I don't think I've ever been more baffled with a strategy in Survivor than Zane's. Also I think Wendy Jo from Nicaragua deserves a mention just from the tribal alone.
PS: I do agree with your first place, though, just by virtue of the fact that NO ONE wins with the Russell Hantz strategy, including Russell Hantz, obviously.
Tom vs Ian, Andrea vs Brenda (twice), Clarence vs Teresa, Joe vs Keith, Jason vs Parvati, yeah there's some good ones here. Half of these ended in one player ending the challenge on purpose too.
Garrett Adelstein is pretty much everything wrong with Survivor nowadays. Nobody realizes the Outlast portion of survival is just as important as Outwit and Outplay, and so almost everyone is just focusing on "BIG MOVES, IDOLS, CRAZY TWISTS" to make them look good. In the long run, the person who was the least flashy typically has a better chance of getting far and winning in the end. Nick Wilson, Adam Klein, Michele Fitzgerald, and Tyson Apostol won without being excessive in trying to make a big move, just to name a few in our modern era of Survivor.
PersonalPerson except Garrett was doing the opposite of trying to make a big move. He literally sat everyone down in a circle and told them all who he was voting for and why. And Natalie made a ton of crazy flashy moves
And the biggest examples of how idols, crazy twists has affected the game adversely are: Ben from HHH, who needs no introduction, and the crazy Cirie tribal in Game Changers.
Great list, but I personally would've put Tony's flameout in Game Changers here (since the GC premiere covered the first two tribals). Day 1, Tony puts a target on his back by pretending to go for an idol hunt. He seems to recover by aligning with Sandra, and helps lead the pack against Ciera. But then, not even a day after he burns himself by building a "spy bunker" and trying to spy on Sandra. He reveals himself and then attempts to take out Sandra. Believe it or not, Sandra throws it all on him and Tony gets the boot. Tony was a huge mess that season, and it really proves that Trish was right.
Can you imagine being on that Ghost Island tribe, watching the show on TV months later and watching your tribemate pour half the rice into a disgusting dirty sock and then put it back and mix it all together? Lmao

There’s been a rumor that Parv was originally a hero and Sugar was a villain, but they didn’t want to have Parv on a team with so many people she played with previously (Candace, Amanda, Cirie) so they switched her and Sugar. Who knows if it’s true or not

It's crazy how Jacob being voted out in Ghost Island marked where I kinda gave up on the season. Something I've never done before or since. I'm just happy someone like Carson in 44 proved you can be a young superfan of the show and succeed. As long you don't go against the fastest fire maker the show has ever seen.

Garret was quite possibly the worst strategist in survivor history while also being the biggest challenge beast in survivor history watching that man run on the ocean floor was pretty damn impressive
This question has nothing to do with the video but I noticed this and I just don’t want to make an assumption so if I sound like a dummy then please correct me. I was rewatching HvV and I noticed in the intro when they show Jerri going after the ball in the slip n slide challenge, it was numbered 8 (in the intro), but during the game, she was numbered 6. And I also noticed J.T. was assigned to a ball even though I don’t recall him being assigned or even playing in a round. Is it either A) they do multiple takes/runs of the game just to get the best footage, or they B) play 1 game for a long time and compile the best rounds? It would be great if I could get an answer if not, I’ll just keep asking elsewhere.
Max Irmen Good eye! You may be able to notice this with a lot of challenges from every season. Basically whenever you hear Jeff say “first to 3/5/7” etc., it was actually a bit more. A “first to 5 wins” was probably a “first to 9” and they chose to edit it down with the best footage to make the most entertaining TV, or to save time, or both. That’s likely what happened with that slide challenge in HvV. It happens fairly often in every season, though the editors do a good job at hiding it.

I understand why you wouldn't include other countries versions of the show but I only discovered it because of your recommendation and thought it deserved to be mentioned. Also what about the guy who had the majority alliance and seemed to be well liked until he got to tribal and made homophobic statements?
Brian Alston are you talking about Jeff Varner in Game Changers? Because he was actually at the bottom. He made the homophobic statement in a desperate attempt to get the other two on his side in a five person tribe.

It's been a while since I've seen it, but from what I remember it was the first or second tribal council of the season. Shannon may have been the unofficial leader of the tribe and they had a fairly easy vote for a straightforward tribal. Until Shannon went onto an unprovoked homophobic rant.
There should be a season where all of the players are people who were already on Survivor but, were the first ones voted out of their season. It would be cool to find out how they all actually play, who wins and of course, who gets voted out first a second time, lol.
