Hi Tessie, I was lower middle class growing up, with an alcoholic father and a loving, wise mother. She told me to remember three things: The best don't always finish first. You don't always get what you want. And life's not fair. Now I'm in my senior years and realize what she was saying. Be grateful for what you have, keep your faith in God, and just keep putting one foot in front of the other. Food might have been scarce sometimes but my mom would find joy in playing dress up with me. No matter how low we got she always found something to be grateful for. She found ways to be joyful. Our dear 30 year old friend who has only been married 6 months just found out she has Lou G disease...she has 2 years to live. She is full of joy and the peace of Jesus! What an amazing example to me....thank you Lord for saints who shine in the midst of such sorrow!💝

I’ve seen homeless people that have nothing, so I feel blessed.
I’m not complaining, I have a roof over my head, food to eat and I woke up because the Lord our savior gave me another day.

Tesse I noticed your stove. If you are using propane or bottled gas. I had a similar problem. I was down to 1 small burner and no way to replace the stove. We bought a new set of burners for propane from amazon for less than £8.00 . It revitalized my stove. In the UK 🇬🇧 "We say keep you chin up." When you hit a rocky place. GOD BLess.❤

Hi Tessie! I’m here to build you up and bring you joy today. You brought me joy with this video. I reflected back on the day when I received my cancer diagnosis two years ago. It just feels like it was yesterday. I didn’t cry, I didn’t think I was going to die, I pushed forward with a smile on my face and a positive attitude. I went through all the treatments. It wasn’t always easy. I was diagnosed a stage four. Today I am still cancer clear, and it will be three years in March. It’s not about how much money or “stuff” we have, but how we take care of ourselves and what we’ve been given by God. You are a blessing to many of us. So what I see is that ole satan trying to knock you down. There will always be people who have more than others, but are they truly happy? I feel I am truly happy and I am so grateful that I serve a mighty God that takes care of me and all my needs. My heart and prayers are with you. I should write a book LOL. We all have a story, where we came from, where we’ve been, and where we are headed.
May God shine his light upon you and bring you peace. I pray a blessing over you and your husband so that you can continue doing what you’re doing. With love and respect,

I needed your pep talk today. We've had a rough 2 years since my husband had several strokes. God gives me all I need for each day, but I sometimes feel sorry for myself. I was reminded by a friend today to keep the faith, then I heard your talk, Tessie. I thank you for persevering and sharing your story about it.

God bless you! I know what you're going through in a way. Mine has dementia and it so hard to have him but not have him... I call him my baby. He laughs. I miss being able to talk to him. Having to deal now with him not being able to stand and is becoming bedfast. I have to care for him alone 24hrs and 7 days a week. And that is ok but sometimes I just need a rest or be able to see my doctor, etc. I need to hire someone to stay a little with him, but afraid he will be afraid or not treated well. He is sweet and kind so it is better than some have it. But the stress is taking it's toll on me. It is ok to feel down about your situation. It doesn't mean you have less trust in God to help you etc. But, we are human and He cares about our sorrows. I wish you all the best and health and happiness.

Hello Tessie, I hope all your trials for 2024 are over. Mine didn’t start out great either, first week found out my sister has lung cancer, second week my whole household had Covid. The way I look at it’s over early, so the rest of the year will be great. God willing. 😊
Something will always happen. For me there were big storms this past week and my electricity was out for 3 days. Just appreciate things when you have them.
There are very few people that have perfect lives. I have been widowed 21 years and i am so grateful to God for keeping me in my home all these years but is not without its challenges. I depend on Him every day of my life to help me.

You and your husband are so wise and grounded. You always have such helpful thoughts. Times like you have been through recently have been hard but you handle it all with grace and wisdom. I was not expecting to face life threatening cancer this year but hearing your words reinforces what I know and need to hear. A grateful heart and being thankful allows us to live abundantly...no matter what we face.

My word for the year is gratitude. My husband was recently diagnosed with a life threatening illness. If he does not have a complicated surgery at a medical center 8 hours away he will die. We will have to travel, live away from home for probably a month or more as he goes through surgery and recovery. Not what I was expecting for 2024. But I am grateful for friends, neighbors, and family who will take care of our home while we are away, grateful we have a decent vehicle to get us back and forth safely to the medical center, grateful to the doctors and workers who diagnosed his problem, grateful to the surgeon who is skillful in performing the surgery, grateful that the medical center is within driving distance. We are low income as well, never living over our means. I am grateful that I learned frugal living ways from my grandmothers so that we have a savings that will be used to pay for these unexpected expenses. We are all in the same boat. One step forward and two steps back, but if all goes well, I will still have my husband, best friend, and life partner with me to continue the journey called life. Gratitude.

Tessie, if you have never watched the movie "Up," I suggest you see at least the first 15 m. Its all about this struggle. You save for a dream and then life happens. Repeat. The best we can do is turn our thinking around and say "Thank God I have the money" instead of "I used all my money!". ❤

I can relate, along with so many others. We do what we need to do to keep our homes working. We fix & use things until they're dead. We do what we need to do. 💚🌞
I will say that I think I am happier living a simpler life. My hubby grew up with money, I did not. Trying live up to his expectations a living high was stressful. Now I have taught him to live frugal and we are both happier for it. Thank you for reminding us that you need to find joy in all you have. It is had sometimes but I believe we are better in the end.
You look discouraged but, good job focusing on the positives. You have an amazing family and home. A lot of people need encouragement and look to you for it because you are honest! Unlike most of the people online.

November 2nd, my husband went to be with the Lord. I will be forever grateful that a few days before, he told our oldest son that he was ready to see Jesus. I was concerned about how I would handle it but my God has helped me tremendously along with praying friends and family. Be glad Tessie that you and your husband was wise enough to save the money for emergencies like this or you might have to be borrowing money right now.
Happens to everyone around the globe when things happen and need fixing or replacing. Big houses mean bigger. things to go bad.
You are right , it is how you look at life and challenges. We have had the hardest time of our life recently. The day before Thanksgiving my husband ended up in the hospital and was diagnosed with cancer. Then the very next week we were back as he had a series of stokes from the cancer. We never thought this would happen and life tossed us a big curve ball. Being joyful is not where I am at this moment. Everyday is a struggle with my mindset. It is extremely difficult to be positive when you see your husband struggling with this disease. I thank God for our family as they have all tried to be here and help. Tess I am glad you had your savings account for the emergencies that have come your way. You both have been good stewards of what God has given you and He will bless you for your due diligence.

There are a growing number of homeless people in this country. I feel very blessed even though I would be considered low income by most. I always have everything I need and most of what I want. Everything is relative.

Prayers for someone who has suffered the greatest loss that a human can experience (in my view). Our Heavenly Father witnessed the death of his son on the cross too... but the Resurrection was what followed.

I hear you, Tessie. 2023, for us, was horrible. Then, today, Sunday, some park manager pounds on our door telling us we have to be out of here by tomorrow. Threatening to have us physically thrown out and locked out. Our lot rent is fully paid for January and we own our mobile home. I nearly had a full-blown panic attack. We can't do anything until Tuesday because Monday is Martin Luther King day. We've had over $4,000.00 hacked (stolen?) from our bank accounts in 2023. We're looking for places to move to, but without help financially, it's impossible. I pray you never have to go through that. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers 🙏 I love watching your videos and have been watching older videos as well. Thank you for letting me vent. Thank you for being an inspiration for me ❤❤

Hi Tessie - I know exactly how you feel. This past year was a test for us. My husband was seriously ill and in hospital for a month and then a rehabilitation center for another month for physical therapy. It drained our savings and he was forced
To retire. But we worked together and our income is extremely lower than what it was but the Lord was there for us and everything worked out. He is always there for us. I do know exactly where you are coming from. I’m so grateful that the lord is there for us always

I understand so well! It’s obvious you take pride in your home and yard! You inspire me to do better. I’ve got to get a new pump, plus a bunch of work done on my house. I put it off because I don’t know how I’ll pay for it. I’ve been sick for the last week and a half. My insurance is going up to the point where I may have to go back to work full time. I’m retired, still working part time. My mother has dementia and the stress has me so depressed.. between all of it going on. I just try to keep praying… Thanks for being real!

I always thought we grew up “poor” but my dad would say life isn’t measured by what money you have in the bank but by the steps that you take in your faith. I’m 65 now and from many challenges in life, my dad gone for 11 years, his words still ring true. Sending much love and strength in faith♥️🙏♥️
Hey Tessie, I do know what you mean when everything happens at once and back to back. I never had things happened in 3s. My test usually comes in 10s and up except the last tests (that have not stopped yet😂) I stopped counting when things hit around 30 different things (Then I could not count for a while😅 true story) but to make this short God has worked each thing out one at a time that was the most important. He had to temporarily strip me of my power so he could show me I was trying to do everything myself and not trusting him fully... I hope I have learned the lesson he wanted me to learn and I guess only time will tell but as of now I have learned so much I never knew or thought I needed to know. All is well with my soul and the rest will catch up eventually lol. So yes I can say I know what you are saying in this touching Heart to Heart tonight. Love you my special sisterfriend🤗💙🙏

In the Bible there is a book of Job and he lost everything and the devil was after him all the time testing and testing him but he never gave up his faith in God we are being tested all the time. Just remember it can always be worse we in northern MN have snow, cold below 0 with windshield -30 that would have made your situation much much worse. Nothing that He permits/allows into our lives is to hurt us but to grow us.
I had a setback myself today because my sink in the bathroom sprung a massive leak. I had to buy a new faucet because the type I had no washers in it so I had to buy a whole new faucet. Long story short it cost me 225.00 because I had to call a plumber and just to walk in my house was 100.00 plus parts and labor. Just grateful I had enough in my account.
We spent much of '22 reactively being flexible and adaptable. Our watch words for '23 were "flexibility and adaptability"; being proactive about it sure felt better. We are differently prepared as a result and '24's watch words are every little bit counts".

I always say if it ain't one thing then it's fifteen others. The car has to go in the shop and the power kicked off today and blew the socket in my kitchen light so it no longer works. Thankfully I still have one over the sink so I will just work over there til I can afford to fix it.

That’s right Tessie, this is just a little bend in the river of life. At the start of your video I was afraid something terrible had happened, not that the things you had happened wasn’t bad, especially the ordeal with your daughter. I guess what I’m trying to say is you have so much, a loving husband and you are together. Your children are healthy and happy as far as we know. You still have your healthy beautiful grandchildren, so much to rejoice about. I heard you say that closer to the end of the video. Most of all you know the Lord who by the Spirit leads you into all truth. By the time you are my age, another 20years for you, you will have weathered more storms of life, over and over if time tarries but these you have mastered now will remind you then, God is Faithful. We are all going through different things. We all have certain blessings and we also have things that are setbacks. You are blessed with a son, two daughters and your grandchildren (not to mention Hubby!) I am thankful for my husband and my adult son who lives with us.

To be low income does not mean a person is not supposed to take care of what they have. Just because someone does not look low income does not mean they make way less. The difference is if a person is low income or makes more what kind of Stewart are we with our money. You are a good Stewart with your money. Being a good Stewart means many times saying no to things that are not a emergency if it means going into debt. I like to watch your channel and your creativity and showing how we can pinch our pennies and still live fine. If those who made a lot more take these tips from your channel it would help them too.
I'm almost 70 now, but grew up on a farm, dirt poor and for sure had to do with whatever we had. While I can't say I live that way now, we do live on a fixed income so I try to be aware of what I want versus what I need and I try to remember that at my age, I really don't need anything other than day to day stuff. I thought of my own life when you said the water went out and you jumped in to do what you had to do. My husband just today laughed because I fixed my "survival stuff" because the temperature is going to be REALLY low tonight. But hey...if our water does not freeze and my jugs of water aren't needed....my plants and my dog won't care that I stored that water in a jug...just in case. It's never a bad thing that we "don't sweat the small stuff". Your stories of strength and appreciation always makes my day. Stay safe and warm.....and joyful!!

Your work might be lost but we all have those memories in our minds forever. You are a survivor Tessie and this will pass. Better times around the corner. You do well with what you have. You may be low income but you are rich in so many other ways. There is always someone who are worse off than us. we all get discouraged at times but brighter days are ahead. Many prayers for you, dear Tessie! 2024 has truly gotten off to a rough start for you!
One of the hardest things is watching someone you love (like your daughter in this case) suffer, I always had the feeling that I would rather (10 times!) suffer whatever it was myself than have my loved one endure whatever the trial might be!
I hope the new computer has a nice easy "learning curve" and that it feels comfortable right away. At least your library of TH-cam videos still exists on the TH-cam site and you can always see them there, thank Goodness. They're not entirely gone forever!
May God be with you and Kenny as you rebuild your savings account! Sometimes when I (rarely) watch the news and see the people who have had their homes flattened, have no food, water or medicine, and have lost many of their nearest and dearest family and friends, I can only thank God that he has brought me this far, and -- Lord willing -- will bring me safely home.

My husband has brain 11:31 cancer and really can't help with anything around the property . I'm 75 uts old snd have my own issues. We don't have enough for today's costs. It's very depressing. I'm afraid of losing my home and can't afford rents. Life ls hard, not what we thought retired living would be like be .
Many prayers for you. You are truly n a very tough spot! I almost never "go political," but I will just say that we as a country could do a better job of caring for our aging citizens who gave a life time of labor to get this nation to where it is today. God be with you both.

Prayers for you both Jane. We are seeing so many go through some really difficult times in the past 3 years. I've been severely ill for 22 years and it's not getting easier with age. Yet, God has been faithful throughout and His grace IS sufficient. My faith continues to grow stronger and stronger. When I think I can't go on He gives me the strength I need to keep going. I pray you know God's love for you. (John 3: 16) "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
Out of great suffering came life for everyone who places their faith in Jesus. In Him there is PEACE, HOPE & JOY!
