I'll give them this: at least Lucentbark was good in Solo Adventures if you got the auto healing item. Then it just becomes, "Go Dormant for (at most) 3 Turns."
Myra Rotspring made me play rogue. It was my first rogue legendary and I loved her so much! Deathrattle rogue was my first rogue deck and I loved it so much! Miss her so much tbh.
@@StigmaShadow she was good legendary for me, bc I was new player. If you would highroll she was winning games! And also value was important back then...
Honestly, I kinda wish heal druid was better mostly because I associate druid more with healing instead of the current armor package it has. I get that the armor part is supposed to reflect the guardian druid spec with the tanking but I just feel like healing would be more in theme with the Restoration side, since nothing else reflects that spec in druid's identity. Maybe the board buffs but that's a stretch For giveaway purposes, my favourite card is Velen. We're getting as close to an old school tempo style deck with Draeneis as we will in modern HS.
Healing is extremely difficult to design an archetype around. It requires that your opponent be actively doing damage to your face or your minions, while still leaving them alive. So what do you do if you run into a deck that doesn't play for board and ignores your face for the first several turns? There's also the basic problem that healing doesn't bring you any closer to winning the game on its own; if you get smacked by an 8/8 and you heal yourself, they're just going to smack you again next turn. Healing only actually helps you win the game if it helps you fight for the board. You can see how it played out with Priest; healing as an archetype just flat-out didn't work at all until they introduced Overheal cards with major payoffs. Before then, it was at best a package you could include in your deck to support something else.
I think that dirdra would’ve actually been nuts and very fun to play if her effect instead read “Battlecry: shuffle any amount of cards from your had into your deck, add a random crew mate to your hand for each, deathrattle: add 1 to your hand” that would’ve not only encouraged the player to run more card draw and play more greedily, but would’ve actually added an extra layer of risk-reward with the other crew mate cards by giving the player the option to like mulligan a crew mate from their hand that may not be as useful in their current situation for a slim chance to get a better one at the risk of ruining their card draw in the future, or even swapping the demon from their emergency meeting for another crew mate for a chance at crazy tempo at turn 5, but again at the expense of shuffling a bad random card into their deck and screwing up their future draws.
my favorite card from the new set might be Astral Vigilant: “1/1 get a copy of the last Draenei you played”. Idk how good it’s gonna be, but it seems like it could just be a 1 mana Zola that doesn’t require the same turn/the minion to stay alive. Might pair well with the seemingly good Draenei like the DK legendary or meme ones like the DH crewmate legendary, seems like a solid common regardless
I love Shaman so I think Farseer Nobundo is my favorite; being able to copy a big spell two times over and not have to pay right when you trigger it is pretty strong
Xor'toth has to be my favorite one. The main reason I love DH is because of the Outcast mechanic (sadly it's been MIA for some time) and I like how it reminds me of it
Just gotta say flare love your videos. I play a lot of wild (like almost exclusively) and there aren’t really a lot of creators that go over the gamemode as a whole. Love hearing you talk man keep doing what you’re doing :)
My favorite card this expansion has to be the 8 hands from beyond, I wish there was more support for triple blood dk, but it’s a good start (especially because other archetypes than rainbow are being explored)
Theory: the Heal Druid cards were made with Tombs of Terror in mind more than standard. Turns out, when Lucentbark is played in a Priest deck that can ramp, it’s a lot better. Still not good, mind you, but better. The 3 mana 2/5 that gives you spells when you heal characters can go crazy in Tombs of Terror, however.
"Lucentbark? He summoned a copy of himself when you healed, right? Well I mean, if that wasn't good enough, if they REALLY wanted it to be good, he could split into 2 copies when you healed, so- oh. Ohhh noooooo."
Slagmaw would've been good if it counted previous Excavations, so you could just have a 16/16 ready to go after 3 Excavations. As for Badland Bandits I'd say if we had the Bridge Aura or the (2)3/2 Blood Liadrin available to give all miners Rush & Divine Shield it could've maybe seen more play, we even got an Aura Paladin expasion right after for Bridge. Anything that'd interact with the miners would've made the card more interesting.
The nice thing about this phenomenon is that you only lose out on one card instead of two like you would for a different rarity, and can save on dust. Except for heal druid, because they only made 3 heal cards, and none of them are good. Also the rogue spellstone requires THREE deathrattle minions. Destroying 3 enemy minions is fine, they just made it impossible to get there, and destroying 2 minions is fine if you play it on five, which you won't be able to, and obviously a 5 mana deadly shot is abysmal.
Lucentbark is a funny case. It was too slow vs fast matchups + supporting cards were not good enough. And you could think it at least has a chance to be decent vs slow matchups with enough setup, but your hero rarely was damaged in slow matchups, and overheal doesn't work with this card - you actually need to restore 5 hp to awaken it, making it dead vs slow matchups as well. And for the giveaway purposes I'll pick Kil'Jaeden
I'm looking forward to playing w/ Exarch Naielle. Hunter is my favorite class since launch, and I love my zoo hunter/zoolock style of decks. Hopefully it slots into that kind of deck nicely. The runner up has to be Exarch Akama or Askara for the new Draenei archetype. I'm hoping we get more archetypes based on the races of WoW. It feels like something we should've had since launch especially coming from the original Warcraft tabletop card game.
I’m really interested by the Kiljaeden decks because it just seems like a fun meme/control card with stuff like wheel of death in wild. I’m most excited though for all the meteorite shenanigans!
GDB looks fun, I really hope starships are more playable than they look, and that Quasar rogue also isnt playable in standard because that deck looks miserable lmao. I really like the Demon Hunter legendary tho, Xatoth? I think? He looks super cool and the effect is extremely in flavor
my favorite card has flipped alot, but its gotta be nobundo rn. big spell draenai shaman is my dream, but it all dies to eight hands. gonna play around that one
Didra would have been great if it was just like the pladain legendary and added three random crewmates to hand. Hell you can even have them be outcast or something IDK. Also my favorite card from the expansion is easily Murmur. its so stupid, I love it.
dirdra is gonna be good w draenai. theres a world maybe where cycle DM uses crewmates, rips through deck using cantrips, and tables waves of 4/4s having bonus affects every single turn. are crewmates draenai, also, btw? could be big.
It’s actually the best card of the expansion after theorycrafting (legendary at least, eredar brute is really fucking good too and I didn’t see any theorycraft decks that were not running it) ceaseless was also in basically every deck.
Badlands in general does not have mediocre/perfectly fine legendaries. Theyre all either unplayable garbage or absurdly strong. So many of the excavate and highlander legends bombed spectacularly and then there’s Brann… Total fucking clown show if a set. I can’t wait for its rotation.
Don’t you dare bully lucentbark, i still remember playing lucentbark with 2x faceless manipulator 2x gloop sprayer to get a full board of them. It wasn’t good you’re right
Jooo im a rogue degenerate… sooo i am really looking forward to combo winter with quasar and drawing my whole deck on turn 4 (or completely bricking and getting run over by aggro 😂)
Badlands bandits is so bad I was actually happy that in a losing game I yogged and got the achievement I was so happy I didn't have to craft or play the card
I just wish bad Legendaries had a crafting discount. Would i like to mess around with some of these cards? Heck yeah, they look fun. Would i like to spend 1,600 on a card that is likely to lower my win rate? Heck no.
Nooooo, not the among us legendary 😭😭. Lowkey feel like she might be better if the stuff she shuffles in are those cast on draw type cards like "get [this crewmate] when drawn" so you draw another card instead of your draw that turn being a 4 mana 4/4 instead of possibly something way better
Suprised that freeze shaman didn't make it here
Do yall think Dirdra would be playable if she gave the crewmate she drew the deathrattle as well?
She would be oppressively strong then I think. But I like the idea of the change
Hell no
Dirda would have been playable if she wasn't SUS
I thinjk there is gonna be a playable dirdra deck, even if it isnt top tier.
@@DavidSmith-cr7mbThere will be cremates for sure but why would you really ever run Didra herself?

Dira could have been "rush battlecry add a 4/4 creemate to your hand, it cost 1
Or add a crewmate to your hand, then move all crewmates in your hand to the right
Or, while I'm at it... How about separate every card in your hand from its neighbors with a crewmate

Kil'jaeden definitely seems fun. I'm gonna throw him into my bad wild reno decks as an anti fatigue win condition even if he is bad lol

My favorite card would definitely be Exarch Naielle since it gives hunter card draw
i remember warriors, for a short time, could brann into azerite ox and roll consistently into grommash, due to how small the pool was. I hate warrior.
Naielle seems like the most goated card from this set to me
Would Didra be good if she placed the crewmates on top of the deck? Cause then they at least come in order.
dirdra is gonna be good w draenai. theres a world maybe where cycle DM uses crewmates, rips through deck using cantrips, and tables waves of 4/4s having bonus affects every single turn.
