I remember I was using flygon, I used dig and my opponent used either earthquake or the other shakey one. And even though Flygon was underground it wasn't affect by it because of it's fly ability LMAO

On my first playthrough of Sapphire as a kid, I managed to catch a shiny Trapinch. I had no idea that it evolved into such a badass Pokemon, so I was so stoked when it finally did.
Sadly, I didn't realize the rarity of shiny Pokemon at the time, so I saved over that file... that had a shiny Flygon....
And that's why I'm writing this message to you from beyond the grave, dear friends.
I remember in Platinum when I was super young that girl in Hearthome that gave you an eevee gave me a shiny one and then I evolved it into Jolteon 🤦♂️😭

Believe mate I've done everything there is to do in that game including the Gold Symbols. I own 3 emeralds 3 rubys and both ORAS, played Sapphire a couple of times even though somehow I never managed to own it and overall played the hell out of the Hoenn games and still do with ORAS. We're talking 6000 hours plus.
Found my gameboy sp yesterday and I just need to find my charger and I'll be playing emerald again too. Missed it

I'm replaying Emerald rn. I've always loved dragons. So long ago when I first played through the game Flygon and Salamence were the strong pillars of my main team. Couldn't have finished the game without them. Unfortunately, about a decade ago I lost all my Pokemon in a horrible accident. I sure do miss those two. Especially Flygon. Flygon was to me as Pikachu is to Ash.

Surprised being able to teach Blazekin Earthquake and Thunderpunch wasn't mentioned considering you can go against type advantages like Rock, Water, and Flying without being discouraged.

Breloom can get deceptively nasty in the later metas too. Technician Breloom with spore, bullet seed, mach punch, and swords dance is one scary ass Pokemon. Give him a focus sash to tank a super effective hit and he's damn near unstoppable

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on Slaking. Combining its off-the-charts Physical Attack stats with off-the-charts Physical Attack-based moves that require recharge, and will do so during Slaking's Truant turn, such as STAB Hyper Beam in Gen 3/STAB Giga Impact in Gen 4+, make it an absolute force to be reckoned with. Plus, it has a decent physical defense stat, which countered all fighting type moves in Gen 3, and it's an HP tank. Can't really go wrong with Slaking except with Ghosts. I honestly thought about naming my Slaking with Hyper Beam in Emerald "Death Star"...
Late reply, but whatever. Another thing is that if we look at double battles, slaking can lose its ability. Pairing him up with a slowking means that you can take his ability away and replace it with slowkings. This was even used as a legitimate combo in pokemon coliseum by Evice. Taking away his ability makes Slaking a force to be reckoned with, thanks to his bulky nature and ability to use healing moves.

I boot up my Slaking Holding Silk Scarf and use Amnesia(because my nature boosts defense and decrease sp.defense) and STAB Hyper Beam!!!

everytime i played ruby i also caught a zangoose and leveled him up very high. he is easy to level up and has insane attack which gets even better with swords dance. crush claw and slash and even arial ace to cover his fighting type weakness. he is also my favorite pokemon of all time

One other thing Milotic can do is incorporate Mirror Coat to counter against powerful electric and grass type attacks. Given it's vast Special Defense state, it can tank one hit, then hit back at the opponent for twice the amount of damage.

M_Dutch97 he may be sorta underrated in an ingame playthrough but in Smogon/VGC etc... yeah its not gonna cut it bro behind giants like Salamence, Tyranitar, Landorus (Therian) blah blah blah
He's totally overshadowed by Garchomp (same type combination, better stats and moveset).
Swampert can Learn Ice Beam so the problem with its 4x weakness to grass is solved
Except for the fact that
A. Swampert is a physical attacker
B. It doesn't get STAB Ice Beam so it won't kill most grass types and
C. Most grass types are faster, and can easily OHKO you
Overall, it's still a good pokemon, but it can't kill grass types in its non-mega form
Then learn Blizzard.
That doesn't solve any of the problems I mentioned above

For the Top 10 Overpowered Sinnoh Pokémon of Generation 4, three obvious ones: Infernape, Garchomp, and Staraptor. Infernape because it's the same as Blaziken, only it can be used as a physical, special, or mixed attacker, Garchomp because of how powerful and fast it is, and Staraptor because it's the only Normal/Flying final evo that doesn't suck

basics of this series I've learned- 10-2 overused pokemon that are pretty good. 1- The regions pseudo legend dragon that everyone has used once and everyone hates fighting.

Yay, I FINALLY see someone talking about Swampert! The thing is easily in my favorites, but it doesn't get enough love. It's great to see someone confirm (for me anyway) that Swampert is the best of the fully-evolved Hoenn starters.

My only criticism with this video is that it overlooks the real problem with Salamence in gen 3, which was its ability to be a mixed sweeper. Special Attacking Salamence has access to Hydro Pump and Flamethrower, meaning Steel types, the only counter to dragons at the time, literally couldn't have a safe switch in to even check the threat. You basically were forced to guess what kind of Salamence your opponent was running, which is why Salamence was eventually moved up to ubers at the end of the gen 3 meta.

It's really irritating, when people who only played Fire Red/ Leaf Green talk crap about Charizard being the best pokemon in Gen. 1 & 2. Fire type was pretty lame and useless back then, and was using Arcanine even back then so I know how weak it was |D
+Lady Teddiursa It could be used, since the main game was never too difficult, but there were many problems with Fire types in the first 2 gens that made them poor choices.
For one, Fire types are weak to Water and Ground which were always very common types to use, hell, especially Earthquake. Second, it's only useful against Grass and Ice, the first one barely used by others, the other usually being partially Water, negating the weakness. Third, even if there was something weak against Fire, this type has a ridiculously bad moveset, with Sacred Fire and Fire Blast being the only really good Fire moves in the first 3 Gens, the former beign a Ho-oh exclusive move and the latter being a TM.
Even though nowdays the fanbase tends to overglorify Charizard, but in reality, the only really good Fire types in the first 2 Generations (not counting legends) were Arcanine and Houndoom. Stat wise, Arcanine was the strongest non-legendary Fire type until Volcarona appeared, had a really great movepool with nice egg moves, even had Extremespeed which was exclusive for Arcanine back then, Houndoom on the other hand, while lacking Arcanine's stats, had a better moveset and the Dark type which was a nice thing to have back then.
+MidBoss666 Totally agreed. Arcanine along with Houndoom were beasts back then. Arcanine with Flamethrower and extremespeed(pp up to max) was enough to defeat even giovannis gym if played good

Ok, so it has 2 weaknesses to grass and electricity by being water, but it negates Ice's weaknesses to steel and fire. Plus, even though it's weak to grass, you can still knock them out with Ice Beam. oh and you can wreck rock-types with water type attacks.
Also, it has a LOT of bulk and a LOT of HP.

You are when you die to practically any bulky Water-type or any strong physical attacker with access to Earthquake, Focus Punch, or Brick Break
@@MorganKing95 obviously, but Aggron is very useful in the game, he is bulky, and against the Elite Four he can do a very good job. In-game he is pretty good, instead in competitive he sucks.

Gen 3 I think is my favorite. But that may be biased. After gen 3 was when I fell out of Pokemon, and I'm only just now playing Pokemon games again a decade later. But Pokemon Sapphire was the game I invested most of my time into and actually played long enough to have a team of lvl 100's

Now seeing the claydol here I might add my shiny claydol that I was lucky enough to find while trying to get up in skytower for Rayquaza. It only knew/used selfdestruct though so I am really happy I saved. Should I use it though? Opinions please

In gen 3 it is standard to run Fire Blast on Salamence, to deal with Skarmory, one of the most important targets in the ADV metagame.
When I was playing Pokemon Expert Emerald, (Extremely hard emerald but with all 386 Pokemon) I swept half of Steven's lvl 100 team with a level 81 metagross. Talk about op
so I wanted to raise a bagon (salamence) in omega ruby, so what should I train in super training? atk and special atk or atk and speed?

Slightly surprised that Shedinja wasn't on here, considering his Wonder Guard. 4 more gens later and we still don't have a pokemon who has mastered defensive coverage quite as well as Shedinja.

Swellow was a gen3 Hoenn pokemon, maybe not big in the meta at the time, but still kickass overall.

@@tsuchan5828 Guts actually takes off the Halved attack caused by burn, combined with Facade (a base 140 attack, thanks to Burn) and let's not forget that Facade is a Stab move as well.

Yeah, Metagross sure is great. And in my case Steven picked the one to leave me very very carefully, earning me a truely rare gem with it's whooping 0 Attack IV
In Emerald, PKMN with Pickup maximize their odds of finding Full Heal at lvl71. You can sell those & buy Lava Cookie for profit; if only one at a time, it does the same thing, from some bitch next to the gondola. (mountain elevator) Also Linoone, Skarmory, & Gyarados are best for HM. (Linoone x3)

I like that team, some minor tweaks here and there, but over all it's good.
My team
Swampert - Hydro pump, earthquake, protect, endeavor
Aggron - Solarbeam (TM), protect, earthquake, iron tail
Salamence - Fly, outrage, fireblast, earthquake
Manectric - Spark, thunder, crunch, flash (oooops)
Alakazam - Psychic, recover, future sight, shadow ball
Last but not the least.....
Absol - Slash, aerial ace, crunch, swords dance
My absol has perfect nature, max attack stat (ev training), followed by sp. Att and speed stat (ev training). This boi just cleared the battle dome all the way to the top (open level, lvl. 100). Even managed to beat the boss.
Slaking should be on your list too. Damn attack stats will make your pokemon beg for mercy
Talks about Breloom having access to Spore. Shows animation for Stun Spore.
I like how this guy battles the op pokemon with route 1 pokemon which are under lv.5
