no cause why does a man have Blue is the warmest color as one of his favorite films… like in my mind that movie is for sapphics exclusively (not saying he can’t like the film but it is strange to me sorry)
Very great and interesting choices for everyone!😉 Finally someone who quotes Mrs. Doubtifire, thank you Nicholas Hoult!🤩 Robert Eggers who quotes Home Alone and Mary Poppins was unexpected!😅
Aaron Taylor Johnson channelling all us midwestern/middle Canadian girls who watched Blue Crush once (and then 100 more times) and desperately wanted to be surfers with that mention
I got the sense Robert Eggers had more arthouse picks to dish out but because of present company, he toned it down with Mary Poppins and Home Alone lol
Unforgiven is a damn good movie and easily in my top 5 Western movies. All actors were firing on all cylinders but Gene Hackman stole the show. 10/10 movie.
I kept waiting for Anya Taylor-Joy's picks before remembering that she wasn't in this movie at all!! I just always associate her with Eggers and gothic horror stuff!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
I've warmed up to Lily-Rose during this press tour (I will also fully admit I really haven't seen her in anything and kinda wrote her off as what Gen Z would now call a "nepo baby", even though I don't really believe it to be a thing), but I'll forever be curious what the film would've been like with Anya as her character.
@@levischorpioen How on earth can you not believe nepotism to be a thing? What makes you think nepotism is not a thing when Hollywood is overridden with nepotism??
@@KasperK-su9oz I just think “nepotism” is this new Gen Z term people use when they don’t really understand that 90% of being successful is knowing the right people. It reeks of “I want to be famous too but don’t actually want to work for it”. It’s pure jealousy and people are way too quick to hate on complete strangers just to make them feel better about themselves. Just because you’re related to someone doesn’t mean you’re a hack. In fact, being that close to successful people will also bring you closer to the tools needed to achieve similar goals.
I had to go look it up, he’s around 6’2, but a lot of actors lie about billing height and add another inch or two. It always amazes me how small actors are. I’d tower over them at 6’4.
It's not about that, the director of that movie abused the actresses and they literally spoke out on it. And the portrayal of female homosexuality/bisexuality in the movie is also just abominable, full of male gaze. I hate it so much. Disgusting movie tbh.
Her mother is French and I believe she grew up in France. That film is basically a fairy tale so children in France would probably watch it… ummm even if a king is trying to marry his own daughter in it. Fairy tales are creepy stuff.
Aaron Taylor Johnson's picks were out of the blue!!
Like his choice of women
Didn’t say perfect blue though…😢
better if he had said blue by kieslowki tbh
Should've said Kraven The Hunter.
no cause why does a man have Blue is the warmest color as one of his favorite films… like in my mind that movie is for sapphics exclusively (not saying he can’t like the film but it is strange to me sorry)
Robert Eggers feeling bad for cursing made me laugh. I love him.
lol
Robert dropping Home Alone and Mary Poppins both shocked me and made perfect sense
Same. I’d never expect Disney to be his thing. I think all of us gothic folks have a happy shining Disney side to us underneath though.
Ikr really unexpected i thought his four favorite would be horror and suspense not musical lmao
yeah mannn bro really said home alone 🙈
Home Alone and Andrei Rublev in the same selection is hilarious and perfect.
To honor his selection, let's make a Home Alone and The Elephant Man double bill.
Haven't watched The Elephant Man, is it worth watching?
its good christmas movie. i wish the was crossover between elephant man and home alone.
Eggers shock everyone hahaha 😂 Nicholas Hoult mentioned Being There... Is just a masterpiece ❤️
Very great and interesting choices for everyone!😉

Robert Eggers is such a rock star in the world of filmmaking. What a genius!
Aaron Taylor Johnson channelling all us midwestern/middle Canadian girls who watched Blue Crush once (and then 100 more times) and desperately wanted to be surfers with that mention
2:46 TARKOVSKY MENTIONED 🙌🏻
Aaron Taylor-Johnson's picks sure blue him away
He missed blue by kieslowski ahaha
@@valeriogiannetto5825And Blue by Derek Jarman, they were both just sitting right there...
I was expecting Blue Ruin. lol.
Missed opportunity to shout out Derek Jarman.
Picking "You've Got Mail" makes it imperative Emma watches "The Shop Around the Corner" ASAP (and it's the perfect time of year to do it).
Eggers is one of a kind. I'm more excited to see what he makes than Anyone else!
Anyone else excited to rewatch the silent classic, then the Herzog masterpiece, topped off with the Eggers version on Christmas day?
That’s the plan!!!
Watched Murnau’s 2 weeks ago and am gonna watch the Herzog one tomorrow!
It's not releasing in India as of yet but definitely planning to do that
This demonstrates the random factor of asking people for their favourite films off the top of their heads, and in a group.
lily’s picks were perfect
I got the sense Robert Eggers had more arthouse picks to dish out but because of present company, he toned it down with Mary Poppins and Home Alone lol
Casino 🐐❤️😍.
My Favorite Martin Scorsese's Movie
Unforgiven is a damn good movie and easily in my top 5 Western movies. All actors were firing on all cylinders but Gene Hackman stole the show. 10/10 movie.
0:25 It's one of my favorite movies too!!!
Aaron Taylor Johnson picking The Piano made me so happy, absolute Masterpiece Movie!
Good to see some Mrs. Doubtfire love. It’s a childhood favorite and hilarious. The pie scene is one of the funniest I’ve ever seen.
The Fifth Element. Muriels Wedding. There's Something About Mary. Fury Road.
Surprised that there were no Bergman films in Eggers’ Four Favs
Missed opportunity for a Perfect Blue and Three Colors: Blue mention.
I kept waiting for Anya Taylor-Joy's picks before remembering that she wasn't in this movie at all!! I just always associate her with Eggers and gothic horror stuff!!!

Why so blue Aaron?
Putting Casino is so based
I'm surprised nobody chose the classic black & white Nosferatu🙃🌟
Nick is tall af.. Towering over everyone
I had to go look it up, he’s around 6’2, but a lot of actors lie about billing height and add another inch or two. It always amazes me how small actors are. I’d tower over them at 6’4.
emma corrins picks were a surprise but a nice one.
Of course Eggers loves Lynch, Tarkovsky, and live action Disney films.
Me and Rob are on the same page about MARY POPPINS, excellent witch content
Casino is so fucking awesome
Aaron taylor-johnson kept mentioning movies with blue, but somehow he missed the perfect one
three colours ?
Wrong word order.
Perfect Blue?
Bluey: The Movie
Blue Ruin
My picks are shrek, shrek 2,shrek 3 and space jam.
why is Blue is the warmest color one of and the first film aaron taylor johnson mentions as a favorite film. i claim that film for sapphics only
It's not about that, the director of that movie abused the actresses and they literally spoke out on it. And the portrayal of female homosexuality/bisexuality in the movie is also just abominable, full of male gaze. I hate it so much. Disgusting movie tbh.
Hey i love that film too. Am i a sapphic?
What not BLUE Lagoon or deep BLUE sea
Feel like Lilly was trying really hard to sound cultured. Like you were not enjoying some French new wave film as a kid
Her mother is French and I believe she grew up in France. That film is basically a fairy tale so children in France would probably watch it… ummm even if a king is trying to marry his own daughter in it. Fairy tales are creepy stuff.
ummm hello, perfect blue?
Interesting that Lily-Rose Depp picks Casino. Sharon Stone in that film is rather Amber Heard-esque.
OK, kids, go read the plot of Donkeyskin and think about that.
i just looked it up .WTF!!!
it's an amazing movie
DONKEY SKIN
I don't like how many Nepo Babies Eggers has been casting lately.
why is she pronouncing it as cesino?
I know how to correctly pronounce the word "catholic", but once upon a time I pronounced it "ca-thaw-lic".
kay-see-know right 😂😂
Because it's pronounced that way in certain dialects.
Because she grew up mostly in France? She pronounced Catherine Deneuve parfaitement.
CASINO MENTIONED!
