sorry to be so off topic but does anyone know of a method to log back into an instagram account?? I somehow lost my login password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me
@Jamie Darren Thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Tarping is therapeutic to me. I think it’s the left side of my brain in action. When we loaded glass it was like a competition to see who wrapped the best and had the least wind movement. 👍🏽🤘🏽
Thank you for taking the time out to share your knowledge with us newbies! I gained a lot from this video and feel much more confident in tarping my first tarp load tomorrow. You rock!
I’d underscore the part about taking your time. I took 6 hours to do my first load. I did it right but it took a while to do it. Good on you Driven. I hope this channel does you a modicum of the good it’s doing for your viewers.
One of the better tarping videos. A good few very helpful tips. Plus, you don't see bedders hoisting tarps like you did. For some reason they avoid that like the plague!
So true about newbies, it’s taking me about 2.5 hours to tarp and secure a 35’ trailer. It’s unacceptable, but it’s where I’m at. I am getting better with it each time though. Mainly, I just run out of gas and get tired. I’m dealing with 100+° temps in the Deep South and tarping just wipes me out. I have to go shower immediately, every time I tarp a load.
Yes its a bitch especially when the freight is really tall. Completely wears you out and then having to drive afterwards its rough ! They should make light weight tarps because the heavy ass tarps is very difficult
I'm not trying to be mean Billy, but it looks like you can afford to lose a bunch of weight by your pic. I cut out all sugar and processed food and lost 40 lbs in 3 months. I went from 210 to 170. You'd be surprised how much more energy and stamina you will have. Stay safe!
What I got from from that video was basically the look at the load pay attention do the signs as you're entering the facility read everything know what kind of load you're hauling and be prepared to get it done and have your tarp in a manner to where it's easy to be applied and pay close attention to detail to make sure everything is secured properly
I'm also a flatbedder!! Love it! I do mostly tarped loads. Most of them not always even! Good job on the video brother this is very good for beginners. You are very clear and understandable and very explanatory! Pedal to the metal brother!!
I learned 2 use moving blankets 2 protect my tarp from sharp edges. I don't have enough room on my truck 4 all dis. Wow. May have 2 add another storage box!
This video might be over. Year old but I picked up steel channels in Cartersville a few weeks ago. I didn’t have moving pads but I had felt pads all the other drivers looked at me like I was crazy for putting them on my corners but I was the only one who car out without rips in my tarps. Thanks man!!! Stay driven!!
Im fixin to get back into flatbed at age 42. I first did it for about 2 1/2 years on and off in 2014. Then oilfield for about a year and a half. Now after doing reefer for last 2 1/2 yrs I am going to return to the open-deck world with a stepdeck this time.
Can’t Believe you would give up the ease of slanging doors and sliding tandems to throw chains straps and tarps!! If I knew this I would have saved my flatbed gear for ya
Good video! I remember tarping when I was a rookie, hauling steel out of U..S. Steel in Gary. Best advise I got was to watch the "old timers" ! I wasn't the fastest, but damn it looked good! It kinda becomes second nature......
The only problem I see is something a Utah DOT gave me a paper about. He pulled me into the scale one morning in Price,UT,now granted I pull tankers.I had 3 bags of chains tarp strapped to my catwalk behind the truck. He informed me that any device used to secure something, anything,to a commercial vehicle has to have a load rating and tarp straps do not have one. So in other words you can use the tarp straps to make it look pretty, but you’d better put a strap,or something over the tarps or it’s a load securement fine.
Very nice instructional video tho im glad I picked the right one, I've done flatbed loads but is been so long I felt a need of refreshment on each step. Good details on how to protect your tarp and holding it down properly, I'm getting back to flatbeds and this is very helpful thanks brother be safe out there!
I've been on platform for over 3 decades I never rush along Especially when I tarp I finally threw away my second set of tarps last year. Take care of your gear, it keeps the dollars in your pocket. Thanks, man. I just started skateboarding, and I had no idea how to tarp. I did my best witch it held good, but i didn't think about the sharp corners. So, a brand new tarp with a bunch of holes. Pricey mistake: I should have watched your video first. But well, better late than never just again thank you bro.
Something I've learned, from packing, on a motorcycle: Those two-rolls, on your dry bag (tarp)...make everything, inside of that, water-tight. You can essentially, ford the creek, fall in the pond, etc...and your dunnes, will stay nice and dry. He's packed a good, and dry load, here...no matter, the weather.
Just a heads up am doing this as a job and hired a bunch of people so I will be sending them your video starting from today you about to get some more views
I remember when I first started flat bedding , i got coil loaded and didn’t know about the blankets because the first couple of loads were on a canestoga ,but i just threw the tarp on it and bungied it down and headed down the road ,it started raining so hard that I couldn’t really see the load while driving , when I got to the delivery the tarp was completely shredded
Yeah the padding of tarps is not exactly widely talked about LOL. My very first tarped load, before Mercer, was air-conditioning units and I actually padded them and my tarps were still shredded to pieces 🤷🏼♂️

On the ends, pull the corners across first, then flap the centre over them. That way it is cleaner with fewer pockets to trap water, and less chance of the airflow ballooning the sheets. I see you are wearing gloves, but be wary of wearing rings. In any manual work they can catch and result in serious injury. A fellow driver lost a finger when he put his hand on the edge of a trailer as he jumped off it. Very good advice at 3-00. This is great video I’m in process of getting my own trailer I been doing flatbed for almost 5 months and currently renting a trailer w side kit and going to be in flatbed only and this is teaching me any advice on what equipment to buy as far as tarps bungies and so on?

I dispatch for a broker, and this helps me understand why people refuse to do tarp loads or otherwise need more on the rate.
Thank you for your work!!
Yes its a bunch of work and the tarp is heavy as hell. I refuse tarp loads as well because it absolutely should pay more on the rate to tarp
they typically do pay for having you tarp it, depends on your broker. Some pay $100 and ive seen some pay $200.
@@loudmerchantgaming5448 update : I tarp now. The extra money helps and its good exercise. Might not do it during winter months though lol
