Even though graphics have come a long way, the intro cinematic of the original Panzer Dragoon still looks so good. Even the in-game visuals were pretty for its time.

I wonder why they changed the dragon's shriek? That was iconic.
The Saturn version holds up very well, it's one of the games from that generation that still looks very good nowadays.

Now THIS is how you make remakes, with the frame rate now being much smoother than the original.
I wish we got remakes for all 3d polygon games for the ps1, saturn and n64. I hate the old blocky graphics and this video here is a perfect example of what can be done with modern hardware
It might look pretty, but they got the tone, look and feel all wrong and it didn't play as well as the original.
My ideal remaster is something that's like FF XII's zodiac age: Art direction, general atmosphere overall tone, it's the same there's just improved texture quality/updates models (that somehow don't contrast badlt with the backgrounds also), seriously search up comparisons if u like remasters; it is stunning
Zwei ran much smoother and at 60 fps. This one running at 30.
@@BedtimeStoriesChannelthen you are a goofball.because the remake is way f***ing better because it's in HD and thanks to the lastest temporary update there's bug fixes and improvement's to the gameplay and image quality and now they added the ability to switch to the classic and modern ost. But sadly the classical ost from the original version is digitally restored and remastered.
This looks fantastic! I know they're also planning to do a remake of Panzer Dragoon Zwei, which should also be great.
The one I'm really waiting for is a remake of Panzer Dragoon Saga, though.
Panzer Dragoon Zwei remake is cancelled. Saga will never be remade.

I remember being a kid and playing PD as One of my first games and thinking "wow just imagine what kind of games Im missing out, this is amaaaazing!", only to find as the years went by theres not that much TRULY original content in gaming that can compete.

OK dev folks! We heard for decades that they can't re-release Panzer Dragoon Saga because they lost the code! We this is completely remade with new code and art assets! Chop, chop! I hate when people are that unhappy that they can't get it ask and should appreciate what the have, but just saying is all! Not a bad thing to be made known for!

Perfect remake but it does not give the same feeling of cold dampness and desolation over the ocean.

Excelente série. Grande remake.
They got the tone all wrong in that first episode. It's supposed to be a bleak, post apocalyptic setting. There was far too much vibrancy and brightness. Completely went against what Sega achieved with their look and feel in the original Saturn version.
It would’ve been nice if the enemies and some environments had reflections over the water otherwise the graphical remake looks amazing

Sega supposedly lost the source code to the original. Along with the original House of the Dead.
@@SomeOrangeCat they made it an unlockable within Panzeer Dragoon Orta. But it's the PC version. Still, almost the same.
Faz um comparativo de Night into Dreams. Além do Saturno tem pra PC, PS3 e Xbox 360. Além da versão de PS2 que poucos conhecem.
Eu acho que os efeitos sonoros originais (principalmente o som dos lasers) causam 99999999999999999999X mais impacto e sensação de poder do que esses feitos sonoros "aguados"

Achei linda a versão PC, mas achei ela meio paradona. E acho mais agradável as CG da versão Saturn. O estilo gráfico arcaico me agradou mais, sem contar que o personagem ficou com uma face mais decente na versão original.

Esse remake prometia ficar bom mas quando joguei foi uma bela decepção, sequer iguala o original. Na parte de jogabilidade dá a sensação que piora a na parte gráfica achei bem genérico e com texturas que muitas vezes não encaixam no ambiente, o jogo perdeu todo o "charme" que tinha. Ainda tem a parte musical, que não ficou ruim mas também piorou e é algo que realmente não precisam ter mexido.
E pode parecer besteira mas o detalhe que mais me incomodou no remake foi o efeito de iluminação dos disparos normais, que ficam iluminando tudo por onde passam e dão a impressão que tá tudo piscando. No vídeo não dá pra perceber pq o disparo normal não foi muito usado.

Nem todo mundo tem um Saturn e o disco original, ou entende como emular no computador. Esse remake abre o jogo para ao menos 70 milhoes de pessoas que possuem um Switch. Em suma, necessário.
Que façam outro jogo, não façam remake. Isso é falta de inovação.

@@kekeke8988 Nah, I mean, there were arcade games and some stuff on the N64, but overall, I really like the visuals of the original, the surrounding areas are wide in scope, and the textures add this beautiful color pallet, particularly in the dessert level.

The Saturn version looks sad. Look at the short draw distance / pop in. It's horrible.
It really isn't that bad for a launch title. They didn't even have proper tools nor a real idea of the spec of the final hardware, so I think they did pretty well. _Zwei_ is better because they had experience with the hardware, and not because Sega were any help to them (they weren't).
Yeah, its pretty weak sauce to anyone who didn't have any previous attachment to it.
The Original Version released way before you were born. So graphic back then is sad.

Nah, 2600 was my first console, son. I can still say objectively the OG Saturn version looks like shit compared to the remake.
