Lots of speculations from people outside the relations.I've followed these guys since the 1960-ies and they have never made me disappointed. I'm in Bennys age and as I know , in spite of their fame and fortune, they are all four still close and dear friends, and very natural and down to earth. One has to remember that Björn and Agnetha have two children together, Linda Elin and Peter Christian and grandchildren too. They meet now and then on special occations. Björn said recently, when they made their latest album 'Voyage', after not having produced anything as *ABBA* since 1982 : We all four feel deep respect and loyalty to each other, and enjoy being with each other. Voyage was produced in 5 weeks with work from breakfast to dinner, and we all felt it was like we'd left the studioo yesterday and not forty years ago. Fantastic.

Bjorn didn't cheat. Agnetha & Bjorn separated (sadly) on Christmas eve. Born met Lena, a week later at Benny & Frida's New Years Eve party. It was Benny who cheated. Frida was completely shocked & devastated when Benny came home and ended their marriage because he had fallen in love with Mona. Both of the girls were victims of intense heartache because insensitive Bjorn moved on too quickly from Agnetha and cruel Benny betrayed Frida. I've loved ABBA since the early 70's. Agnetha was always my favourite because of her devotion to her children. I could never get my head around the fact that Frida left her two young children without a mother, to pursue fame as a singer.
Frida was traumatizad an being poor. Look all the man she choosen. I think she was secretly in LOVE with Agnetha. She never wanted to get married to Benny. When Agnetha and Björn divorced they married secretly. Strange. Benny said once he never thought of marrien Frida if It hadnt be for Abba. She seems to have a strong carácter. And Björn saw in Agnetha the perfect money machine because her voice. He is arrogant and like Frida justo wants money. Sad because at the end I belive they happinest is not fullfilled. Money is the only things that they have untill now. Who nows for how long
@@acarlosramirez Very strange look at things. Benny and Frida were already a couple a few months before Bjorn and Agnetha hooked up. Their union lasted longer. Both men (a little coldly for the sensitivities of those outside Sweden) actually said that ABBA kept the couples together longer than had they not been in the same band. They still would have originally fallen in love and married. Remember, they were two couples long before ABBA was even formed and made its first record. On the 'Dinah Shore Show' in 1976, when asked why they were still engaged, Benny joked 'She wont marry me' so it sounds like he was in fact keen. Maybe it just wasn't the right time and to think about having kids, especially when they were seeing their friends marriage problems. Frida was possibly still damaged by the collapse of her first marriage. People keep getting her story wrong. She didn't abandon her children. She and Ragnar were divorcing. Ragnar actually supported her singing career. They jointly agreed the kids were best where they were settled for the time being. What many do not know is that Ragnar remarried a few years later and that the children came to live with Frida and Benny. Both Frida and Agnetha had to make those difficult choices when trying to have a family life while having Pop stardom. Frida's children were much older than Agnetha's during ABBA's heyday. It's odd how these two women are treated so differently. Agnetha's and Bjorn's kids were left with nannies while ABBA toured or were abroad on their many promotional visits. Frida's son was actually old enough to accompany them. He even worked as a technician on ABBA's 79/80 tours. As for money, let's get it straight. They ALL combined to make each other financially very comfortable while creating great music Bjorn was already doing alright for himself being a member and songwriter for his multiple hit previous group. He was also 'in-house' producer for the Polar label. And in the late 80's, individual companies representing Benny, Bjorn and Agnetha's interests jointly took Stig Anderson to court for what they believed was 'royalties owed'. Saying that, NONE of the four ABBA members flaunt their wealth and ALL live in relatively modest homes.
@@chelseacharger I'm glad someone understands! Frida traveled for her career and was with her children when she wasn't touring...just like Bjorn and Agnetha and any other working singer. People act like she snuck out the backdoor and never saw them again. And you're right--Hans was with them during their Australian tour and worked to prepare the dressing rooms. I even saw him and his wife with Frida at the Voyage premier!
@@TheFridaFan Yes. Hans was there on the USA and Japan tours during 79/80 too. He followed his mum into the music business. He was in a couple of groups in the 80's, one of which also had Benny's son Peter called FX and co-wrote songs with Frida. He later became a producer.

I was so mad that ABBA broke up, I remember when the Beatles broke up and was just as mad. Agnetha was my favorite and had such a crush on her, I was in the Marine Corps in the mid 70s an they toured all around me but I kept missing them. 👍❤️🇺🇸

From what I have read, she also had huge issues with travel in band type buses, she specially designed. Due to a tour 1983, bus flipped twice, and ejected her out the window into a ditch.

From what I’ve read, it’s been more of a shocker that Frida and Benny broke up. The break up between Agnetha and Bjorn was expected because they seemed to be so different for many years. Agnetha sang the winner takes it all because Bjorn wrote for her to sing it. She accepted the fact that it would be a challenge to sing the song.
I can’t believe the blonde was so fearful and ducat hook up with a decent man. She was beautiful and talented. She could of had any man she wanted. And a truck driver who stalked her? What was she thinking?
People love to go after Bjorn, but from what I've read he and Agnetha married very young and became incompatible fairly early in their marriage. They tried to save it, but it just didn't work out. In the end someone had to pull the plug, and it was Agnetha who eventually made the decision. People forgot that while Agnetha sang Winner Takes It All, Bjorn wrote it. He also wrote If It Wasn't for the Nights about the divorce.

It seems that perhaps Bjorn and Agnetha had far different priorities. Perhaps Bjorn was dedicated to his career in music while Agnetha placed her greatest priority with being devoted to her children.
I saw a thing on You Tube yesterday that said Bjorn was cheating on Agnetha with the woman he married shortly after their divorce. That always did look suspicious, but I had never before seen that so firmly alleged .
@@kennethlowrie995 It could be true. I think people allege that because he began dating Lena so soon after the divorce, though they did not marry until 2 years later. The official story is that Björn met Lena at a New Year's Eve party. Neither he nor Agnetha have ever spoken about anything other than growing apart. Supposedly they started having marriage troubles kind of early on.
@@TheFridaFan The story I heard long ago was that Bjorn started dating Lena 2 days after the divorce which always sounded very suspicious to me. I heard an old boyfriend of Agnetha who said that she had a bitterness toward Bjorn. If it’s true that Bjorn was cheating, I don’t blame her for being bitter. To me, that is a betrayal of the gravest kind. And, I think Bjorn’s divorce of Lena after she was diagnosed with cancer says a lot about him. Be that as it were, I think a lot of both Agnetha and Frida. I’m sure that, like everyone else, they have flaws but in all of the interviews I have seen of them they seem like very nice people.

As a young wavy haired brunette, I was actually obsessed with Frida. Her hair was very on point for the trends of the time. Her perm and under curl looks were to die for and I had the straight under curl look for my sister's wedding.

Whereas, Frida was born in Norway, her mother Norwegian but her father is German which meant that they had to flee Norway while she was still quite young and set up home in neutral Sweden.
Poor Agnetha has suffered terribly with mental health problems, such as depression and also the stalker, a Dutch lorry driver wreaked havoc with her mental and emotional wellbeing.
I don't mean to demean or disrespect Frida in any way, but just the sheer fact that many men who never even knew Agnetha were attracted to her, simply by her blonde hair, blue eyes and her lovely personality.
But in actual fact they are all lovely people and made some pretty outstanding and iconic music.

I was just a little girl, so I didn't know anything about their personal problems, and issues with fame. I hope Agnetha had good security and they weren't ripped off financially, but I've heard Byorn was pretty astute.
And I think Agnetha and Freda are still friends.

Anna gets all the sympathy for “The Winner Takes It All” with people saying how brave she was to sing this song but people forget that it was Bjorn who wrote the song from His perspective and to have her sing “Tell me does she kiss, like I used to kiss you, does it feel the same, when she calls your name” was extremely painful for Him. As the girls are the main singers he couldn’t have Anna sing Does “He” kiss you because lyrically that would make it sound like he left her for another man so hence “She”. But it is Bjorn who felt all the angst & pain when writing the song and hearing Anna putting the blame on him every time she sang the song. Alas tho in every breakup there Is always a Winner & a Loser which makes this song so beautiful

Bjorn was hugely insensitive taking Lena on tour with them.Poor Anna, however did she feel,him rubbing her nose in it like that and she had to sing with him every night.Anna must've felt so alone,as Frida and Benny were still together then.
I’m not ready to jump on the poor poor Agnetha bandwagon. Both she and Bjorn worked very hard to save their marriage and although they decided it was best to split it was never because of a lack of communication. As they continued to work together in ABBA I saw a lot of warmth and tenderness between the two of them. It always seemed like they had each others backs even if they were moving in different directions. I think their maturity, professionalism and mutual respect were impressive to say the least. In the case of Benny and Frida I suspect they had very little communication at the end. Frida was deeply hurt and Benny was almost spiteful in his refusal to show any sadness or regret. It is almost impossible for any individual to survive a breakup without some regretful behavior or mud-throwing……but Swedes are very pragmatic about divorce. Time has also been very friendly to them. I think there is much to admire here

Frida is the one that most people truly love best. Frida had the toughest childhood, and the most deaths to family members near to her, yet Frida emerged as the most mature, loving, self confident, and wonderful person of all. She was always ready to keep the group together, when ever Agnetha wasn't pouting, and Frida never put blame on Benny for leaving her, although she certainly could have.

Even with the release of Voyage, Benny’s son Ludwig, admitted he was born in 1982. Benny cheated on Frida. Agnetha left Bjorn, but I cannot imagine playing nice for the cameras. You can see in the last few media appearances of the group in 1981 and 1982 how much Frida hated being near Benny. They were all miserable together then, but life moves on and time heals old wounds. Only the four of them know what happened and the fact they never trashed each other in the media.

Me! It's ALL my fault! I watched their show while taking pictures on stage. Kinda behind the scenes. I wasn't use to Swedish food. All the creme in the Swedish meatballs flared up my lactose intolerance, especially since the meat-and creme both were from very old, blind and deaf goats. On stage-I couldn't help the explosions constantly blowing out my back door. They were putrid! I blamed it on Bjore! He denied it over and over! I convinced the rest of the band I've had a gassy asst-and that it was making me I'll as well. That was the beginning of the end.
