Don’t listen to the people mad that you aren’t focusing all your attention solely on DRG, what you’ve shown here is awesome! I love the overall change in atmosphere, the art direction is fantastic, I noticed the game seems to have dynamic music, the enemy AI seems way more involved and tactical, both arm abilities showed off are SICK and have so much gameplay potential. Needless to say, when closed testing begins… I want in! Rock and Stone you awesome devs!
a mod could have done what they showed, and for a new game with a new price, all the money they made funneled into something not asked for. encourage them to waste another year of our time.
I think some people are (maybe a little too aggressively) worried that with all these projects, DRG might get less updates or less attention from the devs. Not saying I agree with them, just pointing out a possibility as to why they're acting like this.
I like the idea but I don't think they need one, in Deep rock we are on a rig with multiple employes but in Rogue core we are likely on a small ship in a crew of (technicaly) 4 elite dwarves (combat brothers) who probably have known each others for a long time maybe they've lost friends in other reclaiming missions but I wouldn't be surprised if not, after all we are the elite for of the company so what could possibly go wrong🙃
I've seen people complaining about drg being in a "paused states" in terms of updates. But seriously, guys, drg is a complete and content packaged game already. We've been getting free updates all these years. I think it's fair to say Ghost Ship Games deserves a break from base drg and explore new horizons with rogue core and other projects they have in mind. I know we won't get new updates in a relatively long time but that won't stop me from playing drg at least 3 times a week. We should support them and trust their creative ambition about their new projects. Also, I'm excited to play dark swarm, looks terrific!!! GSG if you're reading this, congratulations on your hard work, keep working with your artistic vision and creative freedom in hand!!! For Rock and Stone!!!!
I agree, as crude as it sounds, some people just need to play different games. Deep Rock is great but I would be concerned if someone were able to play DRG every day for a year straight. No one does that with any game lol
That and honestly, compared to last year we are at a much better position to wait for upcoming updates, Season 5 is, IMO, the best one so far, so waiting until next year for another season sounds much more manageable than having to put up with more Rockpox
As long as drg isn’t forgotten about, longer time between seasons (as long as they’re finished and have a solid chunk of content) is a great path forward
That low ceiling space in the office can be a chill out space for people to decompress. It's secluded and you could fill it with beanbags, pillows, plushies, blankets and play some chill music. A good place to promote employee wellness.
1:35:25 This could result in _”1 class per run”_ team comps - a criticism of other 4 player co-op games on the market. If only 1 of each traversal tool is available, this could result in less flexibility than DRG currently provides.

With all the information that got me really excited I want to adress one thing that in my opinion wasn't appreciated enough yet: With the Guntouchables looking like a wacky, fun little game the soundtrack has no right to be such an absolute banger. You guys know how to create excitement at levels I would never have expected from a roadmap stream. Love your work and how authentic (I can't think of a better word) all of you seem while presenting it. One can easily see how much you care about what you are doing. If you'll excuse me, I have to wishlist some totally unrelated stuff on steam now *scuffles away in happiness*
I’ve seen some people worried about the 4th player being “screwed” and late joiners getting “trash loot”, but GSG has to have already taken this into consideration if they’re making the game that works like this. Maybe there is a compromise in the works, or maybe the more popular upgrades will be more common than non-popular ones, or maybe each upgrade will be balanced based on the amount of picks it has? There are so, so many ways to make late joiners or the players who pick last still get beneficial upgrades, so I wouldn’t worry. (I do wish that players could pick the same upgrade option though, ngl.)
I think the problem Rogue Core will have with its upgrade model (with "Friction Points" as a design mantra) is newer players will not always understand what the best upgrade for them will be and/or the best upgrade for other teammates instead of themselves, especially with randoms and no voice chat. It seems like it's going to be too frictional to work well. I think major upgrades probably need to also have individual choices to start, and then the unpicked options should be then divided amongst the team by round robin choosing.
I was wondering how were they going to figure that out. In Deep rock everything feels so smooth, and cooperation never feels like hindering your own Gameplay. So im not sure how are they gonna adress the coop aspect of the game. They didnt mention much about It but I trust they Will find a way, since Deep rock IS so polished in that aspect.
I absolutely despise the idea that I might find a gun thats my favorite one to use and that I know I can use reliably at high level play, and someone else wants it and that then makes me perform worse or possibly be a liability. I believe every person should have their own random small loot pool and then their extra stuff can be up for grabs by other players once they lock in the items they want from their own loot pool. People not getting the gun they want will encourage some to quit and requeue into another game or just play solo.
I was thiking while watching, might be cool to have you click on an item, and instead of just hearting it because you want it, you can select the player that you think would benefit from it the most. So if someone's obvioulsy going for a specific build and 3 people select them as the person who should have the upgrade, it'll give you some insight as a new player that you maybe shouldn't take it. Or if you take it for yourself, your team will know what kind of a person you are and maybe not give you what you want when they're choosing first. The thing about DRG that was so good was being able to communicate with your team without ever speaking on the mic. I know it's early days, but if anyone can figure out how to do it best it's these guys.

Just an idea I was thinking of randomly to mix things up. What if sometimes a random mining facility says something about its creator other than that it was a dwarf? Maybe that particular facility was made by someone with a familiar skill set? Perhaps a driller foreman wanted to make use of more drills than other tech, and so there are areas that indicate heavy drill usage? Or rappelling/lift equipment and good lighting for scouts. Defunct or working automated turrets and lasers for engineers or gunner foreman’s? It’s not a unique idea I’m sure, but i thought I’d send that thought your way. I think it’d be cool for mixing up the seed generation on rare occasions.
