    I love Curlsmith so much. I did not set out to have almost exclusively curlsmith in my routine, but after so much trial and error, all but my finishing oil and leave-in conditioner is curlsmith. I also LOVE the effortless wave spray. Perfect for some beachy waves for summer

    I've been in love with the bouncy strength volume foam. I know you are doing these simple routines with only 3 products, I suggest combing that with the wave spray. Something about layering that with a softer hold product on top really seems to give me nice results even if they are looser than harder hold gels. It's great for lightweight summer styling and gives me more volume. I appreciate seeing this styler used on its own. I will keep it on my list for when I use up some of my other products.

    Your hair looks gorgeous! I would live to try the effortless waves gel BUT I really dont like the scent of the mousture line! 😭 I like the scents of their other lines, but have recently switched to the shine line as my main shampoo, conditioner, and gel because sometimes the strong scents so close to my nose overwhelm my senses. You are right about the shine gel... that hold is solid! 😆

    Court! You got your mermaid waves with this washday! Looks sooooo great! I think if I had shorter hair I would have had better luck with this product. I'm also not a fan of spray gels - I can never tell where I'm spraying and then end up with uneven application.

    My go to for the summer is AG's Beach Bomb. It works really well if I diffuse or air dry. It has the perfect level of grit to enhance my waves but my hair still feels like hair.

    I gave in and bought Effortless Waves after seeing this video and noticing it was on sale for Prime Day. I was skeptical at first because I wasn't very impressed by the results in the Curlsmith videos, but your wet styling techniques make all the difference, I think. I've used it twice now on wash days and on several refreshes, and I'm really pleased with the results. My hair feels really light (like I don't have anything in my hair) but still defined. I have to use tiny amounts of product to avoid weighing my hair down, so the first time I don't think I used enough because I had quite a bit of frizz at the top of my head when I defused. I actually had better results the next few days when I refreshed by wetting my hair down with a spray bottle, spraying in some Effortless Waves, scrunching, defusing just a few minutes to set, and air drying the rest of the way. I just washed my hair again today and was much more generous with the Effortless Waves on soaking wet hair, and I'm super impressed... It's crazy hot here so I didn't even bother to defuse, and I have soft defined waves with no frizz! I got a slight cast (but I can get casts even just with curl creams sometimes, so that doesn't surprise me), but it scrunched out very easily. This may be my new go-to summer routine when I have no energy to do my hair!

I ordered Effortless Waves and one of the new hairsprays during the Ulta sale and can't wait for them to arrive so that I can try them out.

    I just ordered these products last week and can't wait to try them! They were recommended to me by a salesperson at Ulta. At the time, I didn't have the money to purchase them but once paid I purchased from their website. I have type 2C hair and lately it's been looking a bit frizzy. And I never get the good day 2 hair and have to rewet and restyle. I'm so hoping these products help me with my hair. Your hair is so beautiful and what I would like to see my hair do. You say you sleep with your hair in a pineapple. Do you also wear a silk cap? How do you diffuse your hair (upside down or ?)? I'm fairly new to the curly hair look, have been straightening my hair most of my life so lots of questions.

I wish CS stylers and/or leave-ins had heat protection so I didn't have to use a separate product. I do have and enjoy their Miracle Shield.

    Thank you, Courtney, for your informative videos! Thanks to your old videos on moisture and protein balance, I just realized my hair is not as healthy and low porosity as I expected. Washing my hair with Dr. Bronner's liquid castille soap weekly for a decade and recently starting CGM with almost daily wetting of my hair is apparently damaging my hair and causing over moisturization (if not hygral fatigue) that is making my wet waves dry straight! I didn't know the pH matters and Dr. B is 9!
    I recently ordered some protein products from Curlsmith, including the conditioner you used here, to address this problem and I am hoping for the best.
    I am still on the hunt for a good clarifying shampoo as I am allergic to apples and therefore aple cider vinegar, and can't use this Curlsmith one. Tips welcome!

    I’m going to have to try this new spray as a base product with the hydrogel on top. My hair is denser and coarser than yours but I think it may work. I’m finding more liquid or thin moisturizing base products give me better moisture retention and less frizz. I bet this will make a good refresh product too.

  • @melly0_1985
    @melly0_1985 ปีที่แล้ว

    Oh I now need to try that wave spray! I have been eyeing it! But CS products are so hit and miss for me. Weighing?
    I did a search of your channel, but do not see much for Curl Keeper. I see you show the Original Styler in a show down with other custards, enhancers, and low hold gels 2 years ago, but no one brand wash day. It’s one brand I want to try, but need you to do it first on your current length of hair (if possible and your allergies aren’t bad to it lol!) 😂❤

    Update: I did try it and I’m returning it. It really just behaved like a spray gel for me. I tried it on soaking hair, damp hair, and hair in between. I tried a little, I tried a lot. Either way I still got a cast that needed to be scrunched out! It did not hold up to southern humidity so if I walked outside even for 30 min it looked like my hair was trying to escape my head (and yes that’s even with a leave-in conditioner underneath the spray). And because it behaved like a gel for me, it was not super easy to brush out when humidity ruined my hair. Also, people report loving the smell but I thought there was a really weird element to it that I didn’t like and it took TWO shampoos over multiple days to completely get the smell out. So I’ll have to keep looking.
    I’ve been wondering about this one so I appreciate this video especially! I’m one that suffers from stringy curls when scrunching in gel. Plus gel is just not holding up to this southern summer! So I’ve been looking for something that is just easier and would even be soft enough to allow me to brush my hair if I needed to. Really wanting to try this one now!

      @@luciem4562 I’ve tried all the wetness levels 😛 Most gels give me a flash drying kind of feel no matter how wet or how much or little leave in or cream i use. I want something that’ll maintain that juicy slip even when scrunching in the product! Hoping this does it

    • @luciem4562
      @luciem4562 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@surrendertoflow78 Yeah, it’s so frustrating to put so much effort into styling just to have it come out stringy. Yesterday I tried using a leave in conditioner for the first time and as soon as I applied it the wet frizz went away and the hair clumped into bigger wave families. I used the Curlsmith weightless air dry cream.

    This shampoo was kind of "too" clarifying for me 0.0
    Genuinely, I have used clarifying shampoos with sulfates that felt less stripping than this one.
    Definitely not a bad thing to have on hand for a complete reset, but I was not ready for how dry and frizzy my hair was afterwards.

    I'm in survival mode. Kids are all grown and have flown, but working 70+ hours a week is leaving me having to reprioritize self care.

      @NintenJon2023 Thank you. The trials of running your own business. When staff turns over, you have to cover the position until you find a replacement. Hopefully we will find someone who works put soon.

    Are you all right? The part of your scalp by your hairline looks very red. I’m concerned. 😮😢

    I LOVE Curlsmith for my wavy/curly, fine, low desity hair, the Curlsmith Post wash calming conditioner is the only rinse out conditioner I have ever tryed that don't weigh my hair down. I want to try the Effortless waves next, and mabye I should try the Multi taking conditioner as a Deep conditioner/mask once in a while 👍🏻
