I've actually had this rifle over a year and have collected some grouping data. With apologies, I did not add images in the video as I had already gathered the data. Here are the results.

So what I'm hearing is my $400 Ruger American preditor outshoots this rifle. 1.45" at 350yds with hornady 143gr. Precision Hunter.

The new DD AR 15 I looked at just recently was nothing I would pay $1200 for. It had a plastic dust cover for crying out loud. The feel of that bolt gun was not anything to make me want to take it home either. DD is marking up their products price and under delivering on the guns.
@@seancurtis994 thank you for your response. All that I ask out of a video with a title like the one bestowed upon this one is: could you please put an accomplished shooter using obtainable ammunition behind the trigger and show us why it lives up to the name brand it carries?
@@jickdespain2466 as a former full time gunsmith, now only for close friends and my own personal firearms gunsmith, who went on to get a degree in tool and die making, then tool maker turned engineering tech, I can say without doubt that all too often people pay big money for nothing more than a name brand. With modern CNC manufacturing the vast majority of the parts found in the AR platform are rather inexpensive to make with a high degree of precision. In my experience with a DDM4 the only major component I saw that might be worth some extra coin was the barrel, otherwise I could replicate the rest of the weapon with similar or truly upgraded parts for less money.
You pay big money for look at me toys so the makers of your toys can buy big money look at me toys too. LOL

@Tyler Griffin held one in my hands, operated the action. Not impressed. When DD started putting plastic dust covers on their AR platforms they lost my interest. Plenty of other bolt gun manufacturers who come in at the same price point but don't have a stock that looks cool but feels cheap.
Check out the Bergara Wilderness. It is a 1k rifle. Comes in .308 or 6.5. Check out Alabama Arsenal, the easily shoot it out to 1mile!!!
I might be able to sell my main source of transportation and purchase that fine firearm.

I have a Delta 5 and it is awesome. I really like Daniel Defense's quality. I own 3 Daniel Defense firearms. They're all great.
Bolt seems to bind very easily going back into battery
Do a comparison against the 400 ruger rifle that is supposedly a bad ass rifle out of the box and see how they match up

Not DD but DDD!
It's a sharp rifle, and seems to have a lot of nice (but now quite standard) features. It does seem that its priced too high considering other rifles on the market. You can get a RPR, or a Bergara HMR for about half the money and have just as nice of a rifle.

I do, because it is idiot proof. This is my WW3 rifle. I don't want two rifles, and with the ammo supply being the way it is, I get my hands on whatever I can find, 6.5 or .308.

DD name = brand tax. It is more expensive than a ruger precision rifle. But does it really outperform it?

Daniel Defense donated a lot of money to Hilary Clinton... For that price, I can get a Winchester XPR in 308, 30-06, 300 win mag, etc etc, a quality scope, bipod, a bunch of quality ammo, and a case for my rifle...and still have money left over. The Winchester XPR is a 1inch or less rifle...for a lot less money...so...ya.
