This is the most insane craziest desserts we have ever eaten (well so far)! Indonesian sweet martabak from Martabak Sinar Bulan located in Grogol, Jakarta Barat, Indonesia. Martabak is Indonesian pancake that has two varieties, savoury or sweet. Indonesians are not shy with the condiments for their martabak with tons of chocolate sprinkles, peanut, sesame seeds, cheese and margarine! Would you try this?

Made these myself about a year ago. It was the first time I had eaten martabak in over 25 years. Talk about nostalgia!
I will say, the leftovers don't really work out too well
Martabak is for at least 3 people. Very good for hanging out with friends. And back in the old days, my dad has to buy one so my mom's family can let him to date my mom.

There's a specific brand of margarine that's popular to use in Martabak Manis. It just hits different
Oh and fun fact, you can pay extra to 'upgrade' to a better quality butter rather than margarine
Butter is not produced in Indonesia (for some reason) and cost 5usd for 200gr more expensive than in other countries even tho our economy’s way worse so people use margarine which is usually around a dollar for the same amount.

I'm Indonesian through and through and I like martabak but I sometimes only buy it with 1 or 2 toppings usually between chocolate and nuts or cheese and sweet corn 🤤

The people that kept saying diabetes, sugar is in the chocolate and condensed milk. Te batter has 0 sugar. The condensed milk is not more than American candies. Not more than a cheesecake. The chocolate is not that sweet either. So, for you guys to say diabetes, I better not see you guys eat a cupcake, do it, american candies 😂

I'd like to also add that most of Indonesian products, even the sweet ones, have a lot LESS sugar than food products made in the US

Nah, usually martabak seller have wisman and blue band, the default usually is blue band because its more affordable, you can ask them to use wisman but of course it's more pricey

We Indonesians love cheese on our dessert. Our processed cheddar cheese is not as strong as authentic cheddar cheese, so it tastes like cream cheese. So it's proper for dessert. You should try it when you come to Indonesia.

There is the best cheese brand and most famous one called Kraft. I can promise you it is good salty cheese.

the better tasting martabaks have less filling no one wants a mouthful of cheese. Some vendors try to do to much. If you have never had this dessert its absolutely delicious. The mixture of cheese with the chocolate does not give you two contrasting flavors like you think it will instead the cheese doesn't have much flavor and brings a creaminess to the dessert. The cheese works extremely well with the other ingredients. They put way to much of these ingredients and ruin the taste. As an american if I could pick one dessert world wide this would be my number 1 hands down its absolutely amazing. My flavors are chocolate, peanuts and cheese called campur. I ate about 30 of these over a years time in singapore at jtown cafe.

Oh god. Martabak/terang bulan is for shared! You dont eat it alone! 😂😂😂. Usually a box is shared between 2 to 4 people, depends on the size, really.
