  • Today we see the narrative of the early church continue. In this chapter we see people using rags that have touched Paul as tools of healing, bringing miracles. Wild stuff.

How can a handkerchief, an object, or a tool bring about healing in the name of Jesus?
I was told by my pastor that there is only One Mediator between Christians and God
, and HE is the Lord Jesus Christ, and only the Lord Jesus Christ alone can heal, and we should go directly to him, with none in between.
What would you say about that?

It feels like I am needing to pray for someone who’s got cerebral palsy. This is not a very nice thing that’s happened from birth for this young man wheelchair-bound, speaking slurred constantly fighting his body. He said to me in a session that he didn’t wanna be in the wheelchair. He is he’s not a person of faith that I can tell. God has asked me to pray for healing for this guy. I don’t understand how why this happens. I am now getting a picture of him being healed at work getting out of his chair and then what I would do in that in moment. It is a challenge as I don’t know how it works but God does. I suppose for me right now I just need to keep praying for him.

    Hello,
I have been reading acts each day with these videos, and today a Christian TH-camr I watch said that she was healed by God after visiting a man who has a Bible that leaks oil. She had some of the oil and said that Jesus had healed her after that day. I thought about if I should believe it and I was torn. (Still am) but then I came on to this video and this was my message for today... I know God is saying something about this but I don’t know what. It is not a coincidence, as I don’t believe in those, but I’m not sure if it just means that miracles can still happen today, or if that Bible is truly leaking oil.. what do you think? I don’t want to be gullible, but also I don’t want to deny God’s power. Have you heard of this, and if so, what are your thoughts. Thank you.

Hello Holly. Great question. It's really hard to say what is of God and what is fake. We tend to leave those questions for the leaders of the church where this stuff is happening. If a person isn't part of a church family with faithful leaders that is an initial warning. Really though, when it comes to healing there is nothing magical. No magical oil or magical water, etc. God's spirit still works today in the form of miracles, it just doesn't happen all the time. Our job as children of God is to trust that the father's heart toward us in good and that he has us in his hands. We should ask for healing, we should have others pray for us as well, but ultimately it's up to God how He chooses to move. Anyway, all that to say...don't worry too much about others, God will judge them if they are fake. Just seek Him like a child asking a parent for his needs. We don't always understand the answer (just like any child) bit we learn to trust the father's heart toward us. Does that help?

Branch Together thank you for taking the time to respond! I of course felt skeptical about this supposed Bible leaking oil, but I didn’t know if it was against scripture for something like that to exist today. Thanks again for your answer, it helps.

@@holly3071 Miracles are only wrought by faith. The Bible makes it clear that faith and miracles go together. Many things Jesus and the apostles did, our natural minds don't understand. When Elisha told Naaman, to dip in the dirty river Jordan seven times to natural understanding we can't why God does what He does. Jesus did spat in the ground and after the blind man received the spittle and mud on his eyes, he washed at the pool of Silom and was healed. Even today I have seen miracles wrought, can I explain with my natural understanding? no. I know God works in mysterious ways.
In my own life I have seen God did wonders in my life and yes to my understranding I can't fathom. But I know God did something in my life.

Last Saturday I was fortunate enough to venerate the relics of both the Venerable Saint Bede and Saint Cuthbert, both titans of the Christian faith in both the British isles and in the Orthodox Catholic faith at large.
    Our Lady, pray for us.
    Saint Paul, pray for us.
    Saint Bede pray for us.
    Saint Cuthbert, pray for us.

@@OikPoinFive If you think Christians "worship" Mary you know nothing about Christianity. We worship the Triune God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost and we venerate Mary because she is the Mother of God. Veneration is very different to worship. Become a real Christian by being part of the Church God instituted and not some new 500 year old heresy. And don't be a papist...but that goes without saying.
