  • I go to visit Machekie, a fascinating Konso village in Southern Ethiopia. In this village, the people mummify their chief, and they live with the mummy during 9 years, 9 months, 9 days, 9 hours, 9 minutes and 9 seconds, when they finally bury the chief.

    I see how Africans are so welcoming to foreigners, I cant imagine an African receiving such warmth out of Africa. If roles were reversed, it would be another story😢

      Maybe not in western societies but there are still villages across the globe that would treat them just as warmly. But definitely it’s sad how Africans and rural people are looked down upon by people who view themselves as first world citizens

    Those shoes/sandals from the car and truck tires we call them shwiasi atare in the Akan language (twi) its very very strong. I suggest they should make ankle boots and cushion the insides of them/the shoes for hiking and mountain climbing and rough terrain type climbing or for farming.

    I liked the solo video of Yves more but honestly after the ambush it is much more safer with a guide. And the latest videos are not bad I like them also. The guide, I don't know his name, looks and behaviores very seriously and friendly. Also he has much knowledge of the area and it is very interesting what he shows to Yves. You don't have the feeling that he is doing only for financial reason. I compare this video with the tribal video and it is totally more realistic. The tribal was only a place where they want money. It was a really bad place. Here it is totally different. Yves stay saftey and you are doing a great job

      It is not ethiopians who want to fight each other. So many interrests from outside world cause conflicts and starvation in Ethiopia. What do you think the weapons are coming from?

    • @Sharkdanceteacher
      @Sharkdanceteacher 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Flower-ck2bs Ethiopians have been fighting each other for thousands of years, they hate each other, blame each other for Ethiopian problems & the outside forces causing divisions are Ethiopians also , as far as weapons, not hard to find, everyone is willing to sell them on the black market, current Ethiopian government used Russian, Chinese, Turkish weapons to slaughter Tigrinians & now Amharans.
      Tigrinians & Amharans hate each other so much they don't realize they need to unite against Abiy before its too late

    Growing up.. through my secondary school years.. (teen years into early 20s) I used "war-lutoka" (old-tyre sandals) all the time.. excellent.. comfortable.. affordable.. and very durable [tropical] foot wear.. real value for money..
    Absolutely vital reuse processes.. meaning essential protection of the environment.. [against thoughtless.. inconsiderate.. disgusting.. excessive plastic dumpings]..
    Thank you so much for sharing..
    Good health for always.. to all involved on the ground...
    [Very humble and respectful suggestion..
    The collective (all involved) can organise themselves to make sure every unusable bit and pieces (and other rubbish) are carefully collected and stored/put away safely without contaminating/polluting the surrounding land.. keeping their workplace absolutely neat.. tidy.. and very clean..]

      @@nursemaggie2321 It has nothing to do with hair or lighter skin. @12:51 proves it. It is just genetics and culture mix of that region (Eritrea included) and imperial mentality of the people that impressed me. I worked with many Africans from different parts of Africa (not USA), and this was my personal opinion - others may think different. On the other hand, I noticed Ethiopian men are not so popular as south-eastern Africans with women, but that's for another story.
