This actually seems a lot simpler than the way they're trying to teach us at my school.
Yeah! Do you also do it on wet hair?
have you mastered it yet?
They were making us do it on straight hair, with wet, diluted gel. Now that I’m watching this, I’m starting to think maybe it wasn’t me that sucked at doing them... but the way I was being taught to do them sucked.
Same for the school I went to. Wet, straight mannequin hair, that is hard to do things on in the first place, with some setting lotion and a comb. I've seen many videos using various types of wave clips to make the actual wave shape. No way they would have let us use those. I am glad to finally see a video where the finger waves are being made using FINGERS. I think this is much nicer method than I was taught.
Yeah, but time wasting hairstyle
The amount of time those women spent on themselves 😱 here i am lucky to brush my hair everyday
Haha! We could style hair all day long - and luckily that’s what we get to do!
Chica 95 Most of the time, women would go to barbers or salons to get their hair done because it was too much work
We can but dream
@@awesomeale407 They didn't go everyday for this though. They did spend a chunk of their mornings doing self care, it was important to do that until the 1960s.
I mean, If you think about it, they had a lot of time on their hands because unfortunately they couldn’t do much outside of the home. There’s only so much housework to be done.
Finally a proper tutorial on finger wave. Brilliant
thankyou !
You have the most relaxing voice! Would you consider reading out loud classic literature or poetry? I would definitely "watch" (listen) to those videos!!!!
We’ve never thought about that before …we’ll definitely think about it!!
I’m getting an unintentional ASMR vibe here as well as a tutorial. Two for the price of one. Thanks!
👍

this was really helpful, thankyou....and your calm energy came right through
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it, hope you can join me for tonight’s live tutorial 😊
Beautiful hairstyle
Thank you!
This was still part of the exam when I went to school. Her execution is perfect, but one thing though: I think the hair is not wet enough. Hair only holds it's shape when wave is done in wet hair and then left to dry.
Thanks for getting in touch, finger waves in wet hair definitely work beautifully- it just takes a bit more time!! Lovely to hear from you!
Neat. I’m gonna try putting the clips on first before combing back the other side. I’m getting finger cramps just imagining doing it your way. I’ll let u know how it goes 😆
good luck - I'm sure it will work :))
So pretty style, great teaching vid. If only i wasnt affraid of heat tools, but alas...heatless curls are the only way
HI Rachel, you can definitely create this style without using heat tools - you can create waves on damp hair using a little bit of gel to help the waves to hold, but use the same waving techniques with your comb and fingers - then just let the hair dry - good luck!
Is this a Asmr video !!!? I adding this to my Asmr her voice is top 10
Not officially - but we do have lost of asmr fans that watch our videos!

I have thick curly hair that I get straightened. I think I would just put my hair in small rollers and sleep on them and I know that when I wake up I would have curl that I could brush into a Marcelle wave.
Tq so much for showing us this finger waves tutorial... 😘😘😘
Thanks for the videos keep up the good work I’m starting to learn how to do women’s grooming recently and your videos helps me a lot in hair school

@@createbeautifulhair6642 Thank you so much for letting me know. I just found you and subscribed. I will look for you on Wednesdays. I have been binge watching your videos and I love them.
@@CindyLejeune Fantastic Cindy! Thanks for subscribing - just let me know if you have any particular styles you would like to learn :)
@@createbeautifulhair6642 I will do that. I have been thinking that I would love to see some hairstyles that would look good in hot weather. I live in Florida it is hot and humid here most of the time I do have AC every where I go but we have a lot of get togethers (well not right now but before this covid we did) I like looking like a lady put together. I don't like the thrown together with a messy bun look . Do you have any ideas for something that can hold up to heat and humidity ? I don't mind taking the time to put the look together. The finger wave video was great so now I am wearing that one for sure I have never seen anyone do it the way you did it was perfect so much easier than I have done it in the past made me go back to it. I never thought about only doing the top and smoothing out the sides like you did it is saving so much time and still looks just as beautiful. You are so talented! I am looking forward to seeing more of your videos.
@@CindyLejeune Hi Cindy, I'l get together some styles that work well in hot weather!
Folks the 20s are here again, lets bring it back
I agree!!
This is such a fabulous tutorial !
This is really helpful! I will use this.
Best tutorial! Thank you)
😊 Thank you
Very clear instruction. Thanks!
Brilliant. I should've known that the hairstyle I've coveted my whole life would be straight-up fluff--nuts complicated like this, but thanks so much.
Hi Amber - once you’ve done it a couple of times it’s actually fairly easy - good luck - let me know how you get on ☺️
Very informative thank you . nice work
thank you Cyntia : ))
Thank you so much for this tutotial, it is really helpful 🥺
thank you, I really pleased you enjoyed it :)
great tutorial . thank you so much
I don't know anything about hair so I thought I would attempt doing this step by step but I was too bold. 😁 I'll keep trying it until I get it right. I hope I don't burn my hair
Best to work on a practice head when you're learning!
I notice that she had naturally curly hair! I do too and I’m wondering if there is any way I can create fingerwaves without straightening my curls? Any tutorials or advice? Or if this is even possible? 😂 i have 3c curls
HI Erica, it is much easier to create finger waves on naturally curly hair -- it would be best not straighten your hair first. Finger waves replicate the movement of naturally curly hair - when it is wet - so you could create them on your hair whilst it is wet, just by using a comb - following the same techniques shown in the tutorial minus the curling. Alternatively, you could still tong the hair - but there should be no need to straighten it first. Good luck!
Very well explained
Glad it was helpful!
Amazing i love it
So glad you like!
Omg your videos are SO good

Thanks Yip Yuan : )))
Great and really helpful! Thx!
You are amazing!
Thank you 😊
When you go to cosmetology school this is the first wave you learn to do it is a 45 degree angle finger wave why I don't know I've never known him to be inside all of the above in the twenties but I think some salsa coming back now yeah that's what you learned first thing on a mannequin LOL
Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for this clear and informative video. I am wondering what size of curling iron I should use for this. Is a curling iron with a clamp recommended or could I use a curling wand ?
Sorry for taking so long to reply - I used a 19mm tong - good luck
excellent!
Thank you 🙏🏽
Love it!

I hate being a stylist and knowing I can do this on others but not being able to do it!!
Hi Sarah, thanks for getting in touch. . .not being able to do it on yourself o you mean ?!
Thank you
Glad you enjoyed the video - please check out some of our other uploads. Best wishes!
Nice
💕💕💕💕💕💕💕Great!
Thank you 🥰
Thank you so much!
Thank you!!!!!!
the waves look good but the way the brush was pulled through the hair made me wince
You can be a bit more gentle if you're working on a real person!!! Glad you like the waves :))
Thank you!!!
Thanks Shawna, glad you found it helpful : )
Thank u
Would this technique also work if the hair was wet and I skip the tongs?
HI Ally, thanks for getting in touch, yep, this technique works on wet hair, the finger wave technique is the same, you might find it helpful to put a bit of gel on the wet hair as well, as this helps the hair to stay n place, it's not essential, but it is helpful when you are just learning the technique. Finger waving when the hair is wet is ALWAYS easier on hair that has natural curl, as we are replicating the way naturally curly hair falls when it is wet - so if at all possible practice on someone who has curly hair!
Let me know how you get on :)
Stay safe and well xx
I have below shoulder length hair. Do you need short hair to do this?
HI Sarienn, thanks for getting in touch. You can still create this style, you would find it easiest to practice on the front section of your hair- so choose where you would like your part to be and take a section down to just behind your ear, secure the rest of the hair our of the way - create a low bun perhaps - and then practice the technique as shown in the video. It's always easier to practice when you get the bulk of the hair out of the way, practice the technique on one side first of all and then the other. . . as you'll find one side will be easier to work on than the other! Good luck : )
Do u have a tutorial on styling the whole head like this?
HI Allysia, sorry for my delay in getting back to you, sorry, we don't have a whole head on short hair. I have done a similar style on long hair on our online course - but they are Hollywood waves, as oppose to finger waves. With finger waves you would create one wave all around the head first in one direction, before starting the wave in the opposite direction. . .I hope this helps. Let me know how you get one! Thanks, Pam
حبيت الاكسنت ..!
That is amazing. Great tutorial ✌🌼
Please mention the product when you applied on which step
Thanks for getting in touch - I use mousse for the hair prep - any mousse will do - if you are working with fine hair a strong hold mousse would be good! Good luck!
It seems like that would be a lot easier with a curling wand
Possibly- different methods suit different people! Hope you enjoyed the tutorial 🤞🏼🥰
Great. I'm a bald man and now I want finger waves.
🤣
Восхитительно 🙏👍🥰
Thank you so much 🙏
Can you use GHD straightening irons to form the curls and achieve the same effect as the old style tongs?
Hi Tina, thanks for getting in touch, there is a technique whereby you can use straighteners to achieve waves, but when I've tried it I didn't get a very authentic 'look'. I'm sure it can be done - but I haven't managed it :S Every one finds their way - and my way is definitely through tongs! I hope this helps
@@createbeautifulhair6642 thanks for getting back to me. Maybe one day I will give it a try, also.
