😂 lawn care enthusiasts. Awesome of you to help someone out. That reminds me to thank you for sharing all your rotary knowledge! Great video! Keep them coming!!!
Like a good neighbor... My swap to abs calipers on the 164 was a nightmare, which I'm sure is not over 😂. Running all new lines allowed me to discover how much of my floor was missing. These cars can be so rusty... Great video Dean ✌️
Thank you for your content. It'd be awesome to see you add a turbo to a naturally aspirated Volvo from beginning to end using stock turbo parts. I think that'd be a cool series of videos. These repair videos can be helpful. Rather watch you fix an old Volvo than watch an unrealistic high dollar build. The only criticism, you need more leaf blower.
😂......The only reason to own a 244 is because you can't find a 245 or a 242. Still love you though, you're a saint for helping your neighbor with such a thorough service! Shout out for the DGRR shirt 😎
Enjoyed this one dean, forgot to finish it! Was good to see other bits! Always fun to see repairs and service work too as well as life in general ! Great work mate.
Funny you should mention it. I did it on the right side but not the left. Ive not noticed an issue if I don’t use it. Performance brakes seem to chatter more.
You'll get a magnet one day, I believe in you. Also, if you take one of them thar gloves and stretch it across the brake fluid reservoir fill hole, then put the cap over it, it won't leak fluid so bad/at all when you pull the lines off the calipers.
Your videos would not be complete without a contribution from the neighbourhood lawn care enthusiast. LOL. I know, I'm going out to my shed to fix something.
Not many to begin with, so the inventory of core calipers for remanufacturing isn't really there. ABS was optional on 1991 and some 1992 cars, standard on most 1992 and all 1993 cars.
In my country if you were seen putting brake fluid on the floor you would be in for a hefty fine even on a video they can prosecute you. But nice job anyway.
channel is too underrated !! keep up the good work man love to see it i have a 244 with a holley sniper on it
@@cannedfinger5570 that’s pretty cool!! Thanks for the fine words
Nice change of pace! Also a good example of how the scope of a project can creep out of control.
@@johnlorrieboskovic2836 sometimes it takes you for a ride!!
You're a gem for helping your neighbor and providing entertaining volvo content. Thanks!
Just trying to keep these old cars on the road!

It never fails, especially around here with leaves falling.

Its funny how much you can learn when trying to complete a minor upgrade! 164s always seem to rust quickly.
"Treat it like a new born". Really? I bet that comment inspired confidence in the little lady.
Nice vid.
Everyone needs a shake once in a while!

Thats a fair request. I have a car in my possession that would do well with a small turbo upgrade… maybe its time.
Living the dream, living the dream Dean.
Volvos for days!! Sometimes I like to stop and appreciate the beauty that is in my driveway lol
Great work and video, kind to help another volvo guy😀❤️
Love a volvo 244😎😍

Thanks for the love man! 244s are usually donor cars around here.
That 240 is lucky to find you Dean !
Very lucky indeed! I am happy to help out
Where is Turbo 242? Still waiting for new videos 🥲
Getting there! We are working towards it. Need to get the yellow 142 back together
@@DeanofMachines good to hear! I see that bleeding screw tip stay in mind :D
You are a good neighbor Dean! Nice detour from building fun cars and going fast 🤣
Welcome back Marcin! Its nice to do a small fix sometimes!!
Enjoyed this one dean, forgot to finish it! Was good to see other bits! Always fun to see repairs and service work too as well as life in general ! Great work mate.
Thanks man! The biggest challenge is keeping it interesting.
@ the loyal viewers will be interested in anything you do, don’t stress too much!
@ thats true! Real fans stick around!!
Great video. Even the mundane is interesting and entertaining to watch
Thank you! Its always a challenge you know? My editing has gotten better so it helps the process lol
Love seeing a new upload 😻
I love seeing you hanging out here in my comment section!! Thanks for coming back!
Well done Dean, You got it fixed in the end. These jobs always turn into something bigger. Ask me how I know?
It seems to go that way doesn’t it? Especially with our day light savings system. One minor setback and suddenly its dark outside
Love your Volvos bro
Thanks bro I appreciate you following the channel. It's good to have you has a friend!
Nice vid as always and mighty fine job you did :)
Thank you! It’s nice to help a neighbor out!
Hey Deano how's it going! Been a while since I caught u early! I'm still here following u in Volvo land! Mines running good! Be well my friends!!:😢
Hey Chuck! Things are good over here. Busy with life. Hope all is well on your end!
You can't go wrong with shiney brake disks, just a shame they don't stay that way for long 🚗
Yeah! They look fantastic brand new. The heat and moisture they experience ruins the darn things
@DeanofMachines damn you steel for being able to rust 😂😂
Thanks for the video. Just wondering, why no synth brake lube on the back of the rotors or pads? That green 244 is a gem :)
Funny you should mention it. I did it on the right side but not the left. Ive not noticed an issue if I don’t use it. Performance brakes seem to chatter more.

That is a great tip! But I wanted as much of the fluid to flush out as possible.
Your videos would not be complete without a contribution from the neighbourhood lawn care enthusiast. LOL.
I know, I'm going out to my shed to fix something.
It's good to know those freshly fallen leaves are no match!
hey man please put something against the brake pedal when removing the lines so the resevoir doesnt empty itself on the floor :)
I wanted the old fluid to runout.
Did you change out the lugnuts? Was the stud ok?
I have a can full of 240 lug nuts so I was able to make things right. The one stud that is in rough condition, it needs to be replaced.
does anyone know if they sell Brembo calipers for the 240s? been trying to search for a set of front calipers for awhile now.
There is a guy locally with a full s60R brembo setup for sale. Like new condition.
i think BNE Dynamics sells them.
Amazing car volvo 240❤
Its a very nice example of a stock Volvo 240!!
Volvo never came with Japanese bearings?? Not with SKF basically around the corner from the Factory.
Thats what I was thinking. Maybe someone put new and didn’t do it properly
The 244 drives better than a 242?
As far as driving in a stock 240, the 244 is plush smooth floaty old boat!
Why are there no ABS calipers available for the 240's now? Anyone?
Not many to begin with, so the inventory of core calipers for remanufacturing isn't really there. ABS was optional on 1991 and some 1992 cars, standard on most 1992 and all 1993 cars.
They are definitely hard to find.
@@john242ti That's a very good observation.
Cheers,, 🍻😎🇸🇪
Welcome back! I appreciate it every weekend!!
Could just have refurbished the calipers... 240 stuff can mostly be refurbished quite easily and quite cheap.
I will be keeping the old ones to refurbish later. At this point I wont even scrap a car with parts on it anymore
😎👍
Thanks again Lunks!
I can smell this video.
It has a great funk to it.
240s problems at same time
Like any old car they will need maintenance from time to time!
Wana see anything you post
I appreciate that a lot! It's a lot of work to make things interesting!
top gear tip, dont hit stuff with you palm, will hurt later in life
I understand! That’s why I switched to the hammer
In my country if you were seen putting brake fluid on the floor you would be in for a hefty fine even on a video they can prosecute you. But nice job anyway.
Thats true! Some countries are very strict about that.
stick to building fun cars ✅
and going fast? since when?!
Any car is fast if your floor it long enough
First!
Like an absolute legend!!
lawn care back NICE!!!!
You know it!
