Who was Tai Lung’s nephew? Well it turns out that somehow the parents of Tai Lung - who left their snow leopard cub at the doorsteps of the Jade Palace - must have had more children during their lives because in the series Legends of Awesomeness, we were introduced to a young snow leopard by the name of Peng who was revealed to be searching for the infamous lost member of their family. Through Peng’s journey he befriended Po, the Dragon Warrior, garnered the respect of Master Shifu, confronted the truth about his family and faced his darkest impulses, but he still found hope and now will spend his days trying to use his power, knowledge, and wisdom to make a difference across the world.

Imagine if Tai Lung was a calm and peaceful person...he would have definitely been one of the strongest kung fu masters...or better yet...the dragon warrior....
That would mean that either A
Po would’ve simply lived a life of selling noodles or
Oogway would’ve still seen pos potential and
People would refer to him as master panda(once he had been trained)

Well he was... rather imagine if people trying to convince him that he didn't need the dragon scroll and that it could corrupt him, just like Peng and that necklace. Instead no one stood up for him and basically betrayed him by doing so. It would be cool if in the future we get to see Tai Lung again but this time joining the good guys. Also, it's just better for the movie, I mean imagine Tai Lung with Chi. He would just speed run the Kung fu panda series! xD
Science Fact: The Snow Leopard closest relative is the Tiger.
So Tigress is more related to Peng and Tai Lung than you think.
Her entire story Is litterly accepting she wasn't there dragon warrior and controling anger and she did a very good job and both those things by the time we see her in kung fu panda

If Tai Lung has a nephew, that means he has a sibling. So maybe his sibling stayed with his family and Tai Lung was taken and abandoned at Shifu's for some reason.
Maybe his family learnt about Tai Lungs destiny? Take Shen for example. He knew he would be defeated by a panda though the sooth seeker (I think that’s the rams title). Tai Lungs parents could’ve dropped him off at the Jade Palace in hope that Master Shifu/Oogway could change his fate

@@scrambledEgg69 Or it could be that Tai Lung’s parents were poor enough at the time that they couldn’t afford another mouth to feed, and left him at the temple in the hopes that he’d have a better life. It’s a pretty common story even in the real world.

Peng is just a lost boy who's never had any parental guidance, nor any parental figures.
He's either an orphan or just a fugitive, as he must've came from a dirty background. But before his journey, he's likely heard his family say some interesting things about Tai Lung, and so Peng sees him as the father figure that he's never had. Peng would've thought that it could've been the chance for him to be a normal kid.
Peng's childhood is definitely not a good one

@@fantasticnerd7978 Technically, Shifu still would have met Po when the Tournament to determine who will become the Dragon Warrior came around after the news about the Tournament spread throughout the Valley of Peace, since Po would still want to see who the Dragon Warrior would be and would eventually come in the same way he did originally. Except that this time, Shifu, Tai Lung, and the Furious Five would give Po a chance starting from the beginning of their first meeting, since Shifu would not be heartless and Tai Lung did not go mad.
@@themasteroflaughter2458 Po loved Kung fu because he saw the furious five defeat the boar. The reason the furious five was gathered is because of tigress. If tai lung didn’t go mad, shift prob would’ve continued training with him to help him become the dragon warrior, which also means shift probably wouldn’t hv the time to train tigress. Whcih in turn means po wouldn’t have met shifu
@@slmz7067 then maybe Mr Ping would probably adopt Tigress as well in case he comes to a point where Po would need some company and have someone to play with, since Tigress would obviously be a very great influence for Po. The reason I think Po would still have to become the Dragon Warrior is because of his destiny of having to defeat Shen as it was foretold by Shen’s family soothsayer that if Shen were to continue down his dark path, he would then be defeated by a warrior of Black and White. And obviously, we know that only someone like Po would be capable of doing that. Remember what happened to Po when Shen and his Wolf army attacked Po’s birth village.

What I find suspicious is how Tai Lung's family aren't even aware that he's dead when his death was most definitely public knowledge by the time his nephew came looking for him.

I don't think the public knew it was Tai Lung by name, just 'A Dangerous Snow Leopard who knew Kung Fu'. Tai Lung's story took place before the current Furious Five was formed, and the Jade Place was closed off from the rest of the world. And I doubt Shifu would want to admit his greatest failure to the world at that moment.
His battle with Po during the final parts of the film might have caused his name to be known, but I am not sure. This is really the important event though, since without complete knowledge, it could be assumed Tai Lung was still somewhere out in the world.
@@ForgottenFafnir considering Po knew who he was it kinda contradicts this idea that his identity wasn't public knowledge. Kung fu Masters are pretty much celebrities in this universe
Saw the two Kung Fu Panda movies a long time ago, never watched the TV show, but it kinda makes me happy that Peng didn't have to go down a dark path just because he was related to Tai Lung. He struggled, sure, but he was able to forge his own destiny and be good.

The TV series is Hit or miss. I like it when it goes to 2d a lot but most of the episodes are very Saturday Morning. I like the elaboration of the Kung Fu Panda lore but that's about it really.

If Peng knew the whole story of Tai Lung, would he still try and look for him?
That's a possibility, but he wouldn't wanna follow in Tai Lung's footsteps. Knowing what his uncle did, he'd be horrified and would even question of why Tai Lung did such atrocities

Tai lung isnt bad at all, he became evil bc of shifu and oogway ( yes there was a bit of evil inside him for the plot ) but tai lung just wanged shifu to be proud of him shifu told him his destiny is to be the dragon warrior , but at a point oogway said no and its absolutely understandable how tai lung reacted

You should totally do a video on the full backstory of the other villains from Legends of Awesomeness like the hate filled rhino Hundoon who's actually one of my favourite villains from the series as his background is pretty sad and the fact that he blames the Dragon Warrior for everything bad that happened to him
Peng being Tai lung nephew is interesting because it seems like Tai Lung family is still alive or least somewhere. Because Tai Lung must have a brother or sister in order for Peng to be his nephew. But that lead into a bigger question why was Tai Lung abandoned when his siblings weren’t? Was is because the family wasn’t allowed to have more than one child or did they saw evil in Tai lung heart too?
It's most likely that Tai Lung was abandoned at the temple due to his family being poor and couldn't feed another mouth

I just realized, if peng never knew the truth about tai lung, and if he was left at the jade palace as a newborn how did he know his name? Now if he was a baby it would make more sense then.
The keyword is nephew. A nephew is a son of your brother or sister, or a son of your husband's or wife's brother or sister.
We know Tai Lung never married, no girlfriend, nothing. Unless something new comes out and retcons it too. It's most likely that Tai Lung's whole life revolved around kung fu, training, and becoming a dragon warrior.
It must mean that Peng is the son of Tai Lung's brother or sister, or a son of their husband's or wife's brother or sister. They probably didn't tell Peng everything.
The thing that changes everything is whether they left Tai Lung before or after his brother/sister was born. It could be that they haven't been ready for a child, yet. Maybe they were too poor or had too many children, maybe even both. We just don't know. There's too little information.
How could they know anything about Tai Lung?
Do you know how sometimes people that gave away their children are still somewhat interested in their kids well being? Just to make sure they made the right choice, and the kid is happy and safe. Also, people talk and gossip. They could've just dropped by a couple of times and asked ''Who is this snow leopard?'' and people would start gushing about how Tai Lung is so awesome and might be a dragon warrior.
Why didn’t they come back for him or tried to reach out?
It would've been awkward, to say the least. ''Hey, we're your parents. We left you here because we couldn't take care of you, but now we can. Want to come with or keep in touch?'' They are basically strangers. And appearing out of nowhere would seem like they want to gain something from having a famous relative. Before Tai Lung tried to steal the scroll he was kind of a hero. Just like the Furious Five and Po after him.
Peng, Kovu and Luke Skywalker need to start a club.
Tai lung was Pengs uncle.
Scar was Kovu’ father.
Anakin skywalker was Luke’s father.
It’s not the same.
As Nuka and Kovu both mentioned in the sequel that Scar was never his father but raised from him to become king like Scar did in the first movie. Scar was his adopted father and Zira was his adopted mother since he came from his own parents as a cub as well as Vitani, closely I can closely see between Kovu and Peng that they wanted to avenge their opponent the protagonists such as Simba and Po from their evil mother lioness and uncle snow leopard, developed from evil to neutral and became good through the time that both Kovu and Peng wanted to be instead of being bad, they can be impulsive at first before they changed their minds on whether they choose to be.
Now I want a spinoff series of ping I would love to see how he progress after the show
When I first saw Peng, I speculated that he was related Tai Lung in some but I didn’t wanna make any assumptions. But when he revealed that Tai Lung is his uncle, I was like “Uh oh, Po’s in trouble”

Tai Lung was my favorite antagonist in the entire franchise. I wish he would have lived to become a reluctant ally to the others. Slowly achieving redemption; becoming Po's best friend, and Tigress' lover.

Both Tai Lung & Tigress are siblings even they're adopted. No way that they gonna falling to each other. Plus, Tai Lung is way too much older for Tigress.
Tigress was just a young cub when she was adopted and this was shortly after Tai Lung's incarceration when he was already a young adult. 20 year age gap. Nope. Though Tigress & Po would make quite the pair ngl.

I like to think Tai Lung's birth mother, was poor and couldn't take care all 4 of her cubs, so she gave up Tai Lung to Shifu hoping he'll be better parent than her. As the years went by Tai Lung's younger twin sister gave birth to Pang. As Pang grew older he learns that his mother had a twin named Tai Lung, and his grandmother gave him up, because she couldn't take care of him.
So Pang went to the valley of peace for answers.
That's just my thought.
I always forget these movies exist and then I get all nostalgic for the first one. 😊

Today I saw season 1 ep 15 again, and now what I can say is peng is an interesting character and the episodes where he appears are awesome. My favorite episode with him is season 3 ep 13.

Tai lung's parents abandoned him for they dont have enough money for food they sent him to jade palace they thought he can find better place
Tai Ling mother could have been a single mother or it was a not wanted pregnancy from rape . But if she was single mother she could have felt that she could not take care him so she left him in hope of his finding someone to care for him . His siblings must have came later in life and his mother could have never returned for him because of what he has done and that could also be why ping was never told about what his uncle had done because of the shame of it

His anger was 100% justified. Imagine hearing that your friend killed your family member, What else can you do but get mad?
Honestly, as much as I like Peng, his introduction and character arc was not handled well. The revelation that Tai Lung had other family members could've served as a decent myth arc in KFPLOA if not for the show's episodic nature. We don't even know why Peng was looking for Tai Lung in the first place or his parents' relation to him.
Tai Lung has a sibling, otherwise Peng wouldn’t be his uncle. So one of his parents is his sibling.

I think, in the moonstone mystery we seen that the vampire necklace was the same shape as the blue crystal. I think that her ancestors could have been vampires but after Addison had bonded with the different monsters she may have gained some of their magic. So she was able to withstand Vanna*s glare. Maybe she needs to travel the the blue commet and collect her missing piece. I think Addison was connected to the commet because she could be a descendant of the Vampire leader

How would it be known Tai Lung had a nephew? Wasn't he abandoned as a cub? How would we know his siblings? Why would they admit he's a family member? More questions about consistency then answers about why his nephew wanted to be like Tai Lung 😒

I think Penang was a good Character and I think his Journey was good and nice that he finally find the was a good need for Kung Fu.

It was honestly very obvious that he was related to Tai Lung because of the clear resemblance. So when he said his uncle was named Tai Lung, it didn’t surprise me at all
