For those confused in the comments, I had nothing to do with the destruction of this Hummer. Rather we are the ones that came along and saved it from likely getting scrapped. Because of our actions, the Hummer will be getting fixed and returning to service on Off The Ranch's channel!
People shouldn't be upset about one of these hummers being destroyed in a ways that's literally what they were built for. If it was an old square body, I understand.
Rubbing elbows with coffee guys, podcasters, streamers, guys who drive on the wrong side of the road, a guy who blew up a .50 in his hands, a future congressman...that is some serious networking.
One of the things that has impressed me, throughout all your videos, is how you always seem have links to other people's channels in the description of your videos. Always trying to help each other succeed. Now that is a good quality to see lived out in the world today. Well done you👍
Probably. That starter wasn't nearly as bad as the worst core alternator I sent back to VW, and they still accepted it! The entire case and stator was literally snapped in half after a bearing failed at 3k engine rpm (that TDI alternator does 2-3x engine speed, so it was doing 6-9k when it let go with a massive bang, like a bursting tire, while flooring it on an onramp). Windings hanging out and everything! I honestly have no idea why they actually gave me the 100€ core charge on that, probably just wanted it as a display piece for their collection of "brokenest parts". Would have loved to see the facial expression of the core returns guy in Wolfsburg when they pulled my "alternator" (or what was left of it) out the box!
Agreed. Destroying things just for the sake of destroying them is trashy, to put it lightly, even if it _was_ paid for by a sponsor. "No such thing as bad publicity" so they do this, people get angry and talk more about them.

As a diesel tech I knew it would 'run' but I was still genuinely surprised when you got it running that quickly. I really thought you would have to redo a lot more wiring and replace that injector module and ecm.
@@JunkyardDigs True but i try not use ether on the basis i see too many trucks with grid heaters that aren't marked on the intake or come with them factory. but i still really thought that injector computer would cause more issues than it did. That poor engine may have been running on 4 or 5 cylinders, the clatter from the valve train was quite interesting, and most likely the reason why. I love the simplicity of a Diesel engine, but modern engines have been computerized to the point of being just as complicated as gasoline engines. I wouldn't feel as safe in a Hummer now, thanks Kev. 🙂
