I just read this chapter of Acts for the first time tonight and got a bit mixed up when trying to study it in my Bible’s translation.. Thanks to your explaining this story In layman’s terms, I now understand. It’s so fascinating the way God works, I like that you said “Paul could’ve said anything” like ‘behold the result of being uninterested in God’s truth’ or ‘God does not pity those who fall asleep to His word’. BUT like the genuine Christian Paul is, he says that there is STILL life in him after being presumed dead. The deeper meanings behind these stories will always amaze me.. thanks again from a Bible study beginner! Bless you and your dedicated ministry!! 🙏🏼
Wonderfully explained.I read the scripture regularly but never understood it so well, until I started reading with Branch Together ....God bless you all..love from Goa .India
Paul is not God but Paul wrapping his arms around Eutychus resembles God’s great love for us. Even though we fell away from God and on our way to death and destruction, God meets us where we are and sees life when all we see is death. He sees revival when we see hopelessness.
Good Morning Pastor Jared''Thank you, for a wonderful meal..this morning, and yes''not so much of being board..but i know there's alot of life in it..i will press on..with the Lord blessing..my marrage, after 24years will get better..thank you..Bt. ministry
I have been told not to come back to the different churches because I asked questions about the Father and Yeshua. I believe that the laws of the Father are still to be honored today and kept as Christ said to do. Today, I have no church to belong to. Three churches in the USA and one in Australia that I am not allowed to enter. What a shame that is.
No one has ever held me and told me everything was going to be OK so no I don't understand what you mean by that. I always have to confine in Jesus but he never hugs me or talks to me. I do have faith in my savior but I'm alone in this world. Even other Christians reject me...
Hmmmm... In my KJV Bible study, we weren't taught that the young man was bored to death. This is the first I've heard of this. We were taught that since there were so many lights in the upper room burning for so long, that the young boy most likely went and sat next to the window close to some fresh air, as if the fumes from all the oil burning lamps made him lightheaded. Acts 20:8 states, "there were many lights in the upper chamber". Perhaps, the fumes from the many lamps made him become woozy at his young age and then he fell out of the window? I know when we go camping, the fumes from just two lanterns and our Weber makes me dizzy and get headaches; granted it's not the same type of oil that was used in the New Testament days, but kind of makes sense to me that this could have been the case and that he wasn't really 'bored to death' as you state. From previous lessons in Acts, we know that Paul’s messages often turned out to be long ones. They often lengthened into the night, but this one happens to mention that it went even unto midnight. From past lessons, often times they just did not want to let Paul leave, having a lot of time spent in teaching the newcomers the doctrine of Christianity, and needing to share that they might gain strength from each other. Eutychus means good fortune, so I'm seeing that he was fortunate enough to not only stay up past his bedtime to hang with the apostles, but also to learn all about the doctrines of Christianity. Regardless, I do believe his death and being restored was to glorify God.
What a powerful declaration. Lord give us eyes to see life in people and things we perceive are dead!

I wonder, why did you change the order of the verses to change the context?
