
All his previous movies are good. Red Rocket (his previous before Anora) is his best my opinion
I love Nights of Cabiria. Giulietta Masina was wonderful.
Cabiria inspiring ANORA???? Omg here we gooooo
1:42 I love how it looks like Sean forgot the title of his own film. Love Prince of Broadway too ❣
Miami Connection?! Sean Baker, you are now my friend for eternity
Her voice ❤😻
Anora is simply great!❤
Ironically my favorite movie is Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Verygood picks and surprising a French film by Pialat, loulou😊👍
Mikey Madison is sooo hot. She’s hot in Scream, and even hotter in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Friends for eternity ✊🏾
She will be my actress.

I can't believe Mikey Madison doesn't have social media! That must be why she's so calm and down to earth seeming.
She plays psychos so well. I can't believe that's the girl Leo torched in OUATIH. Goddamn hippies!
Sean baker raved about RRR as well. Dude has a great range
