Great review and a great boot, I wear these for pounding the beat too. Had mine for around 8 year, had them re-soled two years ago. These boots were outstanding in the last few sub zero winters and cannot be recommended enough. Loving the reviews bud, keep up the good work!

Thanks for sharing.. FYI, I've used the same pair of these for at least 6-7 years (I've lost track), having fallen in love with them and their support, I bought 2 spare pair, and today is when I had to put the first spare on. It seems while the shoe laces rott away in 6 months, the shoes themselves took me this long to wear the soles down to smooth moccasin style, and they just came apart from the leather this week.
I may need to see if Lowa in German might resole the used pair, but even 6 years is amazing with hard daily use. I've just ordered a replacement pair from a UK vendor. I've tried a few other lowa models, like the mountain, etc, but for ubran and hot climates, this is the best I've ever worn.

Agreed, i love this boots to death!!!
the toe box is wider, i can move my toes inside, and i am E foot.
Thank you very much for this review!!! it helped me a lot, to decide, finally i got the mega camp (leather lining) and this is real quality leather, you can feel that.
This boost make my 5 year old Columbia Diablo Pass ( pretty much beaten) look like Barbie shoes, i mean, this is another league about craftmanship and materials. They are indeed pricey, but they worth every penny spent, you wont regret to get these Lowa.

Awesomely comfy tough look mint after 3 years but the soles , iv had them go like cake crumbs around the heels .. and so have others .. awesome boot but the han wag soles are problematic ( they do share han wag soles)

Look the dogs BUT iv never had lowa soles last a year . I started buying hanwag trapper top gtx . I loved my lowas but carting heavy packs , the thin sole glued to the midsole went . After a resole again gone , hmmm meindle scarpa every other boot outlasted them . I suppose because they looked so good after a year it bugged me all the more .. its hanwag for me the ball bearing lacing is decades ahead

I might just buy them, the black color looks much more versatile to use it in city as winter boots I think.
There is also like the Meindl Island Pro boots, equivalent to those. Tough choice!

Ive had AKU pilgrims for the last 3 years, rolled my ankle thanks to a delightful character. Moved to these boots, feel very confident with the support they offer.
Aku boots were great, very comfy and lightweight but I've decided ankle support is more important to me than weight.

Are these boots correct size? Or are they cut large or small?
    Thanks.

Some posties in my office swear by these but wear thru the sole within 2 to 3 months, yes they are resoleable but do that 4 times a year and it all adds up

    • @djaw827

Is the sole so fragile that it needs to be resoled so quickly ?

    • @godzilla12325
      @godzilla12325 ปีที่แล้ว

@@djaw827 its just the mileage we walk, 10 to 15 miles a day on pavement rubs the heels away quite quickly. Metal heel caps would help when you get the first resole.

I have had these boots for a while now and I love them. However, I have ruined one of the soles and need them re-soled. Any ideas as to where I can get them sorted please?

Wandering Wolf If you can't find a UK company to resole them, Lowa in Germany will do it. Their website has all the details.

Wandering Wolf I have a video on my channel that shows you who to use in the UK to have your LOWAs re-soled.

I have those... they're very good but there are better boots available... I have had these for about 5 years now but that Gtx is a problem... I don't really know why people push for Gtx... when they get wet, they take forever to dry...I'd rather have leather lined or unlined stuff. Those dry out a hell of a lot faster. But ,Yes! One could have the whole sole unit, including the rand replaced. I've had mine resoled once. Costs about 30-35 euros .

Dave Craig I am late but you can get this boot in 1 or 2 wide size i know i got the wide size and just love the boot 5 year and still going strong.

Dave Craig Look for a pair that has the size followed by the letter "L". I have broad feet and the 7L is perfect for me.
