one material u missed out on is ceramics and dried clay (I guess they would be in the rock category lol) but these two things are common hobby materials that would be cool if u could engrave them.
Do you have tutorial how to setup software and calibrate the cnc to the software thankyouuu just bought 2nd hand of that machine came out with cnc and laser❤
I have tried using a similar laser mounted on an Axidraw, I wanted to switch the beam off /on rapidly between burns but wonder if toggling the lasers power supply would damage the laser ?
Any 5.5w laser module should work. Mine came with my CNC, but they are available on Amazon. Just make sure you get a pair of reliable safety glasses from a trusted source such as survival lasers: www.survivallaserusa.com/browse/cat1667093_1527285.aspx
I believe this is possible using real leather. However, be careful what leather you use because synthetic or fake leather that contains PVC or Vinyl can release some nasty and dangerous fumes when laser etched.
The focus distance on Mt 5 watt diode laser is 20mm. Appears, in your video, that your laser was 6 to 8 times that distance. What distance above the surface you were etching did you set the lense?
@@donniee1934 I set the height of the laser arbitrarily and then just adjusted the lens built into the laser module until the spot size was the smallest possible.
Oh OK, I understand now. I kept wondering how you were getting such fine detail with the laser so far above the material. Thanks, appreciate the lesson.😊😊😊
I am trying to set up a 4030 genmitsu v2 and need to know the G code and $$ settings i can get the laser to fire but not much else your help would be greatly appreciated
Thank You!!!!

I'm finally getting around to using my 3018 and gave me ideas. What software did you use? Thanks
Currently I use Lightburn (Featured Here:

Can it cut fabric materials?
Doing some research online, the laser in this video should be able to cut most regular thickness fabrics, however I haven't tested this myself.

I do have a beginners guide for using 3018 CNC machines with Easel for milling operations. Nothing specific to laser modules yet.
did it engrave aluminum then? , checked the channel no video yet!
The laser can engrave painted/anodized aluminum, but not bare aluminum itself

It probably won’t damage the laser but that’s probably also not the best control method. I would suggest using the PWM input on the laser controller.
will try that, thank you@@CarbonCoil
Can it cut 5 mm acraylic sheet sir!?
This diode laser can't cut 5mm acrylic
I’m getting the CBC version from an auction, no laser. Which laser, and where can I buy the upgraded module?

Can make designs on leather

Wow, when did you get 2k?!?, also cool vid
It's been a while, but thank you!
What's the focus distance on that laser?
If I understand your question correctly, the focus distance is adjustable because the lens is able to move.

There shouldn’t be any manual G-code configuration required with Genmitsu machines. Are you using LaserGRBL, or some other software?
