I'm 18 now and looking back, the endless trash he spouted and the mindless hate that I TOOK PART IN towards yourself and others is so disappointing to me now. Looking back, the extent to which he MANIPULATED his YOUNG, IMPRESSIONABLE fanbase even now is incredibly disturbing. Again, I apologize for everything I've done as a child.

I’m so proud of 14 year old me. Back in 2008 I got super into YT. Among the people I watched a lot was Shane himself. Since back then Shane would make videos collaborating with the Onion Man, I was exposed to him and I DISTINCTLY remember checking out his channel and not liking his content. I’m so proud of myself for hating him even when he was still liked.

I watched a couple videos, and noted her attacking other people in petty ways (Onision does this), claiming to be backed up with evidence without actually providing any (I've seen Onision do this plenty), generally coming across as extremely narcissistic, including her "totally-not-bragging"-bragging (do I need to even say anything?), rambling on about how she's morally in the right when she's judging other people (echos of Onision with veganism), deciding what is or isn't a problem for other people despite a lack of experience (Onision has done this a lot producing many scandals), etc. She's also riding off the Onision's infamy for personal gain, which, while certainly not specific to Onision, is that kind of thing Onision is known for as well.
It's been a little while since I watched those videos, but she just seems to me to basically be Onision as a woman... she even kind of looks like a female Onision.

That doesn't mean she knows anything about your psychological make up any more than we do. She isn't a doctor. You are not her client. If she's so great at detecting psychological disorders, or lack thereof according to Greg, she'd be able to fucking detect her own mental health flaws when she seems so very confused on her emotions or why she feels the way she does on a daily basis. Lainey is the poster child of Stockholm Syndrome. Yeah, she's a very effective psych major, guys.
Anecdotally, from what I've heard, a lot of psych majors get their degrees because they're trying to fix or understand their own psyches. Or at least a sizable portion of them. Not sure how true that is, but it is a thing I have heard.

Helen Heels Even psych majors can have problems but they might have more access to resources to fix them. That said, mental disorders, especially addiction, can be harder to see in yourself. And unfortunately, the stigma around mental health disorders in the work force/academia is still very strong. :(
Most people who go into psych have issues. Usually trying to learn how to defend or help themselves or those around them.
But I’m not sure Lainey will ever call Greg a sociopath or a narcissist (which he definitely is, the second one at least) because she had been with him since she was so very young. She married him as a teenager, she’s practically stockholmed (which I see that you also pointed out lol) and has kids with this guy. She’s committed to him, if anything she’s using her psych major to navigate his moods and mentalities safest and most easily. Perhaps subtle manipulations for her benefit if she can. I would think that she’s very aware of his mental issues and just placates him while keeping that information to herself.

Something I don't think Gregory realized is that no one knows that those characters are based on his friends that died. And even if they really are he's just not a good enough writer to realistically write them.
