Best Monitor for Teleprompter (can mirror / flip any computer image)

- Lilliput monitors are ideal for use with teleprompters because they have a horizontal flip function built-in. amzn.to/478fCrM (AD) This allows the image from your computer to be displayed as a mirror image or reverse image. And then the image appears correct when you look into the teleprompter mirror.
The FA1016C is an affordable, large (for a teleprompter) screen with simple menus to configure.

And thank you to Lilliput for providing me with this sample to review. I had been recommending the Lilliput A8 until it was discontinued. Then I recommended the A11, but it was more expensive. The FA1016C is the perfect combination of features and price point for my clients.

Also, I use SpeakFlow to scroll my script across the screen - matching the words as I speak them. www.speakflow....

Great video - thanks. Two questions for you (if you don't mind): (1) what software are you using on your mac to track your speech - it seems to work pretty well, and (2) how easy is it to set up the window size - I tried once before and every window I tried to use on the screen (i.e. zoom) was so small and I really struggled maximizing it with ease. Thanks so much
Thanks for the recommendation. I was about to pickup the A11 but after to seeing your review I went with 1016. I’m in the UK and is was a bit difficult to find but got it. I picked up the touch version which the supplier provided at same cost as non touch. Out of the box the touch only works if you use the usb connection so I’ve ignored. So far so good. I use with Glide Gear teleprompter.

Can you use a 7 inch Liliput monitor?
Thanks for the recommendation, I just purchased the same monitor, but everything on the screen is too small even when I set it to the minimum resolution possible in my mac settings. What screen resolution did you set on your monitor?
I'm on a Mac and they don't share the resolution any more - it just says "bigger text" vs "more space." You could try setting the lilliput as the primary monitor and have the other mirrored. I hope that helps

I am a profesionnal teleprompter operator and I only use Presentation Prompter on Mac OS , it can flip iits output straight from the the VGA or HDMI out for the second screen
This video was a huge help for my first go at setting this up. However, I've found I've been using it more and more for videoconferencing as well, and I'm trying to get a bigger screen in the window. Any guidance for a bigger one with the same (vital!) horizontal flip function?

The A11 is great. I have one too. The only downside is that it has more functions, so you may need to configure it more to "dumb it down." I believe you can follow the steps from this video: th-cam.com/video/WxkxtFN0dwg/w-d-xo.html

@@Kitakueigo I went with a Glide Gear teleprompter using my iPad and Luna Display and it works really well. I have the Sony A6400 too. I use Promptsmart software with voice track which is pretty good a tracking my voice.

You NEED an hdmi IN and OUT if you want to use the monitor in conjunction with an ATEM mini.

I'm not sure if this a good question but what if I use my iPad instead of this monitor? How is this monitor better than an iPad?
Can you horizontal flip the screen of your iPad? If you can, you don’t need a monitor like in this video.
as Kitakueigo mentions, this monitor can flip the screen so that everything reads correctly in a mirror.
If you are only using it to read a script, almost all teleprompter software will flip the image. But if you are doing calls where you need to use the mouse, then you'll need a monitor that flips the image.
You can use a program spacedesk to transmit from your PC to your iPad. This program includes an option to mirror flip the iPad screen (it connects via wifi). I have tested and it works quite well, but I wouldl love too see how it compares to a dedicated monitor.
I have only just bought a teleprompter myself (a Desview T12S) and I am trying to decide whether to just use my iPad or buy a dedicated monitor.
Instructions on how to set up are incomplete. Where do you plug in the hdmi cable on an iMac that does not have an hdmi port

I would think it would work, but I've never seen a monitor that didn't. Clearly, you've found one and that's news to me :-) I have mine plugged into a USBC Hub using the HDMI cable and it works. I would think that's a good sign.
I don't seem to be able to find a 12" monitor with the flip image function. Does anyone know if such monitor exists?

Honestly so surprised that we can't just do that with our regular computer or laptop. Does anyone know if that is possible?
I don't know of any computer or laptop that can horizontally flip the screen.
You get software to flip a chosen monitor horizontally. I haven't tried it yet but there is a program called UltraMon that includes this feature. I hope it works as I wasn't planning on buying such an expensive monitor as the one being demonstrated here.

I just checked the Beetronics website, I randomly picked the 13” model and saw in the pdf, page 16, there is horizontal flip, vertical flip, and horizontal + vertical flip.
