I've personally owned both of these Utes and here's my review,
Ranger after 3yrs 80000kms, 3 engine replacements, blown turbo hose, sagging rear suspension 6 months after new, multiple broken fuel caps, 2 broken seats, broken power windows.
Hilux SR5 after 70000kms, hand brake needed adjusting once.
Hilux isn't only 1000% more reliable buts it's $30-$40 cheaper on fuel per week which is almost 2 months lease repayments over the ranger at the end of the year

You are doing something wrong if you need 3 new engines buddy
That was an sr5 stop spec so... the interior is going to be better next time use the wildtrak

What a sad review so far from the "versus" statement in the title.
Had 3 Hilux’s and a 79, 1 old gen Lux, 2 later gen D40 common rail manual and auto, all great super reliable no issues, drive and enjoy, proper trucks though, only driven the Ranger for work and also had Colorado’s for work, Ranger was super impressive to drive, but have known too many issues, though second hand feedback, so take it with a grain, but imo just too much of the same feedback for me to look at owning one over a Hilux, reliability is everything for me off road first and foremost, as a DD it has to just work all the time every-time, I’ll take that over a bigger engine though the 79 is still my fav off road touring veh, daily driver home and work tool have to be he Hilux, as tempting as it is to try a Ranger for that impressive engine, road handling and safety features, all round the Hilux is my go to, never moody always ready to perform.
my guess would be that Hans or Hans's parents were imported from Germany...

How does that old man emu gear on the Ranger ride on the tarmac? Looks comfortable but bouncy in the sand.

Bring them a stock truck and they can fit and finish like the ones you've seen here. One stop shop.
which shop in Perth?
Any ARB store mate, I'm pretty sure all of them do fitting of their products. My hilux has all the arb gear fitted on these trucks, but I have a TJM winch and different drawers, But appart from that my local arb shop did all the fitting,
Thanks mate, will have to shop around; was hoping to get ARB to install onto a brand new Hilux and finance it all into one bundle.
No worries, ARB should be able to do that for you..

0:10 the door thud sounds sooooooo much more solid on the ranger than the hilux, Makes me feel like ford makes a stronger vehicle.
You mean like all the euro cars, that have a fantastic door 'thud' but fall apart in 10 minutes...?
Thats if you can open the doors in a few years. Worst track record of all car brands. Time will tell but history is strongly against them.
Had my Ranger for over 5 years now (2012 Model) Have done 168,000 km with 40,000 of those offroad. Only problem I have had was a noisy pulley bearing, and now a worm gear in the air-con has gone. Bearing was replaced under warranty, not sure if they will replace worm gear.
I look after my gear but I also use it like its meant to be. Love the ranger, cannot fault it.

I hate the new Hilux. The front and interior looks ugly. The new Ranger is much better than the Hilux
i actually really like the Hilux front end, much nicer than Ranger's. but the interior.. what were they thinking putting a normal car interior in a ute. looks very out of place. px2 ranger interior looks awesome and practical
The Ranger has best looking front end of all the dual cabs. Dmax Colorardo, Hilux they all look stupid, and I dont even like Fords.
at first he was ugly but i grew accustomed to him by now and like him, especially when modded for offroad...the vigo looks better though...
