    Big time value. I have purchased land and will be putting in my own driveway (about 250 feet). I do have a question. In this video you used a box blade. What is the benefit of the box blade for grading over a land plane? I have both but have not used either. My guy that is removing the trees is scheduled to do his thing in the next month or so. Thank you for your videos. I learn a ton from you. Be safe.

    funny how the work will find you when you have equipment. grading a long driveway for neighbour on a skidsteer and others are hiring me or tracking me down. Ty for your driveway tips for this private do-er

    When you replace or up grade your excavator will you look at a Kubota. Mike Morgan on outdoor with the morgans has a Kubota excavator not sure of the size but it's very impressive with how much power it has.

    We had to rent a Kubota kx71 to put down some drains a few days back and it’s super fast and super jerky lol. Our 88 was 100 miles away so we rented the little one but it’s totally different than running a larger machine 😂

    Thats why corrugated pipe under your driveway would be a bad idea use sdr 35
    If u do use corrugated pipe keep your ditch narrow as the pipe or it will crush

    "Road Bond" is not a term I have ever heard used here up north. Judging from how you use it as a base material, the quarries here refer to this as "crusher run". Really works well on slopes if compacted with a vibratory roller. Thanks for the video.

    I'm glad that I found your channel! I have a small John Deere tractor and now a John Deere mini excavator and constantly hear, you should have a skidsteer or you can't do this with what you have! Then after the work has been completed, the customer is amazed at what you can do with what you have. It's a constant battle with people who think that you should rent different equipment or get bigger equipment when it may take a bit longer with what you have BUT the job still gets done! I always say that it has alot to do with the operator. You have to have that positive mindset and know the limitations of your equipment

      I guess it depends on whether or not you have an infinite amount of time to do something. Watching guys try to grade with a tractor is painful. Some people just can't grasp how to use a skid steer. What this guy did in 3 hours grading his driveway I could have done in 15 minutes with a skid steer back dragging.

      If you want to just play with your toys for a few weeks this is the way to go. But in reality spreading gravel for a driveway should only take a few minutes. A skilled truck driver should be able to sprinkle an even layer the length of your driveway to start. Then maybe an hour of back dragging with a skid steer and you're done.

    Looks good brother, sold my Massey Ferguson last week, ordered a L2501HST just so I could be more like you! 🤣 EA boxes are steep, probably going with a heavy duty Catawba brand made over near Taylorsville NC. Locally NC made using US steel..... on my Japanese tractor, oh well.

    That machine must have nice foot pedals, it took you about a minute to a minute-and-a-half to quit using the dummy sticks so you could grade. I can't remember from your original everything attachment video when you got your new box blade. Did you get the swing on your back blade?

    Great video! I'm in the process of rehabilitating my camp road. It will be challenging. Not much gravel to work with mostly rocks and quite a grade in a log stretch. Probably need heavy equipment but I only have a JD 1025R. Have some water bars on steepest run using 1 1/2-inch gravel and 3-inch gravel. A novice operator so I'm gleaning as much info as I can. Nice to see someone make it look easy.

    Yes they are jerky...my Bobcat 325 (7900 pound machine) is the same way but if needed I idle it down a bit but keep it in the power band. Never ran a big machine but probably would spoil me....LOL

    Value beyond a price tag just watching you position that tractor, wait for the rock over, then gently glide that Blade to the sound! Total Master of your Trade and your creeping the controls to set that Box Blade is Art Work My Good Southerner! This is like the third time watching and it never get's old, pick something new up each time on your operator skills I transform to My lot for hours of frustration and confusion of not being able to capture the 'Magic' ! Ha, Lol. My 94 Honda 22 HP I just picked up is so 'touchy' on the controls? Adjusting the float helps but the lift is impossible to get to slowly 'creep' up and down on the hi-lo spots. My point of view is lower with my 5 ft. Tarter BB, I can't quite see into the box to watch that front blade? Angle of the dangle, what kills Me is to watch you skim in reverse pushing the blind spot of the back blade! Touching just the edges or a slight high spot. You make it look easy My Main Man! Enjoy the vid's and Southern accent/hospitality. Reminds Me of some old AF buddies from Virginia, Kentucky and of course South Carolina. Stay safe and healthy from Northern Nevada!

    @williambryant5946 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    You don't think that driveway being as steep as it is could have used a water bar or two? That dip you filled in wasn't a messed up one was it? Just seems like that was a good place to have one right there above the cut in for the approach that leads up to the basement. I don't know because I wasn't there and it's very hard to see the steepness of hills and which way things are pitched on video that you can see when on the ground doing the grading. I'd imagine though that the driveway would have pitched away from the retaining wall toward the ditch on the hill and if that was a fouled up water bar it would pitch that way as well. Any thoughts or clarification you can enlighten me with about what I've pondered about here would be helpful in seeing the broader picture rather than the small one I'm seeing on my phone. Good video. Ready to see how you tackle that driveway/switchback on the side of the mountain. That should provide some interesting videos. From Rowan county NC, stay safe and stay well. -Wil 👍

    Kubota makes good equipment. I was determined to buy one, but the sales person never followed up like we had agreed, then I could not get him on the phone. Therefore I went to Bobcat, got great service, huge rebate, 0% financing, and was able to go up a size in machine.

    You don't use your front end loader on the tractor much I noticed. My first tractor was a shuttle shift and I didn't like all the dang spinning it wanted to do. Then I traded for a hydrostatic transmission tractor and it will handle the front end loader awesome similar to a backhoe. I miss your videos that you have been delaying. Keep em coming Todd. Enjoy your Toddcast.

    If you have a lot of washout in a drive and you have to bring a lot of road bond in, is it best to compact it in layers or all at once. I know you get better compacting in layers but was wondering if each compacted layer would attach to the other layers. I have a lot of deep washout and might need 8"-12" of road bond.
