Abba is often dissed as just a pop disco group from the 70s. Not in my eyes. They managed to become international stars but also played out their painful lives as true artists, in full view of their audience. I remember when the divorces happened and the music changed. Really powerful for "just" a pop group. And now, yes, graceful aging. Love it.
I wouldn't care if I never knew anything about this lady's personal life, she would still have given me as much happiness with her songs, and she also doesn't need to give me another great music, she's given us plenty already. I just wish her all the best in life, she deserves nothing less after all the joy she's given to millions.

Well, she did struggle with English in the VERY early days of ABBA...ie. the Waterloo/Ring, Ring era. They appeared on American Bandstand in 1975, and she looked over at Frida a couple times during the interview with Dick Clark to see if she was speaking correct English. But, by 1976, ie. Dancing Queen, Agnetha spoke clear English.

I would never label myself as a big fan but I must admit their music sounds stronger than it did in the 70s and will certainly be around long after we have gone to that big disco in the sky.

Or the amount of charity work she has done for environmental and other causes? She had a tough upbringing and has suffered awful personal tragedies since ABBA broke up. Yet she remains positive. Every ABBA fan who meets her has said she is very friendly. I think we should be proud of all the group members. They all come across as humble, down to earth and decent souls.
my stepdad was from Burlington Iowa. we used to go back there every summer when i was in my early teens,. One old farmhouse on about 80 acres of unused farmland. the humidity about killed me and the summer storms were awesome. the other kids around there called me "that hippy california girl" I lived in tube tops and cut off levi shorts. there was nothing to do back there really except smoke pot and listen to music. :-)
