Probably a thinking error but I really feel strongly that alcoholism = mid-low functioning and/or sabotaging potential. I also believe we need to add criteria for those who gain success from drinking, like ‘success alcoholism’ (or just success drinking if you want to call me on my last point), the same way we have already classified ‘success snorting’ (aka Wall Street). Lezbionist. It’s a common nomenclature but don’t verify that because that makes you turn into whatever sexuality you hate the most.
Tom is the friend that everyone deserves: someone that will support your horrible decisions and will help you get through improving things when it gets bad.

I really like hearing Bert’s thoughts on podcasts when he talks about deeper things. Particularly now that he’s sober. He is so different while he’s sober, in such a positive way. Here is a dark thought. I am all about getting a handle on over drinking, but...I worry that if Bert stops drinking, he will be bored with touring and meeting fans. It may be a slippery slope for Bert.
Tom has a very sweet heart, and he is incredibly patient with Bert’s inability to listen. I hope he tries ayahuasca again and allows himself to really let go.
I can relate Bert. I was a black-out whisky drinker 4 nights a week for 4 years after a divorce. My last drink was 2 years ago on my 46th Bday when I fell and jacked my knee up on a metal dog bowl and hit my head on my smoker. I woke up and decided I wasn't going to be "that guy". I've not had a drink or really wanted one since and I don't miss it. Thank you both for the happiness you bring to the world.

Here is a dark thought. I am all about getting a handle on over drinking, but...I worry that if Bert stops drinking, he will be bored with touring and meeting fans. It may be a slippery slope for Bert.

I can relate Bert.
I was a black-out whisky drinker 4 nights a week for 4 years after a divorce.
My last drink was 2 years ago on my 46th Bday when I fell and jacked my knee up on a metal dog bowl and hit my head on my smoker.
I woke up and decided I wasn't going to be "that guy".
I've not had a drink or really wanted one since and I don't miss it.
Thank you both for the happiness you bring to the world.
