      Thanks for watching and commenting! Yes, Billy Paxton Block is one of the two I usually use - because I had a bit of time there with the Citi-Def, it seemed like a good time to have a bit of fun with Hudson’s dialogue! ~ Gordon

    Excellent ! And I just played the game today for the first time. Your video is great. ❤ by the way what did you use for the buldings? Looks like battlesystems? Or an other brand?😮

      Thanks so much for watching and leaving such a kind comment! It’s brand new terrain by Acid House Terrain that I backed on a Kickstarter last autumn. They‘ve made 2nd and 3rd printings of their sci-fi terrain set so I’d expect that this cyberpunk set will get the same treatment in due course! How did your first game go? Did you enjoy it? ~ Gordon

    Awesome showcase there, and the music really complements it. It kinda felt like a mini battle report on a massive game!

    • @LifeofDie
      @LifeofDie  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh, cheers! The music is by Sawtooth Synth who you can find on Instagram - he is a family member as well so I’ll pass on the kind words!
      It’s interesting that you mention about it being a mini battle report of a massive game as I have been wanting to do some larger scale games! The problem I’ve been grappling with is that the runtimes on larger games would end up massively exceeding the 1hr mark and I’m not sure many people would have the stomach for that (myself included). Maybe something more narrative-driven with little pieces of footage - similar to the vignettes here - with voiceover turn summaries might work. You’d lose some of the fun of seeing dice rolls and hearing in-game reactions, but maybe the odd report like that might be good to do. We have loads more Dredd in the pipeline so it’ll be a while, but thank you for commenting as you may have started something here! ~ Gordon

      @@LifeofDie The narrative style would work better for something like this, I reckon. As you’ve said before, you love the cinematic style of things, and I think that can be conveyed a lot more easily in a skirmish game than with full-on army battle reports. In the latter, I’d rather see the process and how people think/react and how the dice rolls go, but in the former, I love to see the smaller groups just going at it, with some expo on why. That’s just me though, other folks might think different!

      @@thesmoog734 I’m quite pleased you said that as I always hope that people enjoy hearing our reactions even though we’re never on camera.
      The usual format with all of the rolls and reactions will be the default for a good while to come (as a 6 part Dredd campaign is being worked on) but, as you said, it would be fun to try to itch that cinematic scratch every now and again! Cheers again! ~ Gordon

      @@LifeofDie it’s occurred to me that some of my posts might sound somewhat critical. Please don’t take them that way, I love what you’re doing, and keep doing it!

    • @LifeofDie
      @LifeofDie  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@thesmoog734 Please don’t worry about that as I can’t think of anything you’ve said as being critical at all, the exact opposite, in fact! Unless I misunderstood, I took your comment to mean that you enjoy the live play reports best, but that for larger games maybe a cinematic, boiled down version would be more appropriate? If so, that’s really a big compliment because that is the main format that I do! I just like to try different things now and again but I also know how much work goes into creating something that looks cinematic over simply shooting the action as it happens, so this may not go anywhere! It’s honestly great to be able to throw ideas out there and to get honest feedback from a regular! Please always share your thoughts because I’m always trying to improve and constructive criticism is always welcomed! 🙂 ~ Gordon

    • @LifeofDie

    Ah mate . Should be super proud of that , thats awesome🤟 is this dredd game easy to play? I’m way to autistic to understand the rules of 40k and was wondering if this game is easier or not

    • @LifeofDie
      @LifeofDie  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tomsaint786 Oh, thanks for that, I’m delighted you like the set up! So far as comparing 40K to this, it’s hard for me to say as I haven’t played 40K since 1st Edition. The core rules are roughly 30 pages although they have a lot of images from the strip so it’s not 30 pages of solid text.
      Some of my earlier Dredd battle reports (I think) have more explanation of rules but combat can be boiled down to the following 4 dice rolls:-
      1. Attacking model rolls to hit
      2. If hit, Target model attempts to Evade
      3. If Evade fails, Roll for Power of attack
      4. Roll for Resist, total up shield results
      Subtract number of shields rolled from hits and apply damage.
      Maybe the battle reports will help you get a feel for it more than I can explain in text, but I personally love how they’ve really brought the madness of MC-1 to the tabletop! Thanks again for the kind words and reaching out! ~ Gordon
