Hi Tessie. And Good Morning from Sweden!;🇸🇪 Lets hope the snow disappear soon. Me, too, is eager to "put my fingers in the soil" and start the growing Season...It is so satisfying to see Things sprout and grow! And I have a little question for you.... When you talk about the "Garden", do you then mean a Kitchen/Vegetable Garden? This confuse me a little🙂🤗 Because, for me that is a professional Landscape Architect, your whole Property is a "Garden" and not just the area where you grow vegetables and such Things. . Anyway, I love watching your videos and to be Taught about the old days and the way of living then, (I am reslly learning a lot from them)!.So Thank You! 🤗💖🌱🙏🏻🇸🇪
You got a lot wealthier since I first started watching you, but then again I’m a lot wealthier too. I pay for everything cash and when I run out of money wait for when I get more. I live in an old suburb with a 1945 house. Small lot. I love it.
I now work two full time jobs and one part time job wealthier doesn't come naturally it's because of the work that is involved my life has totally changed since 7 years ago
My hubby lost his job and we had to sell our home we built. Looked into buying a trailer but they were so expensive. Instead we bought a shed and turned it into our home. I love it. We have 70 acres with my grown daughters and son in laws. We have all built homes on the land. my grandchildren love to explore and play outdoors.
I Am So Sorry That Your Husband Lost His Job Martha! However, It Sounds Like You Have Made A Great Move, To Be Able To Live With Your Family, Blessings, Andrea
In our mid 50's ,I have some major health issues that have prevented me from working well, I was watching your channel and showed my husband how you live. We moved 3 hours away from the city to a small town bought an older mobile home it has a roof over and has been protected from the elements for the most part. We are slowly repairing what needs it and I am starting my garden soon. Thank you for the inspiration to change even when your set in your ways. God Bless
I would take a newer one any day over an older mobile home. The new standards are exponentially better than the old ones. More energy efficient better windows thicker wood and metal construction . Siding and roof material are longer lasting and most importantly the new ones are made with better fire resistant material.
@@lovelife7343 --that's true. Standards have risen so high that many mobile homes are made even better than houses. That's one reason they cost so much more. They have to be able to withstand all sorts of wind levels and snow loads by law now. (I watch all sorts of mobile home sales videos here at YT.)
We pressure washed our deck & washed all the dark & green off & it looks new! It also keeps the deck from rotting & from slipping & falling! Blessings❣️❣️
Thanks Tessie for your homestead tour. I really enjoyed seeing your gem of a place. It's not what you have but rather what you do with what you have. I am 66 years old and at 65 I downsized to get out of debt. The move was very exhausting and the home was a gut remodel. I have been here 18 months and I have invested wisely in this place. I am setting out fruit bushes and trees this week and am praying for God to bless my plantings. The remodel is very slow...me, myself and I doing the work. But I just pray everyday for energy and strength to get things done. Am putting up a portable green house next week by myself. Trying to start perma gardening this year. It's a lot, but God will help you accomplish more than you ever thought possible. Staying out of debt is God's will for us all. I want to encourage others that he will help you, step out in faith!
I wanted to share with you an experience that I have had with keeping deer from eating my plants, I noticed they didn’t bother some of the plants, but did bother others of the same kind, the difference was gravel. So I put gravel around the plants being eaten, and the plants were no longer bothered, I was so surprised! I hope this helps you out too !
I’m finding land is so expensive now! Even if I wanted to own a mobile home. A place to park it is half the battle! Don’t forget to add elderberry and blue berries! You’re so blessed to have your own land and so big too!
Tessie, You and Ken have done an amazing job transforming your property and home into a beautiful place I can't wait to see what you are doing more :-) Love you my Sister :-) God Bless You and Ken :-)
Wow Tessie this was a total throwback! I’ve watched your channel for five years now and have seen the transformation that you’ve done! I’m so happy for y’all! You will absolutely love having a wood stove! We love ours! ❤
Mobile home living is what I founded my channel on and due to a experience on line I was somewhat apprehensive about doing these kind of videos but now I'm back fully there will be many mobile home videos coming on a regular basis
It's been a long time since you did a property tour. It's even more beautiful now. Every year you two make improvements and it shows how much yall really care about your home and the pride you take in it's upkeep.
We love our woodstove. Here in southeast Iowa, we can get some pretty cold winters. There is an expense to it though. My husband and I built a woodshed together last summer. It's wonderful! It's 10'x16' and we stack the wood to 1 foot from the rafters. It actually holds 1 1/2 to 2 years of wood. We have a log splitter and chain saws. The trees have been free for the taking. We have had a problem with Ash trees dying here in Iowa. Our home is a 1200 sq ft ranch so the medium sized woodstove does an amazing job of heating the house. March 2022 - March 2023 we only used 270 gallons of propane (our kitchen stove/oven, canning kitchen stove and our water heater also use propane)! We had our 1000-gallon propane tank topped off last March. I just checked our tank, and we are at 60% (still hasn't had any propane added since March of 2023!) We have our wood cut for next year (we always stay one year ahead on our wood, so it is plenty dry). I also keep a cast iron pot full of water on the top of our woodstove. We do not have to run a humidifier then. I also dry our clothes in front of it during the winter. I run a box fan to push the warm air down the hall to the bedrooms. Many meals have been cooked on the woodstove and bread is rising every week in front of it. I want to add an oven to the woodstove next! I grew up with a woodstove, so I know the different woods and how hot they burn. Be sure to buy a temperature gage to sit on the top of the woodstove. That will help keep you from overheating it and causing a chimney fire. Plus, pine creates a lot of creosote so stay away from it. So happy for you, my friend! You're going to love it!! So little house on the prairie!😉
What a wonderful homestead, Tessie! No wonder you love it so much. Such a perfect day to be filming, as well. Can't wait to see what happens in the Spring on Tessie's Hometead! Thanks so much for sharing.
Your property is beautiful. I live in a mobile too that is 56 years old also have my own property. You are right the older mobile homes are built a lot better. I just bought me a single wide mobile home that's about 7 years old, well established & in great condition. I mainly paid cash besides a small portion that I'll have paid off within two years. I'm like you being 60 years old, I don't want any debt whatsoever.
Hi Tessie! I used butterfly bushes and forsythia to make a privacy fence. It attracts birds, bees and I enjoy watching the birds making nests in them. The deer doesn’t bother them either. Thank you, Tessie. I did a search for the "Have More" Plan and found a free PDF available to download. It looks like a great book, can't wait to start reading it.
You should be proud of your beautiful home and all of your hard work. It is so picturesque and would sell immediately if you ever wanted to relocate. I look forward to all your videos and learn so much from you. I am 78 years young and continue to look for a older mobile home in Missouri. God Bless you and your husband.

Thanks Tessie for this video. I’m always wanting something different than what we have. I should be happy and content with what we have and improve the place we have right now. God bless you.
I am the exact same!!! I grew up in the country and have wanted to go back since I've been adult i can't afford it alone. I barely have any yard but have chickens and want a large garden. I hate living in town, which where am. I'm very NOT happy where I am and with what I have.
Thank you for the tour. I never realized how large your homestead really is. I know it came with hard work and hard times but you are so Blessed. How thrilling to realize how valuable your land and home has become after 13 years!
Beautiful tour, Tessie! You've done such a fabulous job on your property and home; the love and care is evident. I'm looking forward to seeing how you put this year's plan into action. Adding that book to my wish list; I want to make the most out of where we're living now and gather ideas for wherever the future might bring us.

Oh Tess...this is by far one of my favorite videos on your channel. This is the first complete look we have gotten of your beautiful huge property. You have alot to be proud of.Cant wait to see more.
This year our projects this year is raised beds for out garden. I found out really fast why they call east tennessee,"good Ole Rocky top". With the raised beds we can control the soil better. Also, rain barrels.. I love your hat and scarf. I am hoping to learn more about the herbal.medicine world
You have an amazing piece of property. You’re lucky to have gotten it. What you’ve done with it is amazing as well. You and your family won’t starve with that garden. What a vacation spot you’ve made the property into.
You’ve done wonders with your property. Fortunately you have a good chunk of land but I do want to assure others that you can always improve, no matter how little you have. Tessie has the gumption to get it all done but so can you! We all need to reassess our resources and see how much better we can use them in these very challenging times.
That’s what I did also Tessie, I live in a mobile home on .68 of a acre, my garden is 100 ft x 100 ft I also set my place up like the Robinsons, garden and chickens in back and fruit trees in the front. I raise my meat chickens in a 10’x28’ leanto that I put electrical into the building . I have a garden shed which I want to swap out with a green house for when I will have time to grow my veggie starts instead of buying them . My hubby has a 2 car garage and a man cave . Once I can buy the lot on each side of me I hope to have a 2 dwarf Nubian Nannie’s . Even though I have a 100 x 100 garden I still have room to expand but my job is 10-12 hr days and I cant handle a bigger one but hope when I retire I can increase it by 5 more raised beds to the 8 I have along with 48 mineral tubs and 30 grow bags. Anyone who says you can’t grow enough to sustain yourself … well 1. You grow up on trellis 2. You can and dehydrate what you can’t finish fresh every day, 3. Grow what you eat and a lot of it! I live in Texas so I grow 10 out of 12 months , have a lake a mile away to fish out of, and I raise my meat chickens , am I totally self reliant? No but the savings I create far out weighs and tired and sore I feel lol and it’s so rewarding. Plus I know what went into the food I put on my table. I would never had tried any of this had it not been for you Tessie sounding off against someone saying you can’t feed yourself on 1 acre and you showed all you was doing and I knew I could also.
We are retired & I prayed for a place for us....He opened the door for an older RV with 3 slides & a lot to put it on. We paid it all off. We have 2 outbuildings. One is my hubby's tool shed & the other had a rotting floor. It wasn't built correctly, so he had to remove the railroad ties & rebuild the floor & 2 walls. It took 5 years, but he now has his own man cave. I call it Bob's house. Does your hubby have his own mancave?❤❤❤
Thanks for sharing! We have about 24 milk jugs filled with water that we can use to flush the toilet in case we lose electricity. You never want to be without water. We also have lots of deer that enjoy eating our landscape.
Good Morning Tessie, Sisters, Brothers, and Friends, Wish you all a wonderful blessed Tuesday filled with Gods Joy and Happiness :-) Remember to pray for one another and for all around the world :-) God Bless You ! Love you all Keep smiling be safe :-)
Beautiful property. Really praying for a house of my own this year. I really feel like this could be the year God does it. I don’t know the how, but I don’t have to know that. Winters are very challenging in my camper. We are finally having some spring weather the last couple days, though we tend to toggle between winter and spring till May. I just love to improve land and make it usable and enjoyable. Especially when it can be done frugally.
More snow, Tessie? I'm trying not to envy you! I love snow and none has fallen here. This has been a fun overview of the history of your homestead development. Can't wait to see what you and you hubby do with it this year. Being able to truthfully say we love our homes, in spite of some things we don't have that are now in most houses, is a real blessing. Yesterday, my little grandson suddenly declared he would not ever want to move to Windsor or Buckingham Palace because our little home is better than a castle or palace. I am so happy that he is content😊.
Always enjoy your tours. Your hard work pays off. We are also working on our 100 year old property. Just ordered a rain barrel and hope this will help you as an affiliate.
7 months ago we had a fox with its babies that lives in the area and we were very concerned about our chickens so we gave them to our daughter for the meantime
Tessie I absolutely Love your place!!! I know you have put a lot of time, money and hard work!!! Thank you so much for the tour!!! I love that you planted in the front of your property too!!! I live in an apt. How I wish I owned a lil piece of heaven on earth!! ❤❤❤
I downzided when I moved to Florida. 13 rooms to 5. 3 car garage to carport. Big garden to containers. I love it. At 74 painting 5.5 acres was getting to be too much. I should have downsized earlier. I still grow much of what I need.
You all did a wonderful job on your home and property. I'm very thankful we have the apartment we have. We have 2 little garden plots and we can afford our bills. I'm still working on the place too with how I want for it to look. I have stuff-itis, lol. Lord bless you all. ❤

Missed you tonight. Hope all is well.❤
I love how much you maximize your entire property and make it self sufficient.
So lovely! You and your property!!have a beautiful day! We used to lived very near to where you are- Gift and Thrift was a favorite!!!!😊
I love your homestead💙🙏
Hey There P Ellis 🌻,

Thanks for sharing! We have about 24 milk jugs filled with water that we can use to flush the toilet in case we lose electricity. You never want to be without water. We also have lots of deer that enjoy eating our landscape.
Everything is beautiful. What a great journey you have been on/ and continue to do! Thanks for the share ❤
You're a gem Tessie.

Hope you & your Mom had a blessed day as well, Owen. Prayers 🙏💞🙏
Your property looks great!
Very nice tour of your property..plenty of space to grow 😊 enjoy yourself and all your useful space..god blesd
You have worked hard on your property to improve it and it looks great❤
Looks great Tessie.!
We live in a slightly higher elevation so we get lots of little snow squalls just recently had one again
Always enjoy your tours. Your hard work pays off. We are also working on our 100 year old property. Just ordered a rain barrel and hope this will help you as an affiliate.
I just love your homestead.
Tessie, I love your little homestead, inside and out. It’s peaceful and inviting. Loved the tour, thank you.
You have a beautiful property Tessie.
Love seeing the property tours. You and Kenny have done so well.
The property looks beautiful Tessie and Ken!❤🎉😊
Nice job
Your property is gorgeous! And I love that its all tidy and clean and so your homestead doesn't draw attention. What happened to the chickens?
7 months ago we had a fox with its babies that lives in the area and we were very concerned about our chickens so we gave them to our daughter for the meantime
Tessie I absolutely Love your place!!! I know you have put a lot of time, money and hard work!!! Thank you so much for the tour!!! I love that you planted in the front of your property too!!! I live in an apt. How I wish I owned a lil piece of heaven on earth!! ❤❤❤
Thank you so much !!
I downzided when I moved to Florida. 13 rooms to 5. 3 car garage to carport. Big garden to containers. I love it. At 74 painting 5.5 acres was getting to be too much. I should have downsized earlier. I still grow much of what I need.
You did well, you have a lovely homestead
Thank you for the tour. You guys are amazing!!!
You all did a wonderful job on your home and property. I'm very thankful we have the apartment we have. We have 2 little garden plots and we can afford our bills. I'm still working on the place too with how I want for it to look. I have stuff-itis, lol. Lord bless you all. ❤
😊❤️ haven’t watch a video in a while was nice watching me today👍
You are going to love wood heat. It's fun to cook on it too.
