Our mayor would just try and figure. How to funnel the funds somewhere else. We have the highest water rates in the country and can't use the water. They don't care about us
Have been a technician for Culligan Water filtration systems for over 10 years. Providing multiple water filtration locations for Flint *shouldn't* be too costly of a venture. The whole setup likely costs around $1500, with the filters needing replacement every 3-6 months and the UV bulb needing a replacement every year, as well as some general maintenance, likely monthly in this case. The cost of the filters would likely be around $60 in total (but no more than $100), and the same for the bulb. General maintenance would only include a checkup on the systems function, checking the filters, and some cleaning. Far less labor and far cheaper water supply than bottles, and having multiple Water Boxes would allow for less load on each individual system. I'm surprised something like this wasn't already done a long time ago, honestly.

And here I thought that the best thing that we could get from Jaden Smith was "deep quotes" and rap music...
Guess I was wrong.
Jordan Lukach you’re worried about a hat. And the fact that you didn’t see him do anything in a 15 minute video lol. Maybe you should grow up and look at the bigger picture

This is beautiful. I'm in tears, happy, renewed hope filled tears. Thank you.
Ermelinda Cortes I’m in tears too, but sad, frustrated tears that this country I call home, for years has allowed this and is making them figure it out for themselves. I’m grateful jaden is focusing on it and helping, but fuck. If they’ll allow something so egregious to continue to happen for so long, what else will they let slide? It just hurts my heart and scares me. I thought it was relatively safe here, but people are dying and getting sick. For what? Idk this just makes me mad.
Will and Jada raised a good kid, right there. 💗
This is a very high quality video for a channel with less than 3k subs, great job
Great eyes.. definitely professional
Amazing docu, Jaden thank you for coming to my beautiful state of Michigan and helping the families of Flint. They need so much more help. My best regards to the people who filmed, edited, and participated in this. Amazing work on all aspects!!
We are FIGHTING for you Flint!
Know that. We stand at the ready...
I believe in FLINT! WRWY! Keep faith!
Farmer Funkk thank you for that
How are you fighting for flint, I may want to join you!
When I was younger I often would wonder how Jaden would turn out as a man, having a father like will. I imagine it could be hard at times. But he has turned out to be such a humble amazing person. Flint will rise again! Much love to everyone
Watching this video gives me hope for humanity. Thank you Jaden 🙏🏾.

Consider the fact that if the water is bad you must BUY it. I read an article about drinking water several years ago and the CEO of Nestlé said that everyone should pay for water... Hmmm... Since reading the article, over the years the Nestlé company has bought up many other bottled water brands... Beginning to get the picture now ?
Nestle water is literally the cheapest water u can buy in my town!
It’s £2 for 8 bottles
Evian and even smart is like £3 for 6 bottles!
Get the picture now?
I don't get it
Dont we already have water bills tho? I thought we were already paying, unless it's a public fountain.
GetYour Fix That’s also fueled by taxes we pay so basically we pay for all them unless you drink out of a spring or lake
Oh gods... that is ABHORRENT what they are doing!
They should make a Protective case for those! *Water Box Otter Box*
Don't forget about Flynt- Thanks to you all making an impact!!!
"water bill"
excuse me what water
I absolutely respect Jaden Smith for this. Thank you Lord for blessing him to help our ppl meaning everyone in flint love you bro.
My family and I got in a rollover accident on the highway and lost everything, on the highway passing flint Michigan. The workers at that hospital were some of the best people we've ever met. This was about 1 year before the water crisis, God bless Flint
Love from Chicago. Midwest strong ❤️
this right here fits in so well with what John Green was saying in his video about the hospital in Sierra Leone, people give to charity because it makes them feel better but rarely do they think through how much help they are actually providing. In that case a charity had donated a generator to the hospital which was not compatible with the electrical grid and thus not usable, in this case all these people were donating bottles of water but didn't bother to ask the people of flint how they can create the infrastructure to change the situation rather than just immediate resources. Jaden Amithe and however you pronounce this organisation did that, they sat down to talk with the people at ground zero to find out about doing something together and I think it's amazing.
This is the John Green video if any of you were interested th-cam.com/video/Xk_SfS5UTVs/w-d-xo.html

I am BEYOND proud of these people for seeing a problem and fixing it. The church serving the people is what it's all about. I love their faith and endurance and community.
So what is your solution?
A big filter.
Filter rain water.
Thank you for caring for our city a lot of people don't
So the miracle is the same water filtration system I have in the basement..... besides mine having more stages. Time for flint to pay for whole hose filtration systems for everyone.
Given the price, I can’t believe they didn’t do it on their own dime, it’s gotta be difficult to bathe with bottled water.
Thank you Jaden
Only 45 seconds in and I can tell this is a very well thought out documentary. Crazy how nothing has been changed.
He really be an icon living🔥
There is a guy - Moses West- that built a machine solving most of this problem as well but someone damaged it and broke it down for some reason.
Hello I live in Flint and I live by flint river. We have been given 77.7 million dollars to fix the pipes and they have (very slowly) been fixing the pipes but our water is still very bad. I’m truly sorry for those that live in flint as that less fortunate and pipes are still filled with lead. I’m happy that people are still helping my city and won’t give up until we get clean water.
I can't believe you used Sweden by C418. Such awesome background music

@@EndearingFish I'm pretty sure he was joking...
I’m not trying to be mean or disrespectful but what really made me upset was when at 1:13 when the person said that “ this has never happened in America before” referring to the water shortages. I would like to just bring light to the fact that a lot of Native American reserves in America have been without clean drinking water for generations, so flint is not the only place this is happening. The American government really needs to fix this water crisis all over America soon because a lot of people are suffering and nobody should be without clean drinking water.
I hope nobody took this the wrong way
I think he was speaking of the crisis... there is no shortage in Flint... and it has happened exactly the same in Baltimore DC and New York
This is so beautiful. Very grateful for the team that worked together to make this happen.
Thank you for providing the link to allow others to help donate.

Thanks recremended section! This is very informative.
"The human right to water and sanitation. On 28 July 2010, through Resolution 64/292, the United Nations General Assembly explicitly recognized the human right to water and sanitation and acknowledged that clean drinking water and sanitation are essential to the realisation of all human rights."
Trump cancelled all that!
Born there and had my children there. I am so glad I got out of there when I did.
Man please i wouldve been moved from flint. Im not paying taxes bills nothing for a city that dont care about me sorry
Angel Nelson it’s hard to move from flint because they don’t have the money to move to another place. They lived their entire lives there and nobody wants to buy a house at flint. The people that could move already did.
@@GG-sp6ny honestly, if you have 2 working feet, it's not hard to move. I have moved plenty of times because I couldn't afford to live in LA or their was a better opportunity else where. You take a temporary loss, then you recover to be better than before.

Stay strong Flint. Praying for all our people scattered to the four corners of the world. We won't be oppressed long. Deuteronomy 30🙏🏾

New found respect brother
The shadow that Jadon was cast under was enormous. But, he continues to cast his own shadow. Nice work Jadon!🙏
My heart was filled with pure joy when I had witnessed this from my abode about this Water Box in Flint. And it wasn't anybody in city or state government who brought this Water Box out. It was the actions of an actor's brother.
They run the box for 2 hours on Wednesday.
It's a glorified filter system that can be put together at Home Depot for under $500. The box costs more.
Most people don't have $500 just laying around.
The Smith family should be furious their name is on this. The box costs more than the filtration.
The flight to Flint cost them more than the company they paired with delivered.
And they only run the box for 2 hours on Wednesday.
Something really shady is going on with this whole thing.
Is that really Jaden Smith? He's grown up so much he's a really down to earth nice guy now.

ardith bard yep 2¢ a gallon is insane.
ardith bard if you not using the water how do you have a bill?
Y’all bout ready for this revolution?
