for the dead pedal - its way easier to get the panel off if you remove the hood release handle. Super easy to do - its just a simple clip on the back that easily access with a small trim tool or flat head screw driver.
I'm hoping thats the case, and what I'm going to try first. I did order the tool on ebay that will be here in 2 months lol I called VW and it was $70...no thank you.
I think the reason the gas pedal doesn't clip on like intended is because these were designed for UK/European versions where the gas pedal is slightly different.
Im now selling my 2011 golf 1,6 tdi, and ive already bought a passat alltrack 2013 2,0tdi with dq250 dsg. Im hoping to get some use for the towing hook, and the awd is just nice especially if im gonna go camping with the car, I wanna use the trunk/rear seat space and sleep in it, seems like really fun adventure too do with someone! Ofc the passat has higher ground clearance but it still feels sporiter, most likely due too also stiffer suspension or something and wider wheel base.
Hello, do you think that it would be possible to do the last step (acceleration pedal) also on its place, without disconnesting and removing it from car?
Your gas pedal is round too like mine. And thats problem if the alu isnt round? Just one half is round. I was search this and only 2.0 tdi has full round gaspedal. Can you answer to me?
@@AJLoDato22 hi any advice on which clips to use. I got some off amazon but they are rubbish they didnt even come close to snipping the overlapping bits off that you showed on the video. Thanks in advance!
Bro, when you unplug the accelerator, can you just plug it back in and everything works still the same? Or do you have to program the accelerator again? If you get what I mean..
Ya the foot rest one for the 2014 Tiguan it isn't worth the fighting with cause u have to take ur hood lever off an then try to not brake ur clips honestly I watched a video on it I cant understand how to get the lever off even they there's a clip but I can't really find it
Forgive me for saying this but you should have done some research before doing this video! I'm afraid there are two parts where you really go like an amateur: 1st is grabbing that plastic on the left, and passing front boot handle through it. I wonder how, if ever you put it back?! It's quite easy to remove the handle, then remove a small plastic screw and remove the plastic. Second thing: is the removal of the throttle pedal. You surely can grab it and force it out, but I'm sure your pedal will now... move a little. With a little research, again, you should be able to remove the throttle pedal EASILY with the use of to small flathead screwdrivers. Not by... brute force! Sorry, again, but this video is not helpful at ALL.

Thanks for the insight 🤙🏼
Nice. From the look of it you don't even need to remove the gas pedal, just glue the cover on and use zip ties or duct tape till it sets.

Shoot, you could be right. Definitely not made for this gas pedal that’s for sure.

That’s awesome. Sounds like a good rig for what you’re trying to do with it. And the 2.0tdi is bullet proof.
For the foot rest you don‘t need to remove the panel. Just pull it back with one hand and have a friend unscrew the screw
Hey thanks this will add to my GTD conversion
Good mod for sure! And the clean install with epoxy! Is just fine! It's the way we have to do. Thank you!
.... looks so much better, AMAZING!!!!!
the best video bro really
I appreciate it!!
I was about to do this for mine but the install just looked too much for me 😂
Haha it really wasn’t too bad. It would have went smoother if I had a video that showed me all of the kinks like this does. Probably 30min total.
Looks good. Good job
How are the pedals holding up so far? Just ordered a set for my 12' Jetta Sportwagen
They held up perfect. I sold the car about three months after install. 10/10 recommend.
Hello, do you think that it would be possible to do the last step (acceleration pedal) also on its place, without disconnesting and removing it from car?
Yes most definitely. It’ll be harder, but definitely do-able.
I just got the same set from temu i will be installing it soon how does it feel on the feet please let me know 😊
It feels much better than stock - but I was in it for the looks. Love it!
@@AJLoDato22 awesome man good to hear Yeah it looks great as wel thanks for the quick reply 💪
I'm trying to do it with a tiguan similar though
Thank kind sir. But you think getting a pedal from a r line or gti bolt right up with out any issues?
Yup I think that would work, too.

I didn’t have any issues with the round top on the pedal. I believe the squared off corner just overhung a little bit. Hope this helps!
Hey great video. Im in the same situation, i want to try stick the accelerator down+trim the metal edges off. What tool/adhesive would i need?
I used metal snips to clip the tabs off. And JB Weld clearweld for the adhesive

You didn't need too remove the pedal, just glue it over the top

I just plugged mine back in and had no issues!

is this golf a 2.0 tdi
That’s correct
Anyone know where i can get those snips from in the UK, ive had a couple off amazon+neither of them worked 🤦🏼♂️
Ebay
Hi, what's the glue you have used ?
Thanks
It’s a JB Weld ‘KwikWeld’ I believe.
@@AJLoDato22 okay thanks, how long did it take to hold/dry ?
The glue is transparent ? Because i have found it but it's A and B glue which is gray !
Shoot scratch that I think I used ‘clear weld’. Mine was clear and took about 10min to fully cure to where I felt comfortable taking the c clamps off.
@@AJLoDato22 okay great ! thanks for helping me

Appreciate your thoughts
Bro how tf you get off the Plastik in the legt
It was super hard honestly. I heard you can take the hood release handle off to make it easier.
Bro really skipped the most important part
What’s that
