Vaishali, Thanx for such an informative Video on the Kolkata Rajdhani Express. I clicked & chose to see it because I've myself loved travelling on our Indian Railways right since my childhood, & as you mentioned & very rightly so, it does tickle us to the point that it brings out the child in each one of us (Train-Lovers in general) ... watching it brought back nostalgic memories of my own. Congrats for such a wonderful & detail presentation in your casual-style, & for touching upon on all the small & nitty-gritty matters associated with Indian Train-Travel.
I watched all your attention to detail in your entire Video, however I was left a bit perplexed when I noticed (between 18:53-19:07, 24:30-24:44 & 25:00-25:18) that you eat using the "Knife & Fork" in a fashion that's opposite to 🍴 the widely followed usual International convention (Left-Hand: Fork & Right-Hand: Knife 🍽). Perhaps, it might just be that your dominant-hand is your left-hand or maybe you're just habituated by convenience. Enjoyed all the narrations & explanations & attention to detail on the entire journey ... your Video is a boon for all the Travel-Lovers ... Keep it up. Beautiful video brought back the old memories. I vividly remembered as a 12 years old travelled with my father from Bangkok to Calcutta and would taked the newly introduced A.c Rajdhani express from Howarah to New delhi from 1968 till 1972 . Watching the video the snacks beverages and food quantities seem to be served less nowadays than those days. The service servers in Rajdhani would dressed in white kurtas suit and dressed pants and would wearing head small pagris just like in the old hindi movies.

Nice to see you indeed, very comprehensive review of indian train journey, really its fantastic, by the way late me tell you that 1992 I was visited india , having train journey experience in Chatak express train from old Delhi railway station towards to udaipur city , woooow I cant describe in words my traveling experience in the idian train it is really amazing fantastic. Hello mam this is Pushpal Ganguly from Kolkata i was getting emotional after watching your videos . Since it refresh all my old memories with this train 2301 Up Howrah New Delhi Rajdhani where i boarded atleast 3 times on my childhood days when I was in early school days in class IV and Class VI . That time my Bari bua and didi used to stay in New Delhi Janakpuri area it was on late 90s am talking abt . Now they all settled in kolkata highland Park near Peerless Hospital. In Delhi i can recollect mam Golgappa was very famous as evening snacks the size was awesome . And we also enjoyed 6 foot dosa at Lodhi Hotel New Delhi that was indeed life time child hood experience will never forget. Then from Delhi we went to Agra by road with my Bua , uncle and my didi ( Bua's daughter) . All those memories came alive again but want to tell you mam Rajdhani did lots of modification in their interior designs I can tell you that after watching your video . Those time interior cabins was not like this . Doors were not there just had curtains dividing all cabins & lots of other improvements they did a lot . Thanks For this wonderful video .
I also traveled in Howrah rajdhani via Gaya , after prasanath railway station our train passes through tunnels and we can see very beautiful mountain views also.

But madam Rajdhani is not the first AC train. It was the Deluxe express. Deluxe expresses were the predecessors to the Rajdhani.

Madam, please note that Indian Railways have operated Trains with Bogies designed and fit to travel @ 160 - one hundred and sixty kilometres per hour as long back as in 1976. This fact was mentioned on both rear ends of all bogies. I am now a senior citizen and happy to place on record that I have traveled in Tamil Nadu Express on 23-8-1977 from New Delhi to Vijayawada (1762 kms) in flat 23 hours with just three halts - Jhansi, Bhopal, Nagpur plus two technical halts at Amla and Balharsha. Now (after 44 years) IR says that they are operating some major trains with a maximum speed of 160 kms. Please judge where we stand. During that time the rail tracks were fitted with steel sleepers and hauled by Diesel engines.

And that too in 1st class Ac...makes it more exclusive isn’t it. It is said Always on time, fastest ever, best comfort and best facility. That’s the reason why charges are also pocket burning. But what if all the above legacy starts reducing it’s nature of conduct. I experienced very feeble food when it comes to continental or Indian, I believe reason is caterers or poor monitoring system, if we won’t maintain the legacy of this train journey it will lose it’s gravity. Secondly as you saw in the vlog how shower room was occupied with, it doesn’t matter if passengers use it or not but it is part of your facility, you can’t use it as store room. Eating tables are never in sink one small one big. Since I love Rajdhani I travel in.One should maintain it. And except cutlery caterers did poor job. I asked for cold milk, they said,heated all so can’t give , so Divyabh avoided having as we didn’t want to fight but wanted to show the real thing. So this is kind request to railways,please maintain certain standard as this is going to spoil the image of railways in general and Rajdhani in particular.
