The second seatbelt is really meant for people who bought Twizy's with no doors, so they don't fall out going around corners 😂 But I got one myself, great little things!
As a car, I’ve never seen the point in the Twizzy, but you’ve just made a case for why one would buy one! Just some sort of weekend/summer smile toy! That if we don’t take it seriously, it’s then that we can ‘get’ it!
There are a whole lot of vehicles that have never made sense to me. The primary one being anything with 3 wheels; which have all the drawbacks of both a normal car and a motorcycle, with the advantages of neither (the exception being the awesome Piaggio MP3, please, please, please make these in EV version!). The Twizy seems unique enough to fill a niche that most didn't even know existed.
The Twizy is an awesome urban vehicle! After almost a decade it’s time for a new generation with current battery tech. Would like to see more complete weather protection (might need an HVAC system) and a narrower body to better cut through traffic (might need tilting mechanism to compensate for the decreased track).
A carver electric is pretty close to that spec. Three wheels, the front is enclosed, seats 2 and tilts like a motorbike while the rear stays level and has the drivetrain. Quite expensive though, all low speed vehicles seem to be because of the low volumes produced.
@@steveearley8352 I honestly can’t remember. But EVM has mentioned them on his channel and I think Andy Kirby has too. I’ve been meaning to go back and check. Because they look very good compared to earlier efforts
If you get the chance please check out a Carver Electric. It's another fun vehicle with 3 wheels where the cabin tilts like a motorbike. Slightly more practical than the twizy even because it has a boot and a fully enclosed cabin with a fabric convertible roof over the rear seat.
It would be great if you explained why Renault did not fit windows since the lack of them stops it being an all-weather vehicle. I thought that the European regulations for "quadracycles" might prevent them being fitted but apparently that is not the problem because the Citroen Ami has windows.
They look like such fun but I assume the reason they aren't more popular is the reason I don't have one. It couldn't replace a car so you either buy it as a toy or to replace a bike and I think for most the price is too high for that.
@@gavinm892 There was an electric version in the plans from a Danish manufacturer called Lynx, with the E-Swing, but that sadly went quiet a while ago. Oh I think there is an electric Carver in the works now, but limited to... 80kph I think? Maybe less? [Edit] Ouch, 45 kph. 😔
@@TheJAMF I know, I was also disappointed by that but I guess they have identified their optimum niche market. Perhaps a faster version could be on the cards in the future, who knows?
Mine has a lockable glove box which I keep the handbook and sunglasses in (no sun visor in twizy 🤦♂️) but no you wouldn’t want to leave anything valuable in. Great for popping into town for local shops, but my wife moans it takes her longer, as everyone wants to talk to her about the twizy!! 🤪
On the continent they sell a Twizy 45. Which has a max speed of 30mph which I believe as young as 16 year olds can drive. In the UK a slightly more powerful version, the Twizy 80 is only available. Top speed of 52mph & full driving licence required to drive it.
Great reviews, I'm also a Tesla Fan ( waiting for m3 sr+ in november 😊) can you test how many Pizza Boxes 😁 you can put on the back place? 😁 this car is great for this and at 50 miles autonomy... hm ... I can imagine that is very profitable 😃 So is Pizza Time !!! 😎
This looks really good fun but they now do an electric Carver, which would be even more so. Hopefully you will have one on here in due course. carver.earth/en/ much slower but I'd argue, more fun and it has windows.
Nice fun video. Twizy owner myself. Never get bored of driving it.

The opening scene with the toy Tesla hauling the trailer with the Twizy on it was hilarious! I couldn’t stop 😂 😂 😂
Saw one of those for the first time in Bergen, NO last year. It was parked between two other compact cars and still looked TINY. Awesome.

Yep exactly!

You need an Arcimoto

@@CampGareth Indeed. I like the Carver. Too bad it’s not available in North America. Hope that changes, and I’m also keeping an eye on the Nimbus.
Perfect excuse to go car shopping... You'll need an EV6 or Ioniq5 to charge the Twizzy!
A personal favorite of mine is the Oakley Design Twizy F1, but I would love to get my hands on even a standard twizzy one day
That looks like a real fun lil car
Window options are available
The latest aftermarket windows are very good and worth the investment in the uk 👍😁
Where can we find those please Doug?

I have the same JBL speaker, you can fit it next to you by the door and seat and access the volume etc..

It's much slower than it looks: 45kph I think. Shame as it looks as though it'd do about 80mph. Otherwise good concept: saw it at Fully Charged Show.

They’re an optional extra 💁♂️
You freaking kidding me that little tesla can pull that trailer 🤣🤣🤣🤣👌
Yep genuinely!
@@RSEV Stacey said "they're pushing that off camera!", but tow line is tight, so I don't think so!
ZOOM!
That is so cool. Wouldn’t it be great getting side windows? Love the review 👍
Nice video as always! ,could you maybe also check the Citroen Ami electric urban car? Is a the same category as the Twizzy.
Talking to Mat Watson about a drag race v Ami 😂
@@RSEV love it!
I wonder if the motor would fit in an Amy ? Now that would be fun.
Awesome vlog.
Trailer is more impressive than the Twizzy, probably more use too
Bough one 4 years ago 500 miles on clock £5500, now 4yrs later It is worth £8000 go figure…?
Ok Richard here's a challenge get a corbin sparrow ev 20k back in the day go on do a video.🤣🤣
Be great as a tow car for a motor home
It’s better than the BMW i3 - You can open the door to get out from the back seat.
Want!

With the absence of an electric Carver, the Twizzy is the most fun.
I was trying to remember the name of that car when I found your comment, an electric Carver is now available

You can get "windows" for it I understand. Do the doors lock ?
IIRC there are Korean spec "windows", that are hard plastic.
No, the doors don’t lock.

Are you from Europe? Not hard for European to get a Twizy.
I would call it “twizzler” like the candy brand
We can drive these in France without a license. Is it the same in the UK?
I think here we need a motorbike licence or something like that
