In old hearthstone, Priest Hero Power is actually pretty good (though Warrior's is better) considering that you can combo with Northshire Cleric to draw a card and it helps you to stay alive. However, Shaman probably had the worst hero power because the ones that are good is Taunt Totem and Healing Totem. Searing is the same as Silver Hand minion (since there wasn't silver hand supports at the time) and Air totem sucks. Strength totem doesn't count because it didn't exist back then. Not to mention that Shaman hero power does not summon another copy of the basic totem you have which means in a rare scenario, if you have all four basic totems, you cannot use your hero power at all until one of them dies.
@@basementhomie2674 yeah. Totemic might was actually a good card (0 mana with a mass +2 health is pretty strong), just that totems itself aren't a great archetype with the best totem being Flame tongue Totem.
@@unknowed5048 there is nothing you can tell me that i dont know , ive played this game since release till now , ive suffered thru it all and magic the gathering is better
My memory's not perfect but I feel like even back in classic priest was definitely in the conversation for bottom of the barrel with hero powers and its weaker hero power was a part of why it was often brought up as one of the weaker classes overall. Synergies with some of preists strong early heal synergies like Northsire Cleric or Auchenai Soulpreist is nice enough but even so, the hero power was more like the backup that made these cards not total bricks if you didn't draw them with the healing spells you really put them in your deck to synergise with like Circle of Healing.
@@belsantiago3491 what really kept priest as the bottom tier was the lack of a good curve , turns 3,5,7,8,9 priest didn't have a good option inside of their class. Shaman was the same story , shaman had a lot of 3 mana cards and most minions were horrible if it wasn't the fire elemental or the fire totem
Congrats on 5k subs! Your first video that hit my feed was the 'why i dont talk about bad cards' video ~ 6 months ago. Here's hoping for you channel to continue to grow 🎉
My favorite hero-power is the deathknight hero card for hunter. I love building beasts. I also enjoy the variety of duels (rip) and solo adventure (rip) hero powers.
I want to say I absolutely love the channel and have been watching the powerpoints daily, or binge watching every once in a while! I'd love to see more powerpoints like the powercreep ones about game concepts (card advantage and card drawing maybe?) but either way your presentations are great and i enjoy your perspective on stuff in the game, even after i quit playing
Congrats on 5k! You deserve so much more. Your videos really got me back into Hearthstone and I love how passionate you are with your videos. Please keep it up!
Congrats on the 5k, you really deserve it! You make great, informative content that is fun to watch and yet teaches a lot about this silly childrens card game. I'm glad to have been a small part of this journey, keep pushing and hope to see you at 10k soon !
Been playing hearthstone since right before the grand tournament and man your videos are so great! I enjoy the conversation, listening while playing other games. Keep the videos coming out, I should have subscribed sooner 👍
1. You forgot that Eliza can turn the base DK Hero Power to be just as good as the upgraded version or better as I've been able to turn it into a 2 Mana 4/1 with Charge. There are probably people that have gotten it even higher with dedicated decks. 2. I genuinely love Groovy Cat and Free Spirit. They're just fun cards to mess around with while also having the potential to be really dangerous in a dedicated deck. 3. Questline Hunter + Arcane Hunter is honestly pretty damn fun ,even if its not as powerful as it COULD be 4. Fireblast and Reinforce are the Hero Powers that have probably gotten the most healthy amount of support and aren't hard to make fun or even borderline broken 5. Mind Spike is so much better than Lesser Heal it might as well be the Class's actual Hero Power. The latter desperately needs a rework or smth. 6. Dagger Mastery at this point I feel works *against* you more than it helps you. Especially now that we have tons of Rogue Weapons that give significantly more value. 6. I'll be honest, I DESPISE the Shaman Hero Power. It was trash for years 9 times out of 10 and while I'm glad the recent Totem support cards have made it WAYY better, even meta, I still *despise* the randomness of the Hero Power. 7. Life Tap is literally the only Hero Power that never needed support. Paying 2 Mana and 2 Health for a Draw was always a good deal and with how much Healing & Removal there is in the game its arguibly only gotten better since the cost sometimes either doesn't matter or even HELPS you. 8. Sing Along Buddy and Garrison Commander unironically enabled the Paladin to have an Exodia with Ebon Blade Uther. So that's fun....
I just made a horseman otk paladin deck with sing-along buddy and garrison commander. Survive to turn 9, play Uther, and win the next turn. I turn faster if you have the coin. Order in the court is a must for actually drawing Uther, but aside from that the deck could be anything. I essentially made mine by just getting all cards that could draw minions and holy spells, and then any and every holy spell that could remove minions or heal. It might not be the best deck, but I'm having fun, and at least on the lower ranks I win almost 2/3 of the time.
I wish they would add an effect like Legends of Runeterra's mana gems to the hero power, something like "for each Unspent Mana last turn, your next Hero power cost (1) less". It would allow for better curve and make the HP more useful when you don't buff it
"I really really hate pirates." You know watching your vids I wasn't so sure how I felt about your views, but now that you say that about pirates, I changed my mind for the better. F pirates.
Odd warrior seemed like a fun deck back in Boomsday with Dr. Boom hero, and I loved playing against them because I’d always win with shudderwock combo 😊
My favorite goofy deck was to play Sir Finley to get Hunter hero power in mage, buff it with Wildfire, then summon a bunch of minions for my opponent and play Reckless Apprentice to kill my opponent. Was absolutely awful, but I got some wins off of it because of Ice Block.
some guy started making power points about card games (my exact niche) and got 4k subscribers in 9 videos i'm not gonna blow my fucking brains out actually
I really disagree that the base rogue hero power is bad. being able to just get a weapon you can bank on 2, deal with a 1 drop, trigger weapon synergies is just one of the best hero powers in standard. I think its underrated how good cards like deadly poison are specifically because you're always guaranteed to have a weapon, just look at how little play upgrade sees in warrior.
Congrats on 5K! Do you think Even DH would see play if Genn reduced HP cost by 1? Yes you would float a mana on odd turns (as if the HP cost 1), but you would get that mana back on even turns, the same way hero powering with other even decks floats you a mana on even turns (essentially being a non-reduced heropower) but the reduction is effective on odd turns.
20:25 I remember a time when save (not insta hit) rouge weapon was usefull and could decide a game, but now with a lot of better weapons for rouge for 2 and 1 mana and enemy minions with high stats, the hero power is really useless.
not even close really lol. Still do more for the community than most of them though (dunking on parallel whenever they try to say shit about hearthstone) I didn't get bribed
Reporting for duty, the paladin one is definitely my favorite hero power (i also think it's sad how they ruined the identity of dudes by adding some silly skins).
You're so right about 2 and 4 drops, but weirdly enough 6 drops are usually considered worse than 5 and 7 drops, is this just a wierd design trend or something else?
there is negative documentation on this game that is easily accessible in the slightest and I have gaps in my memory / eras I just didn't play so it's not really possible. Plus for some classes (priest) you have like 0 playable decks until like 2017
Congrats on 5k. Its bout time you invest on graphic design, so your powerpoints dont look like they were made either by a 12 yo or a 40 yo teacher. Much love ❤
I agree with everything, as a rogue player with 7k wins eogue heropower is the weirdest one. It is just feeling bad to press it if you have nothing to play. Bad heropower design.
Maybe rename video to "A Powerpoint About BASE Hero Powers" ? Because there cards what changes hero powers, like algalon, metamorphosis, dinomancy. (dont even talk about hero cards and uldum quest because already was powerpoint on that)
yeah surely there is enough of a difference to talk about fucking algalon in a video man that is easily one of the worst cards ever made who has ever actually won a game because of it

I remember when using Dagger Mastery on turn 2 was quite a good tempo play and Rogue didn't even run 2-drops.

Ive always liked Paladin hero power. No good nowadays, but way back, pressing the button to get a dude was just really good. I love that dude value.

you don't start the game with it
