Came back? It never left for black people. I've seen this style growing up my whole life in the Bronx, queens and Brooklyn. I can't think of a time when I could walk through the city and not see at least one or two people with finger waves. This isn't new, it's just new to you. It's the new avocado.

It’s not offensive and like someone else said this isn’t a style for every hair texture. Once it dries it has to set and the more product used the less nice they’ll come out.
