- A compilation of Muse's heaviest live moments. These are some of my personal favorites. The reason I made this video is because there seems to be a lot of people reacting to the new Muse songs without they knowledge of them actually being MORE THAN CAPABLE of being heavy. In my opinion, Kill or Be Killed and Won't Stand Down literally don't even compare to some of the stuff they used to do (especially live). I hope a lot of people (especially from the metal community) see this and grasp a new view on MUSE.

Amazing video man, i would love to have seen some best of township rebellion riff. guess is not THAT heavy as the rest but is one of my favourites, wembley and the mayan ones are sick as fuck.

Osaka Jam in post BHAR era was epic. I remember there was a concert that osaka jam was transitioned into plug in baby with Matt’s late participation to the jam. You should upload that to a part 2 video too if you find it.

While it's impressive it's also important to note that they're not playing Showbiz in its original key. It's much easier to sing it one step down as Matt can't reliably hit that note anymore.

Matt said Kill or be Killed is influenced by Slipknot due his son’s favorite band. I wouldn’t be surprised if the next album is death metal album.

I heavily agree but I also disagree since that era was (yes he was crazier) but the music itself sounds heavier. For example: the headup riff sounds much better and heavier in the newer mixes rather than at Grand Rex in 2008 where it mostly just sounds flat even though matt was “less tame”.

"Muse's heaviest Moment". There is no performance from 2001-2004 when the sound was much harder and more distorted. Lol
More distortion doesn’t always mean heavier. Plus the Glastonbury 2004 gig is literally in the video my man
Yes, just a few seconds of Citizen Erased ... It is true that more distorted is not synonymous with heavier, but it is equally true that the sound of Muse at that time was more explosive and harsh, less muffled. The performances were faster and more aggressive, just compare the Microcuts of the video with the live versions of the period 2001-2004. The instrumentation was different, there was no keyboard player, and the band aimed to sound as hard as possible. Then they softened to fill the stadiums.
@@giulioricci1119 don’t forget the little bit of Stockholm syndrome from that show too that I added. And as I’ve said before there’s 3 other parts I’m releasing for this video and as the description says, this is the mere surface of how muse has been heavy. I agree that micro cuts’ vocals were better back then but in my opinion the instrumentation is better in more recent performances, the palm muted outro is better imo. I wouldn’t say they softened to fill stadiums, they simply adapted their sound and there’s nothing wrong that. The point of this video is to show that they can still do what they did in the past and then some
@@giulioricci1119 I agree on what you’re saying with how it’s become more muffled, the vocals and guitar are very buried in the mix (live) even still. Back in the day they were blaring. I definitely miss that
@@matthewdpavitt It is probably also a matter of taste. I don't really appreciate the post Absolution material, the stadium sound and the old songs rearranged for the general public - too slow and mellow.
My favorite Microcuts is the one at Earls Court in 2004, it's so heavy! 😅
