My goodness! That just made complete sense!
I don't particularly like wearing eyeliner on my lids, because it seems to take away from all my eyeshadow work. And I hardly ever -- and I mean EVER -- tightline. I guess I'll start doing it now. Thanks, Wayne, for bringing that to my attention!

I don't know how people can be so casual about flipping their lid and dragging an eye pencil under there. I just threaten the eye by putting the pencil close to it and my entire eye flips out, so it's over before it even started! How do you tightline if your eyes are super sensitive?

im so glad you used your finger to lift up your lid to apply the eyeliner to your top waterline. i have done that FOREVER since i was in 6th grade and started eyeliner. im 25 now! and just started watching youtube videos on make up earlier this year.
i notice all the other 'beauty gurus' closed their eyes and lined their waterline with the eye CLOSED! im like OMG IVE BEEN DOING IT WRONG MY WHOLE LIFE!
LOW AND BEHOLD here you are WAYNE GOSS doing it just like me making me feel not so ABNORMAL.
sending love and best wishes your way! love your videos!

I do this method similarly since i have hooded eyes and wrinkly eyelids. No primer has prevented my eyeshadow from creasing, even when done professionally, it always creases. I use my eyeshadows like this: I apply my base shadow to lid, apply darkest color to outer third of my top lashline, keeping colors close to lash line as possible. Apply my mid tone to the rest. On the inner corner and above my tear duct I use my gold, highlight, or lightest shade and along the bottom lashline I line the water line with Pacifica's nude pencil. I take a small brush and lightly blend it all. I have received so many compliments doing this. It is quick, easy, and because of my hooded eyes, when my eyes are open (ya know, most of the time!) it looks like a have a full eye shadow look. Avoid creasing and tons of time blending and such. Other days, I do just what you have demonstrated here =) thanks for sharing! Truly unique here on YT.

This is finally why I feel like eyeliner makes my eyes look so small - it finally makes sense! It’s because the eyeliner takes up my lid space! I have hooded almond shaped eyes and every time I tried liquid or pencil top liner, I’d feel so uncomfortable with how much it took over my entire eyelid. Thank you!!!! Tight lining is so much better for me.

    Wayne,
I always love your videos, but I have a question. And maybe this is a bit of a dumb question, but when you do a look that utilizes techniques such as tightlining/inner rim lining, how do you suggest cleaning that off afterwards in a way that won't land any product in the eye. I always struggle to clean/cleanse really well after a dramatic makeup look without getting a noticeable amount of product in my eye. Is this normal or is there a technique I should be using to help minimize this?

Hi Wayne! I adore you and think you are lovely! I appreciate the written instructions that you put throughout the video. The hitch is, with your surroundings being in a paler hue, the white of the font of the instructions are awash in the background. Is there any way to make the instructions darker? I always feel like I'm missing out on something when I can't see it all, lol, I understand I'm most likely not, but why chance it? ;-) Thank you for your time.

hey wayne! I was wondering if you could do a video about products (pencils and mascaras) for very watery eyes. Personally I don't cry when I apply make up, neither anything has ever affected my eyes.. It just seems that make up doesn't want to stay put where I want to! I tried everything.. from waterproof to high end products (ysl faux cils) but after a few hours I always have a smudgy black zone in the outer corner of my eyes(not to mention the little black "ball" that I get in the inner corner which I really really hate). Waterline? After 30 minutes it has already gone away.. Even if I put just a little bit of waterproof pencil outside the waterline, on the outer corner, after a few hours there is this smudgy "dirty" effect in the final part! Please help me! Love your videos and tips by the way! thank you!

I have that same problem as well.....with every single eyeliner. Everything smudges or fades on me. The best 1 is Marc Jacob..and before that Hourglass mechanical is amazing too but nothing stayed like the Marc Jacob eyeliner. Give those a try!

Brilliant tutorial. Eyeliner has defeated me for years. I like to try unfamiliar techniques when I'm about to take my makeup off, so it doesn't matter if it looks bad. Your techniques really worked, but I did blink, so some transferred to my lower waterline, but I can practice that.

Love this bc I have very small lids and eyeliner takes away from the eyeshadow I just spent a good half hour on

Hi Wayne, I love your brush for tighlining and have been using it just the last 2 months. I have small eyes with a small lid space and I line the upper water line and then use your great brush for working black shadow into the roots. I feel this is the best method for me! Love your brushes and bought them when they first came out-lovely, Also could you review at some point Kiko cosmetics? Just saw a write up on this new cosmetics line because the prices are not too expensive but wondered if they perform well? Any love your tutorials and think you are the bomb!
