Dude you're so right. This is the perfect pomade for the average Joe. I'm just know getting in to the pomade world, but so far this is definitely the best product I've encountered, especially with that price-point.
@@mateoa.9564 it's been yrs since I used gel but I don't think it turns as rock sharp solid till the point where u can't move it at all. Suavecitos firme pomade is a good solid and will stay any shape u want for hours and if u want to change it or if it gets messed up just apply some water and boom fixed.
great thorough review. 3 years after your initial review and the price has doubled. now averaging $12 for 4 ounces. no longer Mcdonalds pricing.....now applebees pricing.
Nice honest review bro . This firme pomade -works well on my wavy semi curly hair . When I try using other pomades , my side part hairstyle does not hold up because of my wavy hair . Nice video - Cheers
I've been using Reuzel blue for a long long time.I'm actually satisfied with the hold and the shine, talking always for water based pomades, plus it smells pretty good but heard about Suavecito Firme hold.Worth a try?
Does it work for short hair my hair is bearly getting there does it washing good or is like 3 Flowers that doesn't wash of I use Echo Styler Crystal Clear Gel and I washes off great
Love suavesito bro its one of my go to pomade product. Its cheap and does the job, i use this and layrite. But suavesito like u said is the Mcdonald of pomade. Thanks for the review 👍
Suavecito is ok. Imperial just makes your look better. You can comb it thru your hair and it holds great without a ton of shine. Layrite is good but i would have to say imperial is still the best
This was my 2nd pomade after first trying Uppercut Deluxe. Love the smell! I'm ready to try Anchor's original & matte, though. Even though it's water based, Suavacito-"Firme" is kind of harder to rinse out. I didn't do my hair yesterday & I think I'm getting some tangles because there's a bit left on there. My style is changing too to having my hair a shorter length & more of a natural, matte look to it.
Suavecito hard to rince out? the stuff just melts off your hair easy just with a rince even before shampoo. The thing that worries me is it leaves my hair very degreased like I shampooed it 5-7 times and even if I condition after it still feels dry. I enjoy Dax wave and groom better as I found that Aussie conditioner and shampoo just cleans it up in one go and never makes my hair feel dry. Waiting for a Murrays superior in the mail.
Yeah there we go. I think that's more what I meant to say about rinsing out Suavacito. Leaves my hair feeling kind of crappy once dried. My barber does like using a lot of the stuff, though, so takes some effort for it to rinse off.
the suavecito for me was a great introduction to the world of pomades. im really interested in trying some new ones as well. see how oil based ones are.
I love this stuff. Works better than imperial classic for me. Only problem is I hate the smell. Any suggestions for a water based with similar hold to suavecito firme, but with a better scent?
What do you recommend for thick wavy hair ? Im jus looking for a classic slick back look ? iwant a product capable of having my waves straighten out and lookin for a medium shine. ibeen looking for weeks bro can't come to any conclusions lol. so if can you get at me as soon as possible it'll be greatly appreciated.
Quentin Tarantino firme actuallymeans strong, on one side of the can itll say firme on the other itll say strong, take it from me, im mexican from california, and do speak spanish
This pomade is good I have wavy/thick hair and I love how it holds especially the smell is great and also it's the first pomade I tried and thanks for the video bro
+Daniel Hansana I use Gel myself (Eco brand from Amazon in a nice salon-quality bucket) for my price range wise but Suavecito out of all the big water-soluble brands online. Layrite I tried over three years ago. Has a bad hold, too strong of a feminine "Vanilla perfume" scent that I found oddly raunchy and other issues. Its also around $6 over-priced.
A couple questions: 1) How would you describe the scent of Suavecito Firme? You reference people being indifferent to it but don't actually mention or describe the scent 2) This question may be invalid, but I've seen your review of Blackship as well. Which one provides better hold? Blackship or Suavecito? This would be used in coarse asian hair to be slicked back. Also, the less shine the better
+Juan Diaz I'd actually say a mild cola-scent as well too. Much better then the overrated & over-priced by over 6$ Layrite's far too feminine scented vanilla stuff. Suavecito is hands down the best of the water-soluble pomades, indeed. But yeah I've said "cola-scent" before when asked and others have also said "Whoa?". lol ;-)
Do you recommend applying it with damp hair or just dry? Why? Thanks! :) Because when i apply it, it doesnt get hard at all. I live in the Phlippines by the way, does the heat here affects the performance of the pomade?
hey man I'm new to slicking back / undercut style and my hair dosent seem to stay it always parts down the middle any tips you could recommend I have strait med / long
I have the same problem bro, just use more product, maybe add hairspray. Try taking a comb around with you and then with a water based pomade you can just restyle your hair because it doesn't dry
I'm from Dallas tx I'm trying the pomp style but haven't found anything yet! And discovered this recently and tried it ! Bought it from a local barber shop ! This stuff is dope wow !! I found a winner 👍🏼
After nearly 2 years since this review and having tried all of these other new pomades (water and grease). What are your thoughts on this pomade now? I also return to this pomade because of the convenience of it (smell and hold), but don't like how dry it leaves my hair at times.
Spodermon I agree with you both very similar same hold if you get the strong hold but they both have very different scents swavecito has a more manly scent while layrite gas more of a vanilla scent to it and Layrite cost about $16 and suaveacito is only around $10
I find it funny seeing your opinion change over the years. I remember your first "how to style a pompadour" video and you were saying how Suavecito isn't a pomade and now you're completely different. Haha.
Can you do a review on the SMELL OF THE SUAVECITO POMADE VS. THE CHAMPKOM CHAMPION HAIR GEL THEY HAVE THE SIMILAR SENT JUST THE GEL IS WAY STRONGER OF SENT JUST NOT AS HEAVY AS THE SUAVECITO FIRME HOLD
Slowly more & more barbershops are starting to carry Suavecito. Suavecito has passed up Layrite in popularity. Yet I strongly feel that both versions of the "strong hold" are exactly the same. Though the scents might differ. I just wish they both had more of a shine. Make a "strong hold" water based pomade with a high shine and you got the perfect pomade!!!
i also have thick, wavy, and a big volume of hair... and let me say something... this doesnt work for me :( its good, but the pomp starts falling apart within an hour or something, after i run out of this, ill buy Dr. Rubin strong hold, that its a bee wax based pomade
I know this comment is 4 years ago, but he most likely got it off of the Suavecito website: suavecito.com It's about 60-80 dollars depending on where and when you get it
I tried applying this to my hair today and it just felt like I was putting glue in my hair. seriously! my hair was rock hard and I just couldn't form it into anything. the only pomade i used prior to using this was teddy boy matte by anchors and that one was perfect...it just felt like cream and it was so easy to style with. am i not applying suavacito right? using too much? hair not damp enough?
That's the case for many water soluble/based products. With Suavecito, it dries out quick, which leaves you with a finite amount of time to style with flexibility. Applying it to damp hair will give you a longer time frame, since the product will essentially have added water. However, what you experience with the rock hard hair is typical with Suavecito, so I wouldn't worry.
Harrison Truong Would you say it's good for any other hair styles besides the flat pomp he does? I usually just use wax/pomade to do a comb over or even just to slick it to the side for a kinda tousled look with my hands. it seems like suavecito is only made for that specific look and nothing else.
I've seen people do various styles with this, so it's dependent on how well you use that comb (I've read that people use blowdrying to really get the hair into place, but that's a lot of work). I used to use this for a loose slick back or combover.

Its cool how my older brothers grew up with the makers of Suavecito and every now and then they give back to the community of big bad Santa Ana 👌
Dude you're so right. This is the perfect pomade for the average Joe. I'm just know getting in to the pomade world, but so far this is definitely the best product I've encountered, especially with that price-point.
Suavecito is indeed the best and most affordable pomade! Its also the first pomade i used! Up till now, i love it. Great product.
It might work better, but the cheapest pomade I have come across was Axe Clean Cut Look, which was around 8 dollars at the time I saw it.
Does it dry up like gel?
@@mateoa.9564 yes
@@mateoa.9564 it's pretty solid which is good if its windy it holds really well.

do you have a recommendation for hair product that gives you equivalent hold of firme suavecito pomade without the crunchy feeling afterward?
Did they change there formula? I just bought it again and it's weak. no hold. it's also not a cola color
the suavecito for me was a great introduction to the world of pomades. im really interested in trying some new ones as well. see how oil based ones are.
The only oil base I love rn is lockhart goon gress
Layrite strong hold or firme is the question.
is this actually holds stronger than layrite super hold? could you tell me which water based pomade has stronger hold than those two?
thanks!

In the uk I can get 3 murrays tins online for like 6pound something on amazon it's a deal I buy twice a year maybe?
What comb did you use to form the part. Please and thank you.
Can you give us an idea on whether which is harder in strength & also which is easier in styling?
Do you like this or baxter clay pomade?
what if we have thick hair and struggle
rub hard and fast through your hands till its nice and warm and if needed rub through your hand then drop 3droops of wAter to ease up the product
is this similar to the mighty uppercut deluxe? similar? better? worse? shine difference?

Everybody’s expectations of Pomades were really low back then, compared to now
Good review! Thanks ! Just purchased suavesito 4 oz for $10 . Been using Johnny B gel . Will see how pomade works on my hair . I wear a faux hawk .
Pomade is not made for faux Hawks so good luck there
I recommend American crew firm hold gel 👍
when he says ''fear may'' does he mean firm hold...
firme** hahaha
No it's not firm hold it's firme hold which firme is used as slang, for tight, or cool...He said it right sort of, he just needed to roll his R

Is it good for outdoor activity?

You're right. It's definitely changed over time. The more pomades I try, the more 'open' I get to alternatives.
open mind is key
+The Pomp In my opinion, your hair, LOOKING THROUGH ALL YOUR VIDEOS, your hair looks the best in this video! I don't know why you hate it, looks bomb!
Just one question - how do you restyle a water-based pomade through the day? (Because it hardens up)
Wetcomb it. Get your comb or hand under the sink and get it wet (not too much just a decent amount) comb/run it through your hair. Done
Is it smells good? Can you tell me what is the smells like? I want to buy it but if it's not smells good, I change my mind
Kind of a cologne scent. I think it smells really nice.
suavecito original or firme hold
My friend tells me pomades damage hair. what do you think pls lemme know!!
Is it better than original
if you are using a mac, download quicktime player - they use a mirror image
What’s the best pomade?
is there any stores i can get this at besides online cause i cant find it at any walmart

Lol yea just bought my first pomade from a Barber shop I went to. He recommended it and used it when he styled my hair.
Suavecito Fear Me? Can't find it.
I have Thick and curly hair and this actually straightens out my hair and keeps it nice and straight all day.
i have thick curly hair as well how much pomade do you use in your hair like a finger size ? or more?
around 2 fingers
i also have thick, wavy, and a big volume of hair... and let me say something... this doesnt work for me :( its good, but the pomp starts falling apart within an hour or something, after i run out of this, ill buy Dr. Rubin strong hold, that its a bee wax based pomade
i miss u
Whats your favorite pomade?
Where did you get that Layrite comb at?
Amazon or on layrite.com
Any water based pomade that has a stronger hold than suavcito firme hold? And has more shine? Dislike how this product turns into a dry look.
This straightened my wavy hair, it's such a good pomeade
It looks black. My hair is rather gray, would this add a bit of black to my hair??
No, think of this as more of a gel. The product will harden so it may darken your hair ever so slightly, but that's because it won't be as shiny.
Yah i got some. Feels more like a gell that’s anything, dried hard. No good for my hair that’s for sure
oil based any thing for hair gives me flakes waterbased dose not
What is the best product for you?
How does it wash out? Is it easy, or does it take a few washes.
Easy
this thing sucks the life out of your hair! but great hair styling hehe
yo bro, where do you get such a big container?
I know this comment is 4 years ago, but he most likely got it off of the Suavecito website: suavecito.com
It's about 60-80 dollars depending on where and when you get it
What is you go to pomade
What pomade should I use for a combover? Thanks
Reuzel Green
Murray's Xtra heavy.
Cremo Pomade is good for me, but I have thick and wavy hair. It gives constant volume (or as much volume as desired) and a nice shine
I'm in!! I'm buying it, thanks pomp! Amazon here I come.
Does this work on thin hair
how tf did we get from suavecito to mcdonalds?

That's the case for many water soluble/based products. With Suavecito, it dries out quick, which leaves you with a finite amount of time to style with flexibility. Applying it to damp hair will give you a longer time frame, since the product will essentially have added water. However, what you experience with the rock hard hair is typical with Suavecito, so I wouldn't worry.

I've seen people do various styles with this, so it's dependent on how well you use that comb (I've read that people use blowdrying to really get the hair into place, but that's a lot of work). I used to use this for a loose slick back or combover.
