    I've found that if I add little bits of soil/peat every few days when the roots of cuttings in water are about 2+inches, it helps the cuttings prepare for the time when I finally place them in soil.

      I am a new propagater, I have found while in the water, if I take the cutting and trim off a bit of the stem every 2 days, I get roots popping on half by day 3, I was shocked, I was going to buy some root hormone stuff, but doing it this my way is working! And the rest have sprouted by day 5, I only had to throw 1 away out of about 25 in my 1st batch. And the soil trick I am going to do tomorrow thanks to the comments above mine! I was wondering if that would help and you all have done it, and it helped you said, So Thank You!

    Thank you for the video! I really appreciate that you showed us a plant that is already settled and developing new growth. Every video I watch about plant propagation seems to be the same: the person prepares the cuttings, puts them in water and then transfers to soil. And that's it. No one ever shows what the plant will look like in X weeks or months after being transferred to soil. Your video was very helpful!

    Pothos is by far my second favorite plant to grow aside from a Monstera. I think it's because the care is easy, and the leaves are beautiful. Some people find it too common, but I'd say the reason why it's common and often times a best seller, is because of the care and overall beauty of a Pothos. I enjoy propagating Pothos as well. Within two weeks you'll see roots and within a month you can plant them. This video was informative. Hope you continue to post more content about plants.

    Hello Erica, I’m a new plant parent! Thanks for your video. I found it super helpful especially your common sense of moving plants to a bigger pot. I never knew until you mentioned! I don’t have a mentor to teach me to plant. So... along the way, I bumped to so much mistake. If you have any tips for new plant parents, I look forward to see it! Thanks a lot.

    Hi. It's a very informative video. Great Job!
    I enjoy growing Pothos in water. Growing roots have an interesting visual appeal. Try adding decorative stones for added beauty. Make sure you wash/ rinse the stones before adding them to your water.
    God Bless you!

    • @unicornrainbows8612

      I've had mine in water for over 2 weeks and still doesn't show signs of rooting. I've also changed the water 3 times, not sure how often I'm supposed to change it.

      @@cosmicsoul8042 Hi from what i heard, if u change water daily, then its very good for the plant as it gets fresh nutrients from fresh water.. but even if you are not able to change it daily then try to change the water atleast once in a week

    • @cosmicsoul8042
      @cosmicsoul8042 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@kiransaini4634 I have been changing it every 3 days. It's been almost a month and I can only see the tip of the root, not even an inch, can I plant it soil now or should I wait for the roots to be a bit longer?

    Thanks for this video. I have a huge golden pothos that I've never cut back and my cat just bit off a leaf and some of the stem. The stem has a node and 3 aerial roots so I am going to try propagating it lol.

    Thank you for this video! I now know how to prune the newest leaf growth. I should've left 2-3 nodes because I made a mistake of leaving a single node on my topmost plant so a developing leaf was submerged in water and it rotted :( I hope the last remaining one survives but the mother plant is already pushing a new growth.

    In my experiment of water propogating.
    Bubbles will accumulate on the stems in water as a sign they are developing
    So changing water daily would be vital to their supply of oxygen.
    On the second day of water I would notice the oxygen bubblea diminishing.
