You forgot to mention a few cool hidden extras, my man: There is a 12v outlet in the left glove box, supplying 65w of power, so you can charge your phone etc. The windscreen is heated. Also, the back seat can be flipped upside down if you need more storage: When you open the "trunk cover", the back seat comes loose. Flip it upside down and voila! You have another 40-50 litres of lockable storage. There is a pedestrian warning horn on the left turn handle, in the middle, giving off a semi-loud "meep-mo-meep" sound if you are driving near people (it can go anywhere). Although it takes 3,5 hours to charge from 0-100%, it can do so using a regular 10A socket, meaning you do not have to install a separate charger in your garage to charge it; a regular extension cord will do. Lastly, it can be ordered with a reverse parking sensor, mudflaps (very much worth the money) and there are both lexan windows and soft plastic windows with a rigid frame available. I also chipped mine. It used to be capped at 80 km/h max. Now I got it capped at 105 km/h, and that's with medium tuning.
Thank you for your comment! While there are few minor stuff I overlooked, I do mention the hidden storage space in the backseat. But hey, a reviewer can never get to those hidden details that one experiences only if he owns one! Thank you for passing by!
Really? It comes with a 12V outlet that lets you charge your mobile? what luxury!!!! does it come with door handles too or do people have to jump into the car through the windows?
I have to agree on the over priced statement It is not overpriced compared to a s class Mercedes-Benz or a Ferrari. It’s way overpriced compared to the electric golf cart in my garage. It is extremely overpriced compared to a Toyota Prius as on Craigslist St. Louis Missouri.
Hi. I'm from America and yes we know about the Twizy and we love it. There are a few in San Francisco, but nowhere else. I don't know why but Renault won't import them. Nissan rebadged them (tacky) as the Scoot but haven't imported them as well. Motorcycles and scooters are way more of a risk than the Twizy. I would choose the back seat model. You can travel with a back pack and an occassional passenger. But, great review. Thank you. It never gets old.
Thank you for your comment! I totally agree with you; the Twizy is a much safer ride than any two-wheeled ones. I'm glad you enjoyed the review my man.
Here in Malaysia do have. No ppl buy due to no window. In Malaysia most of half of the year is raining.. window is important and air con else we will been smoke by bus and truck.
Great idea and would make a good commuter car here in the USA, in certain circumstances. However, the lack of windows would be a problem given the rainy and cold weather where I am located (DC, Virginia, and Maryland). Good review, though! Thanks!
Is the twizy is using a lead acid battery or lithium ion? They should upgrade the battery into graphene super capacitor to increase the range up to 400km or more. This would make the scooter car or mini EV car an urban legend
Its tech is 6,7 years old, as well as the battery tech. They should upgrade it. The range with today's batteries can easily be 200 real kms with this thing. Do t get me wrong g, I love the Twizy (i have the 80km version), but the range is just not acceptable to today's standards; they should upgrade or stop selling.
I totally agree with you! Small electric vehicles are getting more and more popular these days. Renault was one of the first manufacturers to come up with an urban compact electric daily driver and I believe they should continue on improving what they've got because it's one very successful vehicle.
I have the 2012 Twizy, can't say I agree with the battery thing. It was never designed to do even medium distance journeys, mostly just for around town. I routinely do a weekends worth of small trips in the Twizy and still have 25% battery left. You have to remember that with a bigger battery, the car would weigh more and therefore have a negative impact on range and power. Sometimes, light weight is best!
I agree with you! But the thing is in 2018, small batteries are now more powerful than they were before, say 6 years ago. It would be good to consider upgrading the ones in the Twizy! But since you are talking from an experience/owner perspective, I totally respect what you said and maybe it might not be that bad, as some people think. Thank you for passing by!
That's true, for that purpose it still is a nice vehicle, but to me the distances i drive with it are just always on the edge of what the thing can handle, so more range would still be appriciated. I mean, the further you can go, the more you can use it.
Good afternoon, gentlemen ... I live in Brazil and I would like to know if you send the electric car to Brazil and how much is to send with the freight ... Thank you
To be honest, nothing. Renault should really work on improving the battery technology for intance which is now becoming dated; it takes 3 full hours to charge itself! It is the only solution to stay in this growing market in my opinion. Thanks for passing by!
@@banjirjir7519 hi, there are add-on transparent windows available in Korean market as an OEM option. A guy sells them and ships globally. Search Instagram for "twizy windows". Windows he's selling are original from Renault. I hope this helps
Why would 2 doors really needed if 1door with windows could be so much better. Many people are also with their privacy stuffs and also when they are doing shopping, they can't carry with them along. And about the heating for the cold and even for cooling they could attach some solar system on the roof.

That's looks nice, but it's easier for someone to break in. They must upgrade in this situation. They can use a little thick plastic windows if class windows are to heavy for it.
