Why was Carolyn Jones taking dancing lessons when she was literally dying of colon cancer? Didn't she have to shoot her last scenes on "Capitol" in a wheelchair??
Check out Carolyn Jones in the 1953 thriller "House of Wax" with Vincent Price. It's a fun retro flick set in the early 1900's, that was made for the 3D fad of the time. She looks so pretty in it, and has a teensy little waist that you see when her friend laces up her corset.
@Estrella That would be Raul Juliá, who played Gomez in the two live-action movies. He passed away in 1994, shortly before the release of the Street Fighter movie where he played M. Bison. John Astin was the first actor to portray Gomez, and he's still alive and well.
I wish we had shows like this and Warner bro cartoons to teach us values and music. No wonder things have gone downhill. What has the modern times brought? 2 broke girls? Excuse me!
Very Good?? eccch.. I found the remake totally cringeworthy, lacking all subtlety, and the Uncle Fester character was a real barfbucket. They should’ve all been boiled in South Tasmanian oil, to use a Gomez line.
I still remember watching this show when I was a young lad (I'm 51 yr now). It was great back then and still great today. What a wonderful cast of actors. Thanks for sharing.
What I loved about the Munsters and the Addams Family is in the end it showed happy families who really loved and cared for each other. Especially with Gomez and Morticia. He was crazy about her! 🤣I love it! Such a rarity to see something like this in entertainment these days.
No other character couples displayed such love for each other. John Astin's Gomez made you believe how much he loved Carolyn Jones Character of Morticia and had you laughing at the same time. Only Raul Julia and Angelica Houston have been able to get right so far. Really miss Raul Julia. What a rare actor he was. But I think the original Gomez John Astin is still alive.
The show (in my opinion) is so much better than movie adaptations. The strange and unusual behavior is charming. The newer adaptations are just in your face and trying so hard to be edgy. This is a family that thinks they are completely normal when they are actually uniquely dark. Fantastic execution and interpretation.
For me since I only ever watched a few re-runs of the animation and "The Addams Family" and "The Addams Family Values" This being the first time I actually watched this version. I'd say "The Addams Family" and "The Addams Family Values" weren't terrible. Though considering I'm 22 I have a soft spot for the older movies.
The same thing for Ted Cassidy and Jackie Coogan as the original Lurch and Uncle Fester.... As Morticia and Gomez I must admit that I liked a lot Anjelica Huston and Raúl Julia, but still I rather Carolyn Jones and John Astin every day.
I had the same thought just a moment ago :) I dare to say that even as a fictional couple, they are wonderful role models. Their ego's are outrageously playful but they never cross the line by using hurtful, condescending words or expecting others to make amends. Passionate and nurturing, indeed the best relationship goals.
One of my favorite Addams Family episodes. Lurch is hilarious pulling the rope and it falls off, getting the " You Rangs " mixed up with Gomez, trying to make eyes at Morticia, trying to act masterful, and Ellen Corby as the insufferable mother.
@@eduardo_corrochio You got that right! She's gorgeous in that movie!
So sad that she died young @ 53 from colon cancer :/
Carolyn Jones as morticia is amazing. There have now been a few actresses play the role, but she is still the best.
agreed + the same goes for Julie Newmar being the best Catwoman
Agree
Best all around Addams cast. No offense to others. This is the one that worked best, together.
Absolutely
Beautiful too.
I'm 62 and I loved The Addams family as a young boy...and to this day I still believe Carolyn Jones was so gorgeous.
Adam family is a awesome show,was1965,year before I was born,I remember watching in 1972,I was 6, Morticia a pretty lady, her and Gomez great actors
@@lisaparsons4124 ...i'm 63 and i agree and Maryann was cute
R.I.P for the actors that passed away
Yeah, which ones died again?
John Astin and Lisa Loring, who played Gomez and Wednesday Addams, respectively, are the only surviving cast members of the original series.
@Estrella That would be Raul Juliá, who played Gomez in the two live-action movies. He passed away in 1994, shortly before the release of the Street Fighter movie where he played M. Bison.
John Astin was the first actor to portray Gomez, and he's still alive and well.
@Estrella morticia died of cancer years ago. Pugsly died a few years ago. All are dead but Wednesday and Gomez from the tv series
There doing great now
I love how concerned they are for their staff.
The shots of Morticia while she was teaching Lurch to make eyes, my gosh she is just a beauty! 😍
Her demanding lurch make eyes at her was hilarious lol
Lurch winking at Morticia was priceless 🤣
This is how many people who loves the Adam's family

Stop with your like begging.
+1000
that's a pretty lazy way to beg
Yes
They must have had a blast taping this episode back in the day. Lurch is a hoot. This show is a classic and always has been!
With all due respect to Angelica Huston; there can only be ONE, Mortician Adams!
The spellbinding *Miss Carolyn Jones!*
Aren't the Addams the most wonderful people ever?
Yes! Love the show. I have Charles Addams book on my coffee table
Best couple!
Could have worse neighbors
I'd live there id let them adopted me 😈
Every woman needs to find her Gomez. He is the best husband and companion ever!!
Lurch: "I LIKE THE FUNNIES."
I like the funnies too :)
I don't blame him. That's the best part. :)
I agree with Lurch!😁👍
Relatable
Their chemistry and charm is so infectious you cant help but smile watching them. Its like a pure shot of dopamine.
You know, Anjelica Huston and Raul Julia were very good, BUT ... in the end, nothing beats John Astin and Carolyn Jones. :-)
So true!!
Nothing like the original .
Fredriik Forkbeard are you talking about the live action or animated?
How did I ever miss THIS episode?! This is the most dialog Lurch has had that I can remember.
😂
These are the best Morticia and Gomez Addams actors to date.
I was reading up on Ted Cassidy who played Lurch. He was academically gifted, he started high school at the age of 11.
He was also 6'1" by then
Christopher Zapata What on earth were they feeding that boy?
Thank GOD.
billfinger : that’s a comment that I have thought of when I see him. I figured that his mom would be short and oh-so-much less overpowering than him.
Chris Caldwell : he was very threatening in that role. I sure wouldn’t want to ever be on his bad list.
Morticia in a maid outfit? Well ladies and gentlemen they did it. They improved perfection.
i know right its so cute
Can she wear dat twenty four seven
Matthew Fogarty please no
I honestly didn't like that outfit. She looks better in her normal one.
🥵 she would be 70 years older than me tho
They jumped to it without a second thought. I mean this dark show is full of warmth and sunshine. It makes my heart full
Oh the memories! This was great thank you! How many love the Addams Family?
👇
I still remember watching this show when I was a young lad (I'm 51 yr now). It was great back then and still great today. What a wonderful cast of actors.
Thanks for sharing.
What I loved about the Munsters and the Addams Family is in the end it showed happy families who really loved and cared for each other. Especially with Gomez and Morticia. He was crazy about her! 🤣I love it! Such a rarity to see something like this in entertainment these days.
John Astin and Carolyn Jones.. So great together - A genuine chemistry. Even as Morticia, she was stunning.
ESPECIALLY as Morticia!
Did you know they were really into each other.? Sadly for them it ended quickly 2 years I think
"It's impossible...
that blonde's have more fun" 😂
I love this couple.
John Astin, Carolyn Jones, and Jackie Coogan made Emmy worthy performances in this show.
The show (in my opinion) is so much better than movie adaptations. The strange and unusual behavior is charming. The newer adaptations are just in your face and trying so hard to be edgy. This is a family that thinks they are completely normal when they are actually uniquely dark. Fantastic execution and interpretation.
You have to love even for their fascination for th macabre they love and enjoy each other's company and defend their family
and I think this works better for comedy too.
Javier Whitefield I’m 20, so I also grew up with the movies. I liked them until I watched this show. 😂
Victorianism extant in the sixties.
“Anyone who’d hate an octopus is warped.”
I agree.
Yes! They're DELICIOUS!!!!
@@johneasler9967 how dare you
@@johneasler9967 , heresy
Super smart, super flexible, and friendly to humans. Too bad they don't live longer.
All these years and they still can get me laughing ! This kind of humour is ageless !
I love this show! So beautifully written and with a talented cast!!!
Definitely great to see classic Addams Family. I hope they get a bunch of new fans. Viva La Addams.
Am i new fan, this is my first time watching it and i love it
I laughed out loud when Lurch tried to hug his mama both at the beginning and the end lol
This is comedy gold. what brilliance of writing and delivery and making it seem so effortless. 'you rang?' ... 'no You rang' love this family.
MANY REMAKES INCLUDING MOVIES WITH FAMOUS CELEBRITIES BUT NONE COMES CLOSE TO JOHN ASTIN AND CAROLYN JONES AS THE ORIGINAL GOMEZ & MORTICIA!
The same thing for Ted Cassidy and Jackie Coogan as the original Lurch and Uncle Fester.... As Morticia and Gomez I must admit that I liked a lot Anjelica Huston and Raúl Julia, but still I rather Carolyn Jones and John Astin every day.
The whole television cast outshines the movie's questionable ensemble .
@@gomongio I agree
gomongio I really wasn’t a fan of the movie’s Uncle Fester. This one was much better!
Richard Burriesci Agree absolutely!
I want a husband that’s enchanted by my French...and patting his cheek...and my feminine intuition...
Chelcy Etienne tickle his prostate.
I can tickle his prostate with my battered French
No one can manage a man quite like Mortica 😂
Morticia saved Gomez’s life u know
You would get bord and hate him.
The episodes where Lurch has more of a speaking role are some of the best!
As old as this show is..It has aged very very well.
*This show isn't odd... you might be.*
@@wednesdayjade3600 Maybe you should learn how to read friend.
@@manofthehour6583 : *I do know how to read.*
It's quite obvious you didn't read my comment properly..It says Old not Odd.
@@wednesdayjade3600 If you make all your words bold type, then none of them really are.
"Anyone who would hate an octopus is warped!" - Gomez.
These actors were so great. They filled my childhood with glee.
Carolyn Jones was so perfect for this role. Such a sad loss at the young age of 53.
“Lurch is so vivacious”😂👌🏾
“Its his most outstanding characteristic” 🚬
OK OK MORTICIA AND GOMEZ ARE THE LITERAL THE BEST COUPLE I KNOW OF, on the screen and in reality, seriously I wish I saw this
Relationship goals, right?
I had the same thought just a moment ago :) I dare to say that even as a fictional couple, they are wonderful role models. Their ego's are outrageously playful but they never cross the line by using hurtful, condescending words or expecting others to make amends. Passionate and nurturing, indeed the best relationship goals.
I'm dying of laughter whenever Gomez is turned on at Morticia's gestures. Hahahahah
Lurch is definitely my favourite character 😁 I love when an episode centers around him
Oh poor lurch he tries but habits hard to break even if for a visit from his mother he tries but doesn't quite get the hang of it😕
i just love how highly they think of lurch, like ok... he wanted to impress his mother by a lie, wasnt the best but ofcourse they'll help, he's family
Man I loved the Addams family. It’s just so darn fun! Morticia was the Best! Ted Cassidy was priceless.
I need a rack. Cheaper than a chiropractor.
This should tell you how much they love Lurch.
"You Rang?" So simple yet so satisfying.
GOMEZ AND MORTICIA ALWAYS COMPLIMENT AND ENCOURAGE EACH OTHER
What a classic. So much better than many of today’s sitcoms.
Mr. and Mrs. Adam is the nicest couple I have ever seen.
One of my favorite Addams Family episodes. Lurch is
hilarious pulling the rope and
it falls off, getting the " You
Rangs " mixed up with Gomez,
trying to make eyes at Morticia, trying to act masterful, and Ellen Corby as
the insufferable mother.
My favorite line:
Lurch insists, " I LIKE THE FUNNIES. "
i cannot stress how much i love Ted Cassidy picking up Ellen Corby like a child picking up a kitten.
Grandma Walton!
I love how the actress who plays Lurch’s fiery mother also plays the grandmother on The Waltons
Ellen Corby. She plays the lady who runs McKittrick Hotel in Hitchcock's Vertigo
That's who she was? Never made the connection
GOOD LORD!! lol.
She was also the unscrupulous woman who sold Barney his first car (a lemon) on the Andy Griffith Show.
Ellen Corby was in over 120 movies & TV shows. She was a wonderful "character" actor for over 30 years before she became Grandma Walton .
The Addams Family may be a little weird, but they are more nice and kind than most people in the real world!
I used to watch this when I was a kid. Watching it now they are such a nice family. I haven't seen Lurch this cute and with a different side of his character.
I always preferred the original show.
I love the show, and the movies. I don't like the 90's cartoon, but I do love the comics.
The Charles Addams comics and the original show are just timeless. I feel like as the 90s movies age more, they show less polish.
Out of all the pinball games, I always prefer The Addams Family one.
the 90's movies has better casting and chemistry. I do feel like the show offer more possibilities for the characters tho.
@@Cliff00936 the pinball game was in my top 3 tables ever! I made a HUGE mistake when that table came out as I played a couple of games on it ,and because the bookshelf section was missing the part needed to make it look like a bookshelf,I made the call to not get them for the company I was working for..... it ended up being the mose sucessfull pinball table ever! and a brilliant game to play. I made that terrible call because I had a few bad games and thought the table was no good.
The Addams family and the Munsters. Truly awesome old shows. I’m so thankful for TH-cam etc. for being able to relive the memories.
I always loved Ted Cassidy as Lurch, because my sweet grandmother and her sister ran a babysitting(preschool) and 2 of the kids they watched for years was Ted Cassidy's children, Cameron and Sean Cassidy!!!she said he was the total opposite of lurch in real life of course, but I guess, became really good friends with him also while and after they went to school.
😱😱 that’s so cool! And so sweet! I bet your grandma had a lot of fun with those sweet kids!
Thats pretty cool! Now Sean and Cameron are grown. Sean I know has children. He's a spitting imagine of his father, and also tall at 6'7
Lucky you!
It's amazing how timeless and heart warming the Addams Family is. The theme song has managed to be nostalgic for my grandfather, my mother and myself. Three generations, all snapping our fingers to this theme song.
I love the Addams Family. There will never be another show like that this one. I always wanted to live in their house.
Love how he "makes eyes" 😂😂😂
