If TUBI allowed us to pay to avoid the ads, this list would be useful. We don't pay good money to subscribe to all the streaming services, just to be forced to watch commercials on TUBI.
Ok, Tubi has an amazing selection IF you're willing to dig, and I'm glad you do. Genius is one you should add. And IF you watch on your browser, and have an ad blocker, there are no ads.
I surf alot of trailers that often disappoint, or misrepresent their greatness, but I always come back to you for recommendations across multiple free and paid platforms. You do not disappoint. Great channel. Thank you!
FINALLY seeing Way of the Gun get some love! It's one of my TOP 3 favorites! ( with True Romance and 13 Assassins ) I literally recreated Ryan Phillippe's t-shirt from this movie and put it on Etsy. If you only watched this movie once, you missed stuff, I promise. It's one of those movies where every character has their own self-serving angle and they all overlap. Criminally underrated.
I introduced True Romance to a mate as he always thought it was a romantic film till I made him watch it and needless to say that he doesn’t think it’s a typical romantic movie but it was fun listening to him saying wtf multiple times 😂😅😂
The Road is a phenomenal movie. The director used real footage. One was on Mt. St. Helensand one in Pennsylvania. The commentary on the DVD is fascinating. How he made the movie.
Ben Foster is an absolutely amazing actor. I 1st noticed him in 3:10 To Yuma. Even though Russell Crowe and Christian Bale are the headliners, his performance makes the movie. The intensity of his character is 2nd to none! Watch it, it's one of the best westerns you will ever watch.
I got that Saint Nick shirt when I first saw you in it, lol. I can't recommend Daywalkers and The Invitation enough, they are both films I watched on a whim and so glad I did. The Invitation is just a brilliantly tense movie.
I always look forward to his videos. Some great flicks are not promoted like the big money productions, but Darren always finds picks that I wouldn't have watched if not for his video!
A cool, under-rated movie is :"Magic," starring a very young Anthony Hopkins. "True Believer" is a terrific court thriller starring James Woods and a very young Robert Downey Jr. "Night Shift" is a comedy starring a very young Michael Keaton (I think it was his first film). A lot of people don't realize that he started out as a comedian. While it certainly isn't underrated, "The Killing Fields" is a true story that's old enough that a lot of people haven't seen it. Finally, one of my favorite comedies is "Used Cars," which stars a very young Kurt Russell. Tubi has a lot of really great movies.
You make excellent film recommendations. While I've seen a few of these movies before, especially The Edge which I've seen 4 or 5 times over the years, including just last week on tubi. The Invitation, The Way of the Gun and especially Cop Shop were excellent recommendations. Three of the best movies I've seen in years. Thank you. Please continue to give recommendations for tubi, TH-cam and Pluto if you do them. While Pluto rarely works well, sometimes you can get a reasonable streaming connection.
Thank You Flick Connection guy, I'll watch a few from this list also. You're lists are so good. I'd like to point out that the movie Audition, when it came out, was NOT advertised as a horror or thriller movie. There is some lightheartedness in the early scenes. It twists and tricks the viewers the same way that the protagonist gets tricked. To regular people that aren't horror movie fans, this is a sort of betrayal.
I highly recommend Burning! Saw it a few years ago and was mesmerized despite the slow burn. I put Audition in the Requiem for a Dream category. Good, but I could only watch it once. Lastly, it’s been years since I’ve seen The Way of the Gun, but I highly recommend it.
Saw Way of the Gun in the theatre and loved it ever since. Great soundtrack for the movie as well. I enjoy introducing this movie to people because as Darren stated, criminally underrated, so many have never heard of it.
Darren: Here's a short list of my recent tubi favorites. Some of these are foreign/international and will require reading subtitles, but all are tight, thrilling, mysteries or dramas: Zulu, Under Suspicion, Limitless, A Wolf At the Door, The Departed, Atonement, The Protoge, Closer, Black Box, and Broken. You may have recommended some of these but I'm sure your viewers will like them.
The movie I thought I would never watch again was "Grave of the Fireflies", but having done so now I can say it is always worth it. It is much easier to prepare yourself, and you can see the brilliance in different parts of the movie. Also, Audition is awesome!
DVD, you've recommended several vampire movies, but in the year or so since I've followed you have not recommended Only Lovers Left Alive, in my opinion the best modern vamp movie ever made. Directed by Jim Jarmusch, it stars Tom Hiddleston and Tilda Swinton, with memorable performances by Mia Wasakowski, Jeffrey Wright and the late great John Hurt and Anton Yeltsin. Coolest vampire movie ever.
Where do you find these overlooked films? Mona Lisa blood moon ?.. best flick I’ve watched in a long time.. who has ever heard of it and where did it come from? This utube channel is now my bible of films . Out standing
"The Man From Nowhere" is my number 1 recommendation on Tubi. It's a korean action movie that's insanely underrated and one of my favorite movies ever. The story is great and the action is top notch
I love the Way of the Gun. "Are you the brains of the outfit or his he?" "Tell you the truth, I don't think this is really isn't really a "brains" kind of operation"
Your #1 Pick "Way of the Gun" is among my favorites. I bought the DVD for about 5 bucks when "Blockbuster" was going out of business. As a matter of fact, I also purchased "A Man Apart" and "Daybreakers "around the same time As well as another Vin Diesel vehicle "Knockaround Guys". I revisit them often. I have a hard copy library for when my $ 100-a-month internet goes down.
Way of the gun is awesome. Love it. Soooo underrated. Cop shop is superb. Daybreakers is unique and well written. Keep recommending these great movies. Thanks
I've been a massive fan of "The way of the gun" since it came out, when I was passing the DVD around to everyone. Audition is creepy as hell and a must see. Burning great. The Road , one of my favs, that everyone hates, a not feel good movie. Thanks for the suggestions, very good.
Great FLICK CONNECTION Darren. I particularly rate The Iceman highly. Many thanks for sharing with us, much appreciated. Just finished watching The Day of The Jackal on Sky Atlantic and this is an excellent series, with several references to the original film. Thanks again Darren 🫶🫶🫶

I really liked the Iceman but unfortunately I had watched it after I had read Philip Carlo's - The Ice Man: Confessions of a Mafia Contract Killer. It's just the book details the brutality of his crimes a lot more, one of the craziest books I ever read. Great movie, I just wish delved a little deeper with a slightly longer run time
Oh DVD, "The Invitation', what a corker (that's a good thing). Mate, this list is possibly one of your best and typically enough it's on Tubi with all its ads. With movies this good mind you, I couldn't care less.
I actually like the sequel to Daybreakers more. It was called Daywalkers and it’s about red headed children that are able to be out in the sun during the day without getting more freckles. Haunting stuff. Apparently they have no souls.

Darren wonderful list 👍💯 do you think Season ot the Witch is just a knock off of the movie Name of the Rose? 🥂
Cop shop free here on YT, too. Thanks always for the recs.
Cassandra’s Dream is free to watch on TH-cam right now.
I surf alot of trailers that often disappoint, or misrepresent their greatness, but I always come back to you for recommendations across multiple free and paid platforms. You do not disappoint. Great channel. Thank you!
The Way of the Gun and The Edge are both FANTASTIC!
amen!!!!!!!
Oh the invitation and audition are super good movies that you talk about for years to come. The end of the invitation threw me for a loop. Well done!
Don’t sleep on Tubi. I find myself there than any other streamer. Tough to sort through but they have the library.
Same. Between TH-cam and Tubi. But I do like Netflix as it gas some good anime and horror movies and Asian stuff.
Yeah, I love Tubi. They have a lot of my fave old classics
Oh yes my friends testify I also love tubi as well man it is the future I'm telling you right now tubi rocks!!!
This is one of the best pick lists you have had in awhile! Well done and Thank You!
I love Tube. They have some great hidden gems. Old school campy 80's and 90's are the best!!!
FINALLY seeing Way of the Gun get some love! It's one of my TOP 3 favorites! ( with True Romance and 13 Assassins ) I literally recreated Ryan Phillippe's t-shirt from this movie and put it on Etsy.

I've watched it a couple times back when it hit rental/streaming. Can't stomach the violence these days 😅
The Edge is one of my all time favorite movies, criminally underrated. Season of the Witch and The Road are definitely worth watching.
The Road is a phenomenal movie. The director used real footage. One was on Mt. St. Helensand one in Pennsylvania.
The commentary on the DVD is fascinating. How he made the movie.
I do wish they could have had more from the book, but what they're allowed to show in movies vs the book, one of the best books I've read too.
Hesher gets better every time you watch it . Fantastic Movie !!
love these Tubi lists, even though I sub to most every other service
sometimes a "free" flick hits the spot
Ben Foster is an absolutely amazing actor. I 1st noticed him in 3:10 To Yuma. Even though Russell Crowe and Christian Bale are the headliners, his performance makes the movie. The intensity of his character is 2nd to none! Watch it, it's one of the best westerns you will ever watch.

I'm new to the channel but what a great video! It helps that many of the movies detailed are aligned with my interests lol. I subscribed.
I always look forward to his videos. Some great flicks are not promoted like the big money productions, but Darren always finds picks that I wouldn't have watched if not for his video!
Great list! Thanks!
Hesher is fantastic. It's one my favorite little-known movies
"Three identical twins"=triplets. 🙂
Hesher is a favorite film of mine. Glad to see it get some love!
Great recommendation on "The Way of the Gun"...one of the best movies, period.
I loved night shift! I also loved mr mom. He was great in that too.
Thanks for the suggestion. Benicio del Toro is basically excellent in anything that he's in. And while that opening was "shocking" it was excellent.
I cannot recommend ‘Burning’ highly enough. One of the few movies I still think of often and tell people about it
I want to see "Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon." A solid list, I'll have to check out Tubi!
You make excellent film recommendations. While I've seen a few of these movies before, especially The Edge which I've seen 4 or 5 times over the years, including just last week on tubi. The way of the gun is a banger of a flick. Awesome pick, a must watch. Love the channel keep up the great work.
probably your best list i've seen
I love how you snuck in a pic of Baldwin looking old @24:58
Another banger list Darren! The Road also floored me man. Took many years until I went back to it.
Thanks DVD, gotta couple of movies to add to the list! Keep up the good work, my man...
Great list.
ty for the recco of "the messenger". so good and yet almost forgotten.
Saw Way of the Gun in the theatre and loved it ever since. Great soundtrack for the movie as well. I enjoy introducing this movie to people because as Darren stated, criminally underrated, so many have never heard of it.
Darren: Here's a short list of my recent tubi favorites. Some of these are foreign/international and will require reading subtitles, but all are tight, thrilling, mysteries or dramas:

The departed is easily my favorite mob movie. I know there are so many but the characters, the story the twists and the ending. I love it.
Limitless has an excellent followup TV series.
@eols2190 ive not seen any of these. Thank you!
@@CantankerousDave thank you!
The movie I thought I would never watch again was "Grave of the Fireflies", but having done so now I can say it is always worth it. It is much easier to prepare yourself, and you can see the brilliance in different parts of the movie.

I watched The Invitation yesterday based on your suggestion in another vid, glad I watched it, great movie.
I don't know where to start. Too many bangers on this list.
Hardcore. Watch The Road again? Not ready, not alone.
I have seen about 1/3 of these movies and they are definitely real bangers. So I will need to check out the rest for sure.
Loved the Edge
Best channel on TH-cam. Full stop.
I love the Way of the Gun. "Are you the brains of the outfit or his he?" "Tell you the truth, I don't think this is really isn't really a "brains" kind of operation"
Day reakers is on the list in about 30min. For as much as I love the Underworld movies I can't believe I missed this one.
The Road is one of the most devastating movies I’ve ever watched!
Your #1 Pick "Way of the Gun" is among my favorites. I bought the DVD for about 5 bucks when "Blockbuster" was going out of business. The Way of the Gun has my favorite car chase of all time!
I saw "The Edge" when it came out in the theaters. Great movie!
Great suggestions! Thanks!
You need to make a near dart T-shirt with Paxton on it. I hate it when they ain’t shaved.
they have SO MUCH good stuff for free right now 🤯 I made myself a big ol' playlist!
"The Way of the Gun", I know for a fact someone used the dialogue to make a song. That is wild. I have to watch the movie now.
19:43 Three identical twins? LOL. I know you meant triplets, but that description is priceless.
Hi, love your channel. *A Girl Walks Home Alone* was not from Iran, it it was SET in Iran but filmed in Taft, CA.
"Hehehehehe" -audition. Such a f*cked up flick. Love it for being so shy then releasing. Great list DVD! Thanks bud
Just watched The Duellists on Tubi...one of my top 5 favorite
Way of the gun is awesome. Love it. Soooo underrated. Cop shop is superb. Daybreakers is unique and well written. Keep recommending these great movies. Thanks
running scared Paul walker is def on my list! should've been on yours, respectfully
Triplets ( Three identical twins ? 🤔
The greatest movie on Tubi is
"Tucker and Dale vs Evil"
Hostiles is a great movie!
Rough news about Tubi Recommendations, To all us Canadians it's not the same line up. That being said seeing out every movie this man talks about. Their all bangers. Thanks dude!
Canadian availability is always in the Top Pinned Comment.
Say Christian Bale only made a couple of westerners? Ben Foster was also in 3:10 to Yuma w Bale & Russell Crowe.
If I remember, Woodys character in 'Messengers' was career military & Ben's was training under him. So, maybe that's why Woody wasn't supposed to be quite as intense as Ben because these were his literally first death notifications to families of his Fallen Brothers. Js And Ben is a super intense actor in about everything he does.
The Road is an incredible one-watch (seen it 3 times)...what they do with the looks in people's eyes is crazy
Great list as usual. Thanks. Just wondering, you mentioedd Anthony Hopkins as one of the top 3 actors of all time. Whom do you consider to be the other two?
The edge..that black guy getting mauled by the bear was pretty disturbing.
The Road was an awesome movie.
I watched both Copshop and The Invitation, per your recommendation.
It turns out they both feature Toby Huss as a lunatic. What are the odds?
Copshop was a nice Tarantino-light film.
But the "reveal" at the end of The Invitation turned out to be underwhelming.
They did give you clues along the way. And the rest of the film pretty much fell in line.
Sadly, one of the advantages to being a cynic is that one is rarely surprised.
Thanks for the recs.
There you go with "SHOCKINGLY" again... 1000s to choose from, but you really like this one 🤔
I just watch Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon. It was a good movie! Thanks for the recommendation.
Sweet TaTa's. Spectacular movie list!
Season of the Witch was very well done.
The Invitation is great!
Three identical twins? or a set of triplets?
Love the road ,seen it two or three times .
THANKS
The Way of the Gun, 100% must watch!
Dude you crushed it on this list, tip to tail.
He’s her sorta reminds me of the film Garden State a bit…is there anything to that?
I agree, Derek, the Iceman is so damn good & I think it’s better than the Irishman too. I looked up the serial killer that Michael Shannon portrays & they have interviews with him in prison. It was absolutely chilling although facinating.
Thanx,D.!!🍿🎬♥️
Also appreciate your reviews
I considered Tubi my best kept secret for awhile, still enjoying it.
Tubi is awesome
Michael Shannon's performance literally made Man of Steal for me.
Cassandra's Dream is a very tight morality tale. Great acting.
Lol nice shirt!
9:50 Yeah, wheelhouses don't have width. Wheelhouse means area of greatest strength. You are using the wrong word. What you meant seems to be more along the lin9es of a narrow _category, selection,_ or _list...._ Wheelhouse isn't even in the same conceptual neighborhood, let alone a synonym.
Copshop was very entertaining! Not simply action but the characters where interesting making the movie great.
I really liked the Iceman but unfortunately I had watched it after I had read Philip Carlo's - The Ice Man: Confessions of a Mafia Contract Killer. It's just the book details the brutality of his crimes a lot more, one of the craziest books I ever read. Great movie, I just wish delved a little deeper with a slightly longer run time
Some real good bangers here
The movie of "The Road", as with the novel, is sad but extremely well done. Highly recommend.
3:12 I very much enjoyed Season of the Witch. I very much enjoy 98% of his movies! Lol
⚠️ If you are suffering from depression or just a little delicate then watch, The Road, with a "friend".
Do those sleep earbuds block out smoke alarms? That could be problematic.
