Ngl, you might be a bit off on number 1, how can you keep hope when someone forced you to kill your wife and unborn child?? That’s the point of injustice, even the name points to the idea. An injustice was done to Superman, and now he puts to question everything he once believed in because of the actions of a villain. One that even his own best friend had moments that he was going to kill this same villain, Batman didn’t because he wanted to prove he’s better but Superman? Why bother when you lost the one person you love the most and a child you were VERY excited for. It’s heart breaking and even more so, it’s moral breaking. because supermans hope wasnt in his family. It was for all of humanity. They still need saving and still need to be taught a better way. But okay people now a days put all of their meaning and reason for existence into their partner
I get the feeling that everyone who criticize Injustice's story.. haven't actually read it. And please stop saying that Superman can't go bad. Like that's innate in his character. That's lazy AF
I read some of those early Superman stories and he was a LOT more brutal back then! Like, he had to have killed at least one of those wife beaters that he punched through a wall .
I gotta disagree with the Injustice point, to begin with what was done to Superman was massively downplayed he didn't just get tricked to kill Lois, Joker tricked Superman to ruin his own life and when asked "Why?!?" he gets manically laughed at while Joker holds that over his head and basically promised to hurt him again,in this moment Superman was weighing everything the clown prince has done and decided to end his life, from here Diana, Sinestro, and Black Adam convinced him that he could prevent all that death and destruction if he was in charge, the message behind Injustice isn't that Superman doesn't stand for hope as prime Superman does set things right it's proving "The killing joke" wasn't just chance
Unless I missed a retcon, Darkseid was not Mister Miracle's biological father. Highfather was Scott Free's real father and according to the truce between Apokolips and New Genesis, Highfather and Darkseid were to raise each other's son (Orion was Darkseid's).
I disagree with this list, it's mostly silver age stuff and they were the style at the time till competition came. But injustice in the comics is mostly ww convincing Clark he needs to take over instead of grieving. He's a broken man who's being manipulated to following his worst impulses, which is pretty much why batman keeps that piece of kryptonite in the batcave. For superman, there is no hope anymore. He sees freedom as the opportunity for the worst to happen. Pretty much the joker did to supes what heath ledger joker did to Harvey, he brought them down to his level.
Yeah but It was uncharacteristic for Superman to snap (same thing happened to him in Kingdom Come and was the main drive for Superman to do good), Wonder Woman was war hungry in Injustice which is contrast to her character and what she stands for Those are the two characters that drove the plot and neither is acting as themselves

You forgot one of the most f*(ked up stories ever created in the DC. Superman and Lois are married and Lois is about 2 trimesters into her pregnancy. All of the sudden she stammers back holding her stomach in excruciating pain. Almost as if she had gotten kicked real hard in the stomach; which she realizes in horror is EXACTLY what just happened. Yep, you guessed it!! Her Human anatomy cannot handle the strength her child has. Long story short. She yells out to Superman for help. By the time Superman arrives, Lois dies in his arms after being "kicked" to death by their unborn child. Oh, and the child dies too. After Lois' funeral, Maxima shows up. She tries to console Superman by saying people like them are the only ones that can carry your child to Term without dying. Superman thinks about this for a second and as we turn the page, we see Superman and Maxima making out heavily in Lois' grave!! Its also the same picture as the Cover.
It’s one thing to add that whole Superman acting out of character in injustice when that’s the whole point to this list, but to put it in first place when we had Lois Lane turning black for 24 hr lower on this list WOW.

I think injustice is good fun and not entirely impossible the writers set out to flip Superman's character on it's head without warning and it works, they also do a good job of portraying the consequence's this would have. However I see where this video is coming from, as although I am primarily a Batman fan, Superman is often the character I turn to for wholesome moments when I'm taking a break from characters such as Homlander and Omni-man for example in the JL unlimited Christmas special. So while I appreciate Injustice I always enjoy the idea of Superman being a true hero done right.
I love the injustice storyline it shows that even Superman has a human side and when he sees that he killed Lois and hears his unborn child's heart stop we see that that line he never crosses disappears it shows everyone has their breaking point and the moment he kills the joker any true fan of Superman understands that hatred he feels for the person that caused him to commit the most heinous crime but we also get to see that batman would do anything he can to stop him but also understands why he did it but just wants to help bring the person part of the league he considers his equal and closest friend out side of the bat family
Superman is culturally a human being, specifically an American human being, he is a human with a Kryptonian side not the other way around, the DC live action movies just really fucked up that fundamental aspect of the character because you know...they're idiots

(3:48) In classic Greek mythology, it is not unusual for Centaurs to find human woman attractive. DC universe is filled with examples of different species falling in love with each other. I do not see an issue here.
I disagree with most people in the comments as I dislike the Injustice story. It does alter the entire character of Superman. It's fun to think of Superman as dictator, but it is wildly out of character.
What I really wish is there was an actual Injustice comic of the video game itself, there's only the things leading up to the game, why not the game itself? The story's already written.
Injustice is a story of Clark *losing* hope because of Lois and his kid's death and therefore, loses hope in humanity for it to solve its own problems and eventually that leads to being a despot and him losing his own humanity etc
Such an L take on Injustice. It's easily the best take on a what if scenario where Superman goes rogue. You truly don't understand why that story is so great and it's baffling
I'm sorry, but I think you're just wrong about Superman and Injustice. The Joker didn't just have Superman mistake Lois Lane for Doomsday, and inadvertently kill her, but she was PREGNANT at the time. Furthermore, the Joker then detonated a nuclear bomb in Metropolis killing everyone Superman knew and tens of millions of other people as well. I'm here for team Superman, but I'm pretty sure that would cause even the big blue boy scout to break.
I have questions... At what point did Superman lose the ability to fly through space (avoiding red suns) and to visit other planets, and to fly into the sun to clean his super suit? When or how did Superman stop just being super 24/7 and become a super solar battery that has to be recharged? I vaguely recall sometime in the 70's or 80's, a villain created a golem that stole a super power from Superman each time he used one until Superman had no powers. How did Superman regain his powers, and what reason was given for him being less super than before? My thanks to anyone who can answer any of these questions for me.
At least Comet, the dude who turned from horse to human and back again, is the only man Supergirl will ever meet that can literally say he's hung like a horse.
Superman is always shown as inherently weaker than batman. Do we look at the movies to see that bats basically kills in PG13 mode. As long as you don’t see it happen then the criminal maaaaaay be alive. Supes isn’t weak for showing compassion. It would be very easy for him to “hurt” villains like bats. His upbringing by normal decent parents doesn’t even allow him to think of being as brutal. Bruce is essentially nuts. He never got over the loss of his parents. If he actually acknowledges a “fatal injury” even once then the floodgates will open. I don’t think supes would carry on killing.
So you’re gonna leave out the one where Superman tries to emotionally abuse Jimmy Olsen until he doesn’t love him? Or the one where Pink kryptonite turns Superman gay?
First they murder him in the first 15 minutes of a movie next Superman makes him not even like Superman anymore people need to start giving Jimmy Olsen some f*cking respect

Dam I was looking for that. Its crazy tho he really is a daddy's boi.
1:05-1:07- Superman just said out loud what he says every night when he’s alone . It’s a shame that Bruce (And Diana.) wasn’t there to hear it.
What🤨
Injustice shouldn't be on the list because it's a what if Superman was bad story. Also it's a Spin-off series so it has nothing to do with the main DC universe.
I mean, can you be any type of mentally good after seeing you wife dead in space by your own hands?
I completely agree. I'm arguing with someone who thinks Superman can't be pushed to do those things. He even compared Superman to Jesus.
@@jdsimmons97 and that’s the problem with some people, they forget that, (even tho he tries to represent the best of us), he’s still a man. A “super”man, yes, but let’s not forget the man part, he is not Jesus lol He can fall from the pedestal and be driven to do the worst. All it takes is the worst to happen, and in injustice, joker did the worst. Honestly, ignore those fools, clearly they miss the point of Superman if they get “he’s like Jesus” out of him and his stories.
@@LeoNxL2Hx if you search the comment section with 50+ replies you'll find the entire argument and you'll see how pointless it is.
because supermans hope wasnt in his family.
Like, he had to have killed at least one of those wife beaters that he punched through a wall .
everyone has a 'dark side', as Eclipso has proven time and again
there's bad versions of every DC hero
its not that he cant, it's that he wont. It's the whole purpose of his character
@@matthewschwartz6607 lolol yeah early superman was a menace. But after they reformed his character, thats not him anymore
I gotta disagree with the Injustice point, to begin with what was done to Superman was massively downplayed he didn't just get tricked to kill Lois, Joker tricked Superman to ruin his own life and when asked "Why?!?" he gets manically laughed at while Joker holds that over his head and basically promised to hurt him again,in this moment Superman was weighing everything the clown prince has done and decided to end his life, from here Diana, Sinestro, and Black Adam convinced him that he could prevent all that death and destruction if he was in charge, the message behind Injustice isn't that Superman doesn't stand for hope as prime Superman does set things right it's proving "The killing joke" wasn't just chance
except superman is incorruptable.
That Superman Wonder Woman love scene in DKSA was freaking epic!
Yeah but It was uncharacteristic for Superman to snap (same thing happened to him in Kingdom Come and was the main drive for Superman to do good), Wonder Woman was war hungry in Injustice which is contrast to her character and what she stands for
Those are the two characters that drove the plot and neither is acting as themselves
@@CanineLupus0114 which is why they can get away with it in elseworld stories. A character can't be perfect in every instance every when everytime. It's how we got the batman who laughs, parallax Hal Jordan, all the heroes in Flashpoint.
@@sandmaker47 who says a character cant be perfect? just cause ur not perfect? Superman and wonderwoman were waaaay out of character. its a WHAT IF story sure. but that doesnt make it good
Amazing, this list got completed without any Jimmy Olson Comics
That last entry may be the worst take this channel has ever taken. Like, horrendously bad. And that's saying something.
W
Hold on, what a minute!!! Everything you said about injustice is WRONG
You are wrong about the Injustice part, and saying He doesn't kill such and such is like saying Batman doesn't kill, nor use guns, which he does in both comics and movies.
batman killed in his early comics. but not after they reformed him. He is actually right about superman. Thats why the story takes place in a WHAT IF universe.
And the movies are so wrong in their portrayal of both superman and batman and its fucking annoying
"Frank Miller is a really weird guy."
I mean, to put it mildly, yeah.
Have you seen Ralph Bakshi?
I thought the earth wasnt supposed to move until the honeymoon?
What in the hell
"Man of Steel, Woman of Kleenex", by Larry Niven. One of many reasons cited by him as to why Superman and Lois trying to have a kid is a bad idea.
It’s one thing to add that whole Superman acting out of character in injustice when that’s the whole point to this list, but to put it in first place when we had Lois Lane turning black for 24 hr lower on this list WOW.
The 'black" Lois story has to be viewed in it's true world time-line. Hey, DC was trying, much like the "junkie" Speedy issues.
Junkie speedy was bad in the day but now it's an integral part of Roy Harper's backstory along with his getting clean

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight #31-35, February - May 2010 Dark Horse Comics.
You might say Buffy really fucked up everything in that story - literally.
You guys go on about racial insensitivity while also being the same people who 1) said diversity was missing for not having a black character, not characters of color because apparently to many black and white is diverse enough 2) when addressing the cold shoulder Lois got from that black community, ya guys failed to call it for what it was, racism.. But by gawd if Cyborg needed info and got the same hositilty, you'd guys would sure pounce and say how vile and racist it is
Don't you know double standards only apply one way?
Ok, between DC writers insistence on superman/super girl being a thing for some ungodly reason and that one Marvel What If panel where Hulk and She-Hulk are married (and of course THAT whole thing in Old Man Logan), wtf is up with certain comic book writers and shipping a hero with their female cousins?!?
In the immortal words of a wise old superstar basketball player;
Stop it. Get some help.
You are funny you think the cousins thing is bad go look up wtf was going on with ultimate quicksilver and ultimate scarlet witch

@@Brianna-eo8nu comics have this very weird very concerning idea that "edgey and controversial" selling points mean just really fucked up ideas like when Carol Danvers was mind controlled in to having a relationship with this limbo demon dude and having her give birth to himself and all the Vengers (who are not mind controlled) were all cool with her going off with this limbo demon dude despite her being obviously mind controlled

Umm no
It’s very frowned upon over here too
In fact certain areas of the country are even made fun of because they’re associated with that concept
Injustice is a very good story line and shows us that it takes only one very bad day to make a hero a supervillian.
Injustice? while completely ignoring pink kryptonite?
"becomes dangerously close to being racially offense"
Translation to American English "is extremely racially offensive."
Not really. Like wow, a kind reporter character can understand them better when she's not shunned for being white. If any part has a negative racial angle, it's the part where they won't even talk to her because "she's whitey"
Come on man Injustice was a great story line that made you think about what could happen if super man was ever pushed over the edge. To compare it to some of these is just wrong.
Many shoutout the slogan "Make America Great Again" But nobody asks for whom or maybe it was so clear that it doesn't need any clarification.

*PICCOLO WHAT'RE YOU DOING IN DC COMIC UNIVERSE*
Hold up: “Supergirl dude ranch”?
Shouldn't the Pink Kriptonite turning Superman gay be on this list, even if it was a miniplot? The black Lois Lane at least was trying to do something positive, and it wasn't published this millennia! (Can believe that a stone infecting Superman with homosexuality was something written in 2003 istg)
I thought injustice is one of the best dystopian dc realities in my opinion. It was cruel bloody and sad but still good and not deserving to be on the list. If the blackest knight isn't innapropriate and injustice is something is very wrong
I love the injustice storyline it shows that even Superman has a human side and when he sees that he killed Lois and hears his unborn child's heart stop we see that that line he never crosses disappears it shows everyone has their breaking point and the moment he kills the joker any true fan of Superman understands that hatred he feels for the person that caused him to commit the most heinous crime but we also get to see that batman would do anything he can to stop him but also understands why he did it but just wants to help bring the person part of the league he considers his equal and closest friend out side of the bat family
the main stories already shows he has a human side....
oh right, modern stories think being human is being so flawed you turn into a villain
Superman is culturally a human being, specifically an American human being, he is a human with a Kryptonian side not the other way around, the DC live action movies just really fucked up that fundamental aspect of the character because you know...they're idiots
We all called #2 fellas. What comic book reader (long-time or short) wouldn't?
The thing with Barda is that sleeze guy did make her have sex on camera. You can see Scott reacting to it. Got stopped before the Superman sex sadly. Also Superman and Supergirl should get married. They are a perfect couple. (Joking obviously)
Injustice is awesome you have greatly over simplified the series
The second a guy nuts in a woman, there are three people in the room. I am very smart. Just ask my invisible friend. HE loves me and grants wishes.
(3:48) In classic Greek mythology, it is not unusual for Centaurs to find human woman attractive. DC universe is filled with examples of different species falling in love with each other. I do not see an issue here.
Should be titled "Lets take offence over nothing"
I disagree with most people in the comments as I dislike the Injustice story. It does alter the entire character of Superman. It's fun to think of Superman as dictator, but it is wildly out of character.
Yea I disagree with the injustice part
I don't agree with injustice, they literally bring in a good Superman who says all those things you said
Yeah I disagree with the whole injustice take
Darkseid is not Mister Miracle's biological father. He's his adopted father. Mister Miracle's biological father is High Father of New Genesis
What I really wish is there was an actual Injustice comic of the video game itself, there's only the things leading up to the game, why not the game itself? The story's already written.
There is but it only Harley Quinn pov comicstorynen (I forgot have to spell his name) has video about
@@eletricninja7622 Yeah...doesn't feel like it counts.
Injustice is a story of Clark *losing* hope because of Lois and his kid's death and therefore, loses hope in humanity for it to solve its own problems and eventually that leads to being a despot and him losing his own humanity etc
The Injustice criticism is stupid.
Marrying ur cousin is something normal in more than half of the world
Tyroc is basically Black Panther with a slightly altered origin and no cat suit
Punish me daddy! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It was kinda a pleasant surprise that a space for comics talks about all the weird racial insensitivity. Definitely nice to see!
Darkseid is not Miracle Man's biological father. All Father is his son. Darkseid's son is Orion.
The question left unanswered is how a guy apparently made of solid rock (Darkseid) is even able to father human looking children.
9:14 Ok I gotta know, where did that picture come from.

Yes Superman is a good guy at heart and will always be the symbol of hope, but the injustice story is what if Superman had that one bad day or lost everything that mattered to him
I hate to say it, but they got number one wrong, the entire point of Injustice was how quickly and easily the ideology that Superman carries with him can turn to darkness when carried to the extreme.
I gotta go read that comic where Lois turns black I ain’t seen that one lhh.
