I got to try it this way on a Weyerhaeuser load this last week. Using the tarp machine to support the weight while you fiddle with the line up was something I never even considered before but wow what a difference it makes...thanks!! Now, if only we could get a machine that would pull them off, fold them, roll them and put them away....that would be something!!! Thanks man....
I run out of Grayling, Michigan here from Weyerhauser about 3 times a week and I love their strap system they have. Saves throwing straps and makes tarping so much easier.
I appreciate these tarping vids, as i am thinking about trying flatbed and these give me a great perspective of what it will be like having to deal with tarps and how to go about tarping. As always thank you
Fantastic pice of equipment if recall in of your videos there was a other type of trapping machine . Great video . I am 51 i have high blood pressure I am tablets I going for my checkup tomorrow .stay safe
While I was watching this video I got a call that everything was confirmed and my drug test was negative I’ll be starting the classes with maverick in 3 weeks
Lumber and gypsum loads are the impediments to any flatbed hauling by me. Maverick and TMC do not guys like me who are afflicted with acrophobia. ☹️ Perhaps I should send this video to recruiters to the aforementioned companies.
80 miles that’s a lot 😅man I’m a local driver and they have a Costumer that wants his freight tarp and it’s only 10 minutes distance from pick up to delivery it’s Fucking crazy 👺also I’m in Cali sunny everyday
He said in the beginning he took the opportunity to make a video since some people were asking him about it. This would have been the time to make the video, not when you've got a 1000 mile haul and need to get your ass on the road. Also.. some shippers require you to tarp loads no matter what, even if you're just going across town.
Maverick has very strict policy regarding tarping, if the load assignment states "requires tarp" you better put them on. While realistically yes, there's no tarp needed for such a short distance but if the consignee reports that you didn't tarp you're gonna be getting a call. We're not supposed to un-tarp until instructed to do so, partially for this very reason. The other main reason we have to wait is that the consignee is at fault and full risk of damaged or wet product if it rains as soon as they tell us to un-tarp. If we take it upon ourselves to un-tarp or not tarp in the first place then its at our risk if it decides to rain.
If you want to get fired don’t worry bout tarps retired from prime yr ago I saw many lazy drivers let go because of not tarping lds plus you get 100 to 150 extra for tarp pay
That’s cool ! 👍🏽
Thanks for video

I was at this exact place last week. First lumber load tarp and first time using that machine and it was interesting to say the least 🤣
👍
Just a heads up normally if the load is 5ft and under or even just 5ft and some inches steel tarps will cover it just fine. Save the ole back😂
Ours won't if it is the width of the deck and also the length of the trailer. There will be gaps. Maverick wants 100% of the load covered.
I love your content, I just joined Maverick this month, any advice?
Be patient at the shipper/receiver, keep your distance on the road, and watch for stupid drivers.
Good Afternoon be safe 🙏 💛 ❤ God bless

What is the hiring process like?? Before that final phone call telling you everything was confirmed.
Awesome!
Happy new year

Watch the blood pressure: I am not abke to qualify for a 2-year card due to blood pressure medication that I am taking.
Me either. I go once a year for my card and twice a year to my doc for chrckups

80mph? i thought Maverick trucks were governed to 65?
They are governed at 65 but alow 70 for 30 minutes or 1 hour per 24 hours I believe
Yep. 65, and as stated by @thomastaylor, we have PassSmart which allows for 70 mph for up to 2 hours a day. I don't have that turned on on my truck.
Are you on any bloodpressure medication, and if someone is can they still get hired at Maverick
I am and they can if it's under control
@@BigTrucking Cool
...thanks
I’ve loaded there 😊
Just have the forklift driver put the fucking, tarps up there and lets go
At that company you are not allowed on top of the freight
Like anyone wants to wait around painstakingly to watch you do it the maverick way
Surprisingly they do.
If it's only 81 miles, why tarp? Can't you just look at the weather to make sure there is no rain in the vicinity?

It was required to tarp. Miles or weather didn't matter.
